TV Food Network Logo
Not much to report today. It's warm here in D.C. Have you been a good viewer and been checking out all of the Chefographies? I was bad and missed the Ace of Cakes one last night (was seeing Margaret Cho perform). Dang! How was it?
I'm going crazy because I can't figure out what this early 90s logo for the "TV Food Network" reminds me of. I know there's another logo out there that looked the same.
At first I thought maybe some kind of 80s Nickelodeon show? You Can't Do That on Television?
If you've seen this logo elsewhere (or maybe it's just the font) please tell me!
I love how the logo--with what I guess is one of those silver platter covers--is floating through the clouds... for no apparent reason. Ahhh... low budget telelvision.

Last night's chefography was great!
Duff rocks! Someday soon, there will be a Chefography for "The Food Diva"! That logo sorta looks like a derby hat..hmm you're right something reminiscent of Nickolodeon..
Alex
Maybe it's the positioning of the "O's" in "FOOD." (Reminds me of the trademark of a popular chain of chicken wing/seafood eateries where the female servers don't wear much.)
The ace of cakes one was awesome last night, though his mom was slightly annoying after a while...
Every time I look at that logo I think hamburger buns...an old burger king logo maybe?

Duff's chefography was great last night. It was really interesting to see how everyone met and came together.
weezy-i totally agree with you.
Reading Rainbooooow!
Yeah, Reading Rainbow!
hello does naybody know the name of those 2 shows they had when they started...one was a couple going out to restaurants and doing reviews and the other one was this jewish guy with a beerd...making great food paring this with great wine...etc...

Grodrig 106,
First, activate spellcheck.
Could you be referring to Taste with David Rosengarten, and the Best of .. with Jill Cordes and Mark Silverstein ?
Jeff,
You are so right about the positioning of those "Os"! That's it!
mundane
You're right...it really looks familiar! The first thing I thought of, though, was Back to the Future. Not sure why!
Hey Alec Smart...sorry for the spelling error...anyway...you got the taste show right...the other one not...
the show was similar to this one ...but it was a very beginning of the food TV…
she was a blonde and he was kind of an old guy …can anybody help out ???
The Ace of Cakes Chefography was awesome! I thought Duff's mom was adorable.
:-)
grodrig 16.... could the blonde be Donna Hanover, Rudy Guiliani's ex ?
Do you know how many shows have aired on FN ? Jake provided a link a while ago that listed some of the oldies on FN... that was a gas to have a look.
Finally managed to catch the Chefography. It was awesome! Very interesting to see how everyone came together...
His mom was absolutely adorable. :-) She is obviously extremely proud of her son's success how far he's come etc.
Interesting to see that both Duff and Geof's girlfriends are also employed at the bakery.Suppose that's one way to promote togetherness in your relationship. To work together! Not everyone can do that even if things are going well. You can't count on that your friends/coworkers are going to get on well with your girlfriend or boyfriend either.
Hiring your so at work could also prove not so enjoyable though if you have problems or the relationship tanks. :D
http://www.canlearn.com/images/rr2.GIF - how about this image...a little closer. Reading Rainbow was what came to my mind too...
Reading Rainbow sounds legit to me, though the shape of the 'TV Food Network' logo also reminds me of René Magritte's series of surrealist painting involving bowler hats, often against a sky background -- of which Alton Brown has a parody art piece on Good Eats, with a bowler floating over a whole dressed chicken, if I remember correctly.
