Giada's Home Featured in Architectural Digest

Thanks to everyone who emailed me about Giada's home being featured in Architectural Digest. I'm just getting around to taking a look at the spread, and it's quite good.

Giada and husband Todd Thompson transformed their 1,600 sq. foot home in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles to a contemporary California pad with twice the space, according the Architectural Digest.

I know it's silly to point out celebs wearing the same shirt twice, but I can't help it! That black and white polka dot top is so memorable:

(I Love Trent!) Giada wore it back in April 2007 while at a book signing (and Madonna wore it circa 1991 during the Blonde Ambition tour). Times are tough, man.

The rest of the house looks beautiful. I'm jealous!

Look at the view out of their master bedroom! I know it's probably computer generated enhanced, but still. Pretty pretty.

I'm still full from yesterday. Tyler's sweet potatoes with banana and honey were good-- maybe a bit too banana-y. Turkey was good. Stuffing was good. Gravy is always good. Hope everyone's day was a blast. I loved reading all of the recipes you guys were trying. Lots of diversity out there.

Okay, off to nap again. Have a good weekend!

I really hope that Todd and Giada are as happy and compatible as they seem to be -- they seem so fun!! And what if that IS the view from the bedroom?? --I am soooo jealous!

Did you follow Tyler's show or whatever was on the FN web site? They always seem to alter his recipes (different foods, different amounts of things, etc.). I followed what he said on the show and I have to say it was incredible. It was so sweet it was basically like a dessert, but, man, it was insanely good. It was gone in a blink.

Is their any information out there about what kind of work Todd does? I mean, it's not really like he HAS to work, given the money Giada's family has and the amount she's made through her business and FoodTV. Still, he doesn't seem like the kind of guy to just live off his wife's money, so he must do something.

So is giada at home filmed here? It looks kind of the same. Maybe she has two kitchens? The surfing show was really fun to watch, but where was Jade?

Todd Thompson is an accomplished designer for Anthropologie.

I lived in their neighborhood before (moved to Malibu) and yes this really is their view! Not computer generated.

They deserve all of their success. Find your passion and go for it!

1600 sq ft ?!?! Wow, that's kinda small ... esp for Pac Pal ...

It looks like most of the sq ft are in the kitchen & bedroom ...

I find it hard to believe that any woman of child bearing years sleeps on pure white sheets. There's staging, and then there's staging.

Not that that has anything to do with food. The whole island with the bar stools seems gigantic - like stay away while I cook kinda large.

I think it said twice that amount, which would make it 3200 sq ft. I like her kitchen but am surprised the range is not on the island where she can look out well cooking instead of being stuck looking at the wall.

Watching "Giada at Home" right now and comparing the kitchen she is cooking in now with the one pictured in the magazine article. Glaring obvious that they are different places - wasn't this show supposed to be filmed in her "new home"? And actually I find her TV kitchen warmer and more interesting.

yeah...TV kitchen is WAY prettier and more inviting. Seems more her style than the real one.

she's got a big head.

The kitchen's a bit too sterile for my taste, but heck, I don't live there, she does. Love the view from the master bedroom. How come I never see Jade in any of these shows? Is she always with a nanny or Grandma or Aunt Raffy? I'd love to hang out with Aunt Raffy. She's so much fun.

If that house were for sale, as a potential buyer I would take one look at that kitchen and say, "Don't need to see anymore--let's go." That is literally the ugliest kitchen I have ever seen.

Todd= Textiles- Cloth that is what he does for a living. Baby Jade- Grandma.

I think the house is cool but not kid friendly at all!!! I bet they end up selling before having another baby. They said in the article they have jade's room and the other bedroom is a nanny's room, they dont seem to have much space. I know the kitchen does not seem to be very chef friendly either.

Giada is also on the cover of Self Magazine and has a nice spread in their as well with Todd. The self magazine website also has a video on the blog with her and todd and some of jade as well with recipes!

Todd, stop blogging. It's obvious.

Giada calls Todd a "fashion designer".

I happen to know that not too much fashion "design" goes on at Anthropologie.

He might tell his wife he sketches away happily all day, but original design isn't part of it.

He does function as a product merchandiser though. This involves "interpreting" various styles that may or may not make it into Anthropologie's stores and switches up a few things and finds a factory in China to mass produce.

Fashion designer sounds more glamorous for Giada.

That kitchen is so cold and sterile looking but I love the bedroom. When is Giada's body going to grow to fit the size of her head? LOL. I still love your recipes Giada but you need to chill. She seems so neurotic since she had the baby. I bet she can't relax. Poor Jade better not spill anything. LOL.

OMG!!! I want Giada's Kitchen!! That is super cool -- Candice Olsen would be so proud!

I know everyone has their own tastes but I was disappointed in Giada's "real" kitchen. I doesn't seem to fit her or something. Just an opinion - I'm sure she could give a rip. I do love Giada and all her shows though!!

I also was suprised at their kitchen well the whole house. You would think it would be alot warmer, and the kitchen. You can't tell me she is comfortable in this kitchen so not her and the way she cooks. I think Todd designed this whole house.

The comments about Giada's supposedly BIG head are ridiculous. Same for the baby. I regularly see Giada grocery shopping with her baby and she is extremely beautiful and has a NORMAL size head...so does baby.
For some reason, the camera is distorting them.
Which reminds me, several years ago I met Barbara Streisand and was surprised that her supposedly BIG nose is as normal looking as can be.
I guess the camera can be brutal.

I've been searching to find the cabinets in her set kitchen. Does anyone know what they are?

You guys are way to critical!!! I think most people would agree thats a awesome kitchen. Giada seems like a great person with a cute family. I enjoy watching her and I love both kitchens.

Do you ppl really care what Todd does, or think that they care what you think of their kitchen? Dude. Jealousy don't look so good on you... and btw, maybe some of you who are used to looking at fat people all the time need to re-check your sense of porportion and GET OVER YOURSELVES! Thank you and have a nice day. :)

Awesome show, we are hooked. We live in Topanga, maybe we'll see her around town? Where does she eat out?

I wonder if Giada likes it in the butt. That could pose a problem with the white bedding...
