But how did Daisy do for you?
It was just so-so. Nothing like Anne Burrell's first epsiode which was just so unlike anything we'd seen in such a long time.
Daisy clearly knows a lot about food and has what I'd call a "Rachael lite" TV personality. For some (maybe many), "Rachael lite" may be a welcome change... but there's truly a fine line between True Rachael hyper and lifeless.
So Daisy: you got five more Eps to dazzle me! What did you think?
I liked her show on PBS better. I think she has to get used to the Food Network format.
ReplyDeleteI LOVED Viva Daisy! Daisy was adorable and not over the top. I wish much continued success to Daisy, Rachael and John! And how cool is it to see Rachael getting a EP credit - it is about time! GO RACH AND JOHN!
ReplyDeleteI heard Ingrid Hoffmann's show was canceled...anyone else know what happened to her?
ReplyDeleteDaisy is certainly a welcome change. authentic...knowledgeable...fun.
I am not sure I would actively seek out her show again unless I came across it channel surfing, like I did this time. LOL...I have to laugh at how they dress and are made up for a cooking show. And how they handle pouring and stirring. It looks so unnatural. Ratchet Ray has gotten to be a megalomaniac, as has P Deen (gawd, she is disgusting to watch anymore). They have become bizarre caricatures. Why does FN feel the need to make all their people over the top and unpalatable? ridiculous? shameless?
ReplyDeleteI thought she was sooo much fun! and she totally knows her stuff
ReplyDeleteWell she knows her food, but this show is to much like RR's. I was hoping for more another Anne Burell type, guess maybe it has to do with the producers. I hope they haven't done away with Ingrid's show, Maybe not the best host but I love her dishes. We can take more than one ethnic food show, after all our population here in the southwest is largely Hispanic.
ReplyDeleteToo much big jewelry.
ReplyDeleteDid she always look like that? Because she appears to have had a Latino RRay makeover...scary.
ReplyDeleteI didn't catch it. Was this show promoted?
ReplyDeleteAnon 12:13 - I didn't even pick up the RR makeover until you mentioned it. She really does kind of...weird.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the show quite a bit, she wasn't too over the top(yet) and she seemed to know her stuff. I really enjoyed her more than I ever did Ingrid(could NOT stand her!). I'm glad they are starting to get some diverse programming, I felt like too many of the shows they had were running together. Now they need an Asian themed show and I think they'd be good[well, let's be honest, not good but better] to go - I vote for Jaden Hair from Jaden's Steamy Kitchen.
I thought Daisy did a good job. I enjoyed her when she was on PBS. She's spunky and knows her stuff.
ReplyDeleteI watch Food Network fairly regularly and don't recall seeing one commercial for it. If I would have known it was on this weekend I would have recorded it. I loved her show on PBS.
ReplyDeleteI'm rooting for her because I love Mexican cooking and I'm not impressed with what Ingrid makes. I think Daisy will make more of what I like. She seems to have a nice personality though I haven't watched the episode all the way through yet. I care more about the actual food anyway.
ReplyDeleteWasn't "Cusimano" the name of Tony Soprano's MD?
ReplyDeleteNo need to record my friend. I've seen almost every show countless times. It will be on again and again and again.
ReplyDeleteI found the show a little dull, but it was clear it has quite a lot of potential. She seems like she could be a really fantastic host, her show just needs a bit of tweaking. I do hope they have not canceled Ingrid...love her!
ReplyDeleteOh, and the fact that Daisy uses so much Fiestaware just makes me a happy camper! :)
I did not care for the show at all. I actually DVR'd it and found myself fast-forwarding quite a bit!!! But, since it's got Rachael's name attached to it, I'm sure she'll get more episodes.
ReplyDeleteNeedless to say, I will not watch any more episodes. Boring.
Kelli in TN
OMG..... she was so much fun to watch. She looks great too!! I watched her on PBS and im so thrilled to see her back and on FN! She will be a hit. Everyone loves Daisy....!!! My entire network of friends love her too! You rock Daisy.!!!!! Thanks Rachael for seeking Daisy out. Im sure she will get her own show.
ReplyDeleteI found nothing about the Daisy show boring . Some of the camera crew was corny but she was never boring! What a stupid comment! Probably a disgruntled X FN employee. Oh well good luck Daisy!

Where are the recipes?? I've been looking everywhere where can I find them?
ReplyDeleteI was so happy to see Daisy Martinez on Food Network. I enjoy
ReplyDeleteher cooking and her personality.
I watched her on PBS and am very
happy to see her in a different
kitchen and a different look. Best
of luck Daisy1
Daisy rocks and so does her recipes!!!
ReplyDeleteI had the priviledge of meeting her in person. She is definitely a sweet heart. Go Daisy!
DAISY ROCKS!
ReplyDeleteDo not care for Daisy or her recipes, not the real Mexican food we have here in Hatch ,New Mexico...the chile capital of the world. I would like like see someone else take her spot.
ReplyDelete^ Daisy isn't a Mexican chef, she's Puerto-Rican, and she cooks all sorts of Latin-American cuisine. I'm glad she's not on Food Network anymore because they were changing her into something she's not. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteI happen to own her cookbook titled "Daisy Cooks" which I recommend highly. Many classic Puerto Rican dishes can be found in this cookbook. Hope to see more of this chef on Food Network.
