Alton is intelligent, witty, and cares about bringing intelligent cooking to the masses. Yes, I've met him, and he would spoil you for ever meeting another celebrity. He's engaging and humble, the exact opposite of the self centere nimrods like Rachael Ray that flood Food Network. He doesn't have to show sexual body parts to get people to watch either, which makes his shows even more kid friendly. Great job Alton, you are the best host on FN.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30368617.post-33597187432223623042008-08-18T19:04:00.001-04:002008-08-18T19:04:00.001-04:00I love Alton Brown - for this and many other reaso...I love Alton Brown - for this and many other reasons. Jeez, I just saw Elie K. doing a "spice rub" on chicken that was composed of cumin, salt and pepper. Please. Oh, and she had an inventive dish of sauteed shrimp with basil and tomatoes on the same episode. Brilliant! I was so blown away! Oh, she also added garlic, white wine, and crushed red pepper! A true gentleman.

I think that people who think his act is "tired", "BS" or simply uninteresting just aren't turned on by the intellectual side of cooking. And that's fine, but I think many more of us ARE, and Alton delivers the goods in entertaining, intelligent and memorable ways (pay attention, producers of Ted Allen's horrid rip-off of AB's angle!) He's the reason I gave FN a look years ago, and he's one of the increasingly few reasons I still stick around at all.

And I can't wait for Feasting on Waves!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30368617.post-91912279965346149292008-08-14T20:58:00.000-04:002008-08-14T20:58:00.000-04:00ha ha ha...I clicked on the sooooooooomme people.....ha ha ha...I clicked on the sooooooooomme people...too much!! you're a riot Jake..love that pic of Kelsey... she looks like a scared Holiday elf..
>:)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30368617.post-37266105960957021222008-08-14T17:23:00.000-04:002008-08-14T17:23:00.000-04:00Alton deserves to be on TV. I appreciate the good chefs in the restaurants creating great dishes. There they shine. Their creativity amazes me. IMHO, it doesn't matter whether a good chef goes on to be on TV or not. But some chefs whose food I've eaten I wish would publish a cookbook! hee heeAlejandrohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11926188357711914515noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30368617.post-40155385499917115632008-08-14T15:51:00.000-04:002008-08-14T15:51:00.000-04:00what he says is Twue so twue!! then again perhaps...what he says is Twue so twue!! then again perhaps he should STFU??
i am sick of seeing him on Iron Chef.....Mr Know It All...I am SO tired of his rap.......it was ridiculous on one show when he took minutes away from his real job of yapping in our faces to drag out his tired old chalk board and give a lesson on what ever the hell he was diseccting with his drawings and BS.....I am surprised he hasn't jumped into the kitchen area and shoved a chef aside to cook as well..... overkill with the AB on the FN.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30368617.post-29437273392052835372008-08-14T14:05:00.000-04:002008-08-14T14:05:00.000-04:00I agree with Alton. And most chefs are not good in front of people, let alone a TV camera.

The right mix is someone that cares about food in a way that is non-threatening to viewers, you know a non "know it all" attitude. A person that is fun and has life stories from personal experiences to share and also someone who is just naturally engaging to watch and not trying to hard to "put on" a show for people.

I don't know when it became such a mission to just get on tv ...these so called "rock star chefs".. Give me a break. I cook becasue I love it, my family shares that passion with me and because I see the beauty that is in food and cuisine. The common thread that brings cultures together.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30368617.post-39923855443609413792008-08-14T12:03:00.000-04:002008-08-14T12:03:00.000-04:00alton is my favorite out of all the fn stars. haha...alton is my favorite out of all the fn stars. haha some people...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-30368617.post-87580773524261376592008-08-14T09:47:00.000-04:002008-08-14T09:47:00.000-04:00yes! thats awesome.
