Ina vs. Paula in '08!
Sad.
HOWEVER-- I just got word that miss Paula will be cranking up the burners in a Thanksgiving battle against Tyler Florence & Robert Irvine!
IRON CHEF AMERICA: ALL STAR HOLIDAY BATTLENot returning this year will be Rachael Ray or Mario Batali, last year's winners.
Premieres: Sunday, November 25th at 9PM
In another All Star Culinary Showdown, the Chairman has invited Paula
Deen to partner up with Iron Chef Cat Cora and compete against Food Network’s
own Tyler Florence and Robert Irvine.
Dang!
And keeping with the holiday spirit, Paula returns with her own special: PAULA’S PARTY: DEEP FRIED THANKSGIVING PARTYPremieres: Friday, November 9th at 10PM
It's a Thanksgiving to remember on Paula’s Party when every dish is deep-fried. Everything from fried stuffing on a stick to fried cranberry fritters to turkey with a deep fried pecan glaze! And what's Thanksgiving without football, family and a parade? Football legend Refrigerator Perry helps Paula’s sons Jamie and Bobby fry up some bacon mashed potatoes. They surprise their mom with a live marching band, and a major star from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Kermit the Frog! He stops by to help Paula deep fry a pumpkin cake to top off the perfect Thanksgiving feast.
I'll post some more November highlights soon.

Speaking of cleavage...did you see Wolfgang Puck slam the ladies of The Food Network in the Post's Food section last week?
When asked what he thinks of food TV he said, "It's going in a way now where it's more like housewife cooking than professional cooking. When I did it four or five years ago, they said, "We don't want celebrities; we just want to teach people to be in the kitchen and show them how to cook." . . . [These days, the hosts] get a push-up bra and show a little cleavage and wear a tight sweater, and they think it's sexy housewife cooking."
Ouch!
And when did Wolfie's show get the ax? Sounds like sniping to me.
(Maybe he's been hanging around with Joan Rivers too long.) Would he rather the female regulars dressed like lunch ladies, complete with hairnets and buns in the back? Hmmm... (I think it's interesting that Tyler and Robert vs. Paula and Cat will be an interesting matchup.)
Hopefully horndog Paula can keep her likely flirting with Rob "The Bod" under control during this.
Definitely should be entertaining to watch.
Poor Cat. I wish it was Tyler and Cat on the same team. I also wanted Mario with Giada last year. Oh well. I will watch regardless.
Oooooo...what fun! I still can see Giada's snarky face after RR and Mario kicked her arse alst year on battle cranberry.
I have a feeling Paula ain't gonna take this whole IronChef think too seriously. She is quite the camera hog.
How exciting! Paula on Iron Chef!
Too funny, "Deep Fried Thanksgiving"..LOL!
YAY! My favorite time of year on the Food Network, THE HOLIDAYS!
Wow!!they made me hungry, forced me to think about my favorite food stores OmahaSteaks and Restaurant at CouponAlbum
..
That's funny that someone called Paula "Horndog." Her instructions to Refrigerator Perry on stuffing the turkey made me more than blush. It sounded positively pornographic!
The Iron Chef dessert cook-off was the pits! The food looked awful. Why wasn't Robert Irvine allowed to describe the dishes at the end? He was the only reason I watched it.
Robert Irvine has incredible skills, and I'm surprised he wasn't selected (or at least offered) the slot of the Next Iron Chef. I mean, how many meals has does he have to prep under crazy time constraints (and others) to prove himself.
And yes, I'd LOVE to see Ina go head-to-head against Paula. But Ina doesn't really partake in the Food Network specials. And Paula, as much as I love her, has become somewhat of a ham in recent years. And please, no more sexual innuendos about Michael. And enough with the cackles. And the ya'lls. And the two sons (they need to cancel that show, lol!)
As for Mario and Wolfgang, I think they're both FAR too busy running their restaurant empires to really care what a Food Network "executive" has to say, which is why neither are with Food Network or Iron Chefs (Wolfy had it for one episode). Other than reruns, they're done and have both moved on to bigger and better things.
These are all nice picture but he man is very best actor all the best.
