Food2 Launches with New Series by Kelsey Nixon, Adam Roberts, and more

Food2, the site that Kelsey Nixon told the Utah Valley magazine would launch in January (it had its soft launch back in March) has quietly launched some of the promised video content, including the original series Kelsey & Spike Cook.

Don't get too clever on us, Food2!

The Food Network-affiliated site has been in the works for about a bajillion years, so this is a big step.

Amateur Gourmet Adam Roberts is also back with a self-titled series, while Football star (I use the term lightly, as my knowledge of football is, like, zero) Keith Neubert is hosting something called "Man Kitchen."

*********************
Food Network has tried its hand at web-only shows before, the first ones being Dave Lieberman's "Eat This" and "Dave Does." They both had a temporary, finite feel to them, so I'll be interested to see if this is something they'll be able to pull off long term.

Adam Roberts Moves on from FN Dish

It's hard to believe so many months have passed since the February debut of The FN Dish hosted by Adam Roberts, but here we are in August. And just like summer coming to an end, it was officially announced that Adam Roberts is moving on from FN Dish and will be unveiling a new web show for Food Network sometime in the near future.

The new host of FN Dish is Bruce Seidel, Food Network's Senior Vice President of Program Planning and Special Production.

Take a look at Adam's farewell (for now) video.

While I do think it's kind of strange that a show originally intended to be the "ultimate fan experience with exclusive behind-the-scenes access" will now be hosted by an executive who has worked for the network for more than 10 years, I wish him the best.

I also want to congratulate Adam on a job well done. I look forward to seeing what his new show has to offer!

Chic & Easy with Mary Nolan Coming this Sunday

A new show, Chic & Easy with Mary Nolan, is premiering this Sunday, May 18 at 9:30 a.m. e/p.

The FN Dish's Adam Roberts just posted this fun video of him meeting Mary and even getting a few softball lessons.

I gotta give Adam credit for his straightforwardness regarding his fear of sports. When I was in high school I'd purposely choose such (in)active sports as bowling or croquet to participate in, thus avoiding the possibility of "balls flying at my face," which I can only respond to with the classic Clueless comeback, "Well, there goes your social life" Adam! =)

And speaking of movies I love, I saw Carrie on tv again this weekend and every time I read the name Mary Nolan I think of the movie character Chris being asked by the gym teacher who she's taking to prom. ("Billy Nolan" "Who? Speak up!" "Billy Nolan!")

Mary Nolan handily bypassed The Next Food Network Star after her audition tape prompted meetings with FN peeps, which led to her own show. Score! With upcoming episodes titled: "Posh Picnic," "Think Globally, Eat Locally," and "It's Ladies Night, Oh What a Night" it appears we'll be getting some new ideas (and recipes) from Ms. Nolan.

Just don't do as Chris and Billy Nolan do in Carrie though, Mary.

FN.com Debuts Amateur Gourmet's FN Dish

Food Network debuted something pretty exciting on Monday... a new web-based show featuring food blogger and author Adam Roberts, the Amateur Gourmet.

His show--the FN Dish--takes us behind the scenes at the network to interview our favorite stars, cook with celebrity chefs, and more.

I've actually been in talks with the Food Network since October about this project, so I'm excited to see it finally launch. (That's what my meeting with Bob Tuschman led to.)

I'm also VERY excited to let you know that I'll be interviewed by Adam for the 2nd episode of The FN Dish while we're eating it up in South Beach this weekend! I better start working on my tan. And pecs.

Should be lots of fun, and if it all goes well I'm hoping my involvement with the show can continue on (in some form).

So watch Adam and let me know what you think. I LOVE that you can leave comments on the videos and embed them.
