Paula Deen's Dirty Joke
WARNING: Only play the embedded YouTube video if you want to hear dear ole Paula Deen's dirty joke that she used to close her cooking demonstration at the 2008 South Beach Wine and Food Fest. Ignore it if you care to think of Paula as just a sweet and innocent Southern lady.
Sorry for not getting the entire audio, but it was a long joke.
The setup is:
Three old couples were driving across the country to go to an AARP convention. They had been driving all day and were getting tired, so they decided to pull over and spend the night at a hotel.
There was this weird combination of laughter and shock that came across the crowd when Paula said "hardon." Who knew Paula was such a dirty bird?!

Incredibly hard to hear at first, but I'm glad there were subtitles towards the end. That was kinda diturbing, but I'm not really surprised that she's got a dirty mind. She's very flirtaious and everything from what I've seen.
Oh I'm not surprised at all. Have you ever spent much time visiting an "active" senior citizens community?
Oh, shoot - I can't get it to play right. I would love to have watched Giada's face as this joke progressed and what her reaction was to the punch line.
Not surprised the way she acts with the guests on Paula's Party but totally inappropriate for the situation, if you ask me. But then again, some of the remarks that Anthony Bourdain made were inappropriate as well. Apparently, Paula feels she's above reproach.
That is Paula. Her cooking show is filled with double entendres, and she is extremely flirtacious on her party show. You either like her or you don't. But those of us who watch her regularly know that is normal and expect it.
low-class, trashy, and predictable.
"normal and expected" --give me a break, anonymous. this is what happens when you give white trash a microphone and money.
but isn't "hard on" two words? Let's ask Alec Smart, since he gets one every time Aunt Sandy mixes up a piping hot batch of Swiss Miss and Stolichnaya.
There's a time and place for everything, but this was not the time or place for such. A dirty joke that's told by a younger person seems to be more tolerated, but from a 61 year old women is not!!! Paula often refers to herself as uneducated, but this kind of behavior shows that she is low class!!! Her behavior on Paula's Party and at her public appearances seem to be getting worst and receiving many negative remarks from fans who are changing there opinion of her.
Paula, it's time to try acting like a lady!!!!!!
Oh Pfft, it was the kinda joke I expect at our family reunions ... Jacob, thanks for the closed captioning toward the end -- helped a lot.
Nothing wrong with a little joke here and now but ... you gotta pick your spots. On stage at a notable event with media and all ? Really boorish and low class.
White trash definitely comes to mind, and she is obviously looking to make up for all the obscure years she spent in backwoods Georgia, wishing she was the belle of the ball.
As for her talents as a cook, no doubt she can make some tasty stuff, but this is food that had been served a church suppers for decades. What is the big deal ?
Let's not forget not so long ago, she was sending her two little boys off to peddle her rancid tuna and chicken sandwiches to make rent.
I think Lord Tuschman needs to have a chat with her before she does something real boneheaded. And I'd watch out for her husband, Capt Hindgrinder. He is starting to give me the creeps too.
Just like a bunch of low class, backwoods, hillbillies. All of you really need to go back and read your own blogs to see how childish all of you really are.
Paula's show is real America, and not some publicists or producers dream about what they believe America is. Dirty jokes are a thing that's been going on since the beginning of taped television. Try actually showing up to an event instead of bragging about how many you've been to.
Stop by and say hello, I'm the one with the big mustache near the sound equipment. You know, the guy that's about 6-4, and bald.
"Who knew Paula was such a dirty bird?!"
I've read her book. 'Nuff said. :P
