Food Network Addict Exclusive: Dave Lieberman Succeeds Emeril with Dave Live!
Food Network Addict has learned exclusively that Dave Lieberman, popular cookbook author and host of Food Network's Good Deal with Dave Lieberman, has been chosen as Emeril Lagasse's successor to the wildly popular Emeril Live in a new show titled Dave Live!
Bob Tuschman, Senior Vice President of Programming & Production tells me: "Emeril Live was one of the most succesful shows in Food Network's history. After Emeril stepped down, we searched long and hard for a new host who exhibited Emeril's expert knowledge and charm, while still providing something fresh and new. We're very excited to announce that Dave Lieberman will be the new host in the retitled show Dave Live!"
The show will have a special one-hour premiere tonight, April 1, at 8pm E/P.
Unlike Emeril Live which was pre-taped, Dave Live! will be broadcast live in front of a studio audience from Food Network studios in New York on a completely redesigned set.
"We think viewers will enjoy Dave's fresh take on the show, and will appreciate his ability to cook gourmet meals on any budget," says Tuschman.

Is this an April Fools prank?
I thought the same thing. I didn't hear that Emeril was leaving his show? It does sound nice though to have a new person. :)
Emeril Live has been cancelled but Dave is no longer part of the FN so I will say it's April Fools.

Somewhere in Foodland, Emeril Lagasse is laughing his ass off.
While I like Lieberman, this guy doesn't hold a candle to Emeril. Emeril was fun to watch for many reasons, and his pure experience in the kitchen alone was a reason that made the show a huge hit.
Poor Dave Lieberman. Probably working for a fraction of what Emeril was asking, and Herr Tuschman is nuts to believe he can replace Emeril with this guy.
This is just another low budget move by the culinary visionary Bob (do you like my name ?) Tuschman.

sorry, dave live just doesn't have the same "ring" to it as Emril live does. You Make good joke eh!
If this is true, Food Network has hit their lowest of lows. They actually are putting this weasel - caterer - in Emerils place??? This young kid who has NO personality - CAN'T even act!! NO WAY!! Just the thought makes me want to cry. Guess it's back to re-runs of Gilligans Island or The Lucy Show!!!

It's so nice to see a good April Fool's Day joke today. :) Another journal community I watch/read put up a post yesterday saying they were going to disable all further comments on posts (this is a discussion community) on March 31st (for a lot of it's readers) and that was their "joke."
I have sucker written on my forehead today. You got me.
Anyone who's ever seen Lieberman in person at an event or a taping would have laughed their ass off at the idea of putting him in front of a live audience for a tv show.
Tuschman (bird face) and cutie pie Lieberman in love and butt buddies. Why do you think there are so many cuties on Food Network, Bobby Flay, Tyler Florence, Dave Lieberman, Young Emeril, Bobby Deen and all the so-called men on Ina's show. Tuschman has a casting couch. I hope his nose doesn't get in the way.
