Bourdain Softening on Rachael Ray?
Is Rachael Ray's big birthday causing Anthony Bourdain to soften his tirade against the queen of quick cooking?
Maybe.
In a recent interview, Anthony Bourdain calls Rach a "smart, hardworking businesswoman."
Of course, he also goes on to say, "... as soon as she doesn’t have to cook, she’s not gonna. I mean, she can’t anyway. She’s the first to tell you, more or less. I’m kind of tired of beating up on her because I just don’t know how much longer she’s going to be actually cooking."
Still, I sense that Bourdain is easing up a bit on Rachael. Again, it's hard to stop an $18 million train from traveling on. Although Rachael could surely dabble in other projects, I'm pretty sure cooking will continue to be her base for a long time.

Well Anthony Bourdain said it all. I understand where he is coming from about Ms Rachael. I think she really realates all the homemakers with her cooking and he doesn't. And yes Ina is probably the best selfmade cook I have EVER seen.

I don't care if Bourdain sold out. At least he has something to sell. He's got the background, experience and chops to venture into other areas besides food (travel, writing). Oh yeah, and he's REAL.
On the other hand, Rachel is a Tusch FN fantasy come true because she sells crap regardless of her talent. Now she's one of Oprah's products and that makes me want to puke.

He's mellowing, but not much. Even though I thoroughly enjoy his show No Reservations on the Travel Channel, it's like an unpolished version of her Tasty Travels. (Maybe the absinthe he had on episode 1 of NR is still affecting him. Or, maybe he's bent out of shape at the big name chefs who guest on her talk show!)
Believe it or not, I've never been sucked in or overloaded with Rachael Ray. I catch her show here and there and I like it. (30 minute meals). It's fun, realistic and easy. Plus, Rachael has a personality. She moves and talks so much that you find yourself WATCHING a SHOW. Not half-as* paying attention to some monotone droid.
Rachael has never claimed to be anything more than she is. A talented woman with money making ideas. What's wrong with that? Nothing. Men ALWAYS have bad things to say about women worth $18mill. Anthony wears his jealousy and insecurity on his sleeve. Rachael puts in 14 hour+ work days so she deserves everything she gets. It isn't anything bad that people like her so much that FN gave her shows. Anthony can get bent. I never thought I would be a Rachael fan but she really puts her share of elbow grease into what she does and that's rare after certain point. So he can be the lame ass that he is while she laughs all the way to the bank.
Rachael Ray is Brilliant !!! Bravo Rach! You go Girl ! Thanks for always making me smile!
