Giada wore makeup in the delivery room? Now *there's* a celebrity for you.
OMG, she already has a Giada-like nose! lol. I'm glad to see pics are already circulating!
Wow she looks so much like Giada!
If I knew that pictures of me taken mere moments after giving birth would be all over the internet, I'd be wearing make up too.
Wearing makeup in the delivery room ? Just hankering to release the photos.
Some of these FN "chefs" really think they are something, don't they ?
After my son was born, i will admit i put on makeup and brushed my hair before i let family come in and see him. It's embarrassing, but true.
I agree with the makeup because she knew it would be in magazines, website and tv. I looked horrible after many hours of labor with my first son and my mother-in-law snapped photos of me where I was pale and swollen. So I remembered that for my next child I put makeup on while driving to the hospital (I even had the baby as soon as I sat down on the bed/quick delivery). So afterwards I was already ok to have visitors with makeup on already. OK TMI.... back to Giada. I'm happy for her and can't wait to see her new show in the Summer time.
So happy for them. Giada is amazing and I love all of her food. Congrats to Giada and Todd. Such a cute family.
Big shock (not) that she had a scheduled C-section. Perhaps a tummy-tuck, too, during stitch up?

Hey smarty pants, I'm basically the same size Giada is and I am due next month and I have to get a C-Section too. Look how small she is on her show, before I got pregnant I was a little smaller than her and the doctor's said for safety reasons I had to have a C-Section because of my size. So before you go making rude remarks such as that, learn the facts.
Petite is right! She's so itty bitty and cute! Great name, too. I hope she gets all her pronunciations right or mama might be mad. ;) I wish I could be there the first time lil Jade sees grandpa's classic, "Flash Gordon." Now that will definitely be a family moment!
Alec, put yourself in these ladies' shoes, so to speak. Vanity is extremely important to women, especially those who give birth to offspring.
Changing the subject slightly...I think Jade Marie is adorable. She will probably be just as beautiful as her mother.
Beautiful baby and a lovely family. Hey, lots of women wear makeup to delivery, I knew an anesthesiologist who specialized in deliveries. He would touch up their makeup for them before waking them up if it got mussed, kept a few qtips with him. Now that's a caring Dr.
awww...cute pics...:)
Umm, I wonder what petite women did before C-sections?!! Ridiculous! Just like women are made with the parts to conceive a baby they are also made with the plumbing to deliver a baby without invasive surgery.
Agree with "what did petite women do before C-sections". It is uninformed to say that small women cannot delivery naturally. As an RN I've seen women smaller than Giada deliver naturally without any problem. More to the point, todays women don't want to go through the pain of labor like we did 35 years ago. Can't say I blame them for that.
Since when does being little mean you can't give birth naturally? I was a size ZERO when I got pregnant and I am very tiny bone wise too and I was able to give birth naturally just fine. And who the hell cares if Giada wore make up during delivery. It's not like she spent hours and hours laboring yanno. Some of y'all sound like jealous bitches. It's HER body, if she wanted a C-section then so be it!
Not only Giada's size goes into consideration...sometimes the baby is not in the right position to birth vaginally. Doctors are going to do what's best for the BABY, so there was obviously a reason she had a c-section. Oh, and years ago, women died more giving birth in situtations where a c-section would have been needed. I can't believe all of you can't just be happy for her, and exclaim how lucky she was to have such a beautiful picture post-delivery! Not everyone looks at a photo like that and tries to find a reason to be mean.

Umm, well, a lot of them died, basically. The further back in history you go, the greater number of deaths during childbirth there were, and that's because of poor prenatal care and not enough c-sections.
The mother of one of my childhood friends got a broken pelvis delivering her second child (around 1965). I know she would've rather had a c-section, for sure! The plumbing simply isn't always all there is to it, Mr. Knowitall!
Not all petite women need c-sections, but I'm sure Giada's doctor determined well ahead of time that she would need a c-section for sound medical reasons. You weren't there, so you don't know. Try giving the benefit of the doubt.
Oh, and to everyone who complained about the makeup, my sister did the same thing for all four deliveries! So what??!
Wow, what a bunch of bitter people! Because I didn't think to wear makeup in the delivery room doesn't make me mad at every woman who has that foresight! How many of you snipers thought to shave your legs first? Ha! As for having a c-section-planned albeit- if my time was worth the money hers is I'd plan things out pretty precisely too. Her baby'sadorable & I wish all the blessings on the new family.
