While I'm not the biggest fan of Guy on TV, I've liked him better when I've seen him in front of an audience. He was actually pretty great with the kids at the Kidz Kitchen in South Beach last February. So I was intrigued to see how this taping would be... but choose wine, food, and liquor instead... on a Sunday. Does that make me a heathen?
Luckily, my friend Katie (a.k.a. partysugar) over at YumSugar attended the taping and has full coverage and plenty of pics up on their blog.
Check it out!

I'm re-watching Giada at Home and Barefoot Contessa right now. We watched them yesterday, half asleep, after returning from New York. So, I need more time to think about them. I agree that Giada seems rushed and Ina's new theme song arrangement will take some getting used to. I'm just happy for new shows!
I hope you get some rest, and Happy Belated Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI have to say I didn't care for either Ina or Giada's shows previously. I watched both season premires and have to say LOVED Ina's. I love that I can see somebody else do it. Strangely enough it give me more confidence to give it a go myself. Giada's show, was OK. I'll watch more before I commit to recording the season. I do enjoy the California cuisine take vs the Everyday Italian premise. I'm looking forward to seeing what your take is.
Please tell us if Giada's kitchen is set at her real home. I'm really curious!
ReplyDeleteWow you're friend Katie looks yum sugar alright.
ReplyDeleteI'd help clean her kitchen any day.
Ina Fans, if you go on to the House Beautiful web site there are photos of her new "Barn" and an interview with her describing her new digs.
ReplyDeleteGiada's new kitchen is filmed on a set, she said so herself.
ReplyDeleteI love Guy's show, Diners, Drive-in's, and Dives! It's one of the few FN shows I watch anymore!

I loved the premiere of Giada at Home! I loved seeing her husband and baby girl involved in the episode. Giada has great style and talent and I think I am going to love this new show. I agree that the pace of the show seemed a bit frantic but she did have a lot of things happening in the kitchen.
ReplyDeleteIna. Love her. The new theme song was not the best but I don't care. I love Ina and her life of leisure and I love TR. The whole episode was simply fabulous.
Yes that is Giada's real house, real kitchen, real pool and etc... The designer Fitzsimons Design + Build designed it and on his website he even says that she would be filming there. Also her bathrooms are supposedly going to appear in Kohler ads. Also I heard on a yahoo answer site that her house may also appear in food & Wine and/or Architectural Digest Magazine. It is located in Pacific Palisades, Ca. Also Giada did a segment on the today show right before she gave birth at her house in Ca with her husband where a nanny to the stars came over and it was the same house I can tell even though they didn't show the kitchen
ReplyDelete"Yes that is Giada's real house, real kitchen, real pool and etc... "
ReplyDeleteI talked to her myself and she said it's a set. She may be doing photoshoots in her real home for magazines, though.
Question for Jacob: I must have missed it, but can you please clear up the Emmeril mystery. Did he quit the food network or cut back? He has the Fine Living shows and the Green tv shows, but I never heard about what happened on Food Network.
ReplyDeleteI hope it was Emmeril's decision because he put the Food Network on the map, originally.
J
It wasn't his decision but he's doing fine with Martha and his products and his restaurants etc. Did you see his "green" shows that are filmed at Whole Foods somewhere in NC?
ReplyDeleteI was not thrilled with Giada's new show.. She does seemed rushed and they do ALOT of face shots and unlike Everyday Italian they do not do whole scene shots so you can see all the food. A bit akward but Im sure it will get better and I still love her cooking and recipes I just hope the next episode is a bit better. I loved the set and food just wasnt taped very well.
ReplyDeleteFrom giadas admin from her website that is not her real home, it is a set. Her real home will be featured in Architectural digest Magazine in the dec. issue though, can't wait to see it!
ReplyDeleteGiada De Panna Cotta might be the biggest fame whore on TV today.
ReplyDeleteWe dont give a crap about you or your family.
Go away. You've done nothing for mankind except show us your funbags.
Guy fierie is a fool. he needs to grow up , pick hair cool . He is so untalented and ugly.
