Am I completely out of the loop? How did I miss hearing that Bobby Deen was named one of People magazine's Hottest Bachelors of 2006?

I was also surprised to hear that Bobby was chosen as one of People's Hottest Bachelors. He's a cutie, no doubt, but that voice of his just grates me - not the accent. I'm a southern girl and don't mind the drawl. Too bad I'm not sweet ;-)
that's interesting that you say you don't like the voice, but the accent is okay. Being from the midwest (with an accent rating of zero), I wouldn't know how to distinguish between them. ;-)
Lol, it's very...um, not nasal, but gutteral? I don't know how to describe it, but it's annoying - but so it the 'Brother' and 'Dude' that flies every two seconds.

I think Bobby's not only adorable, but he looks like he'd be a lot of fun to hang out with. Jamie's the "pretty boy" but there doesn't seem to be much else there. Bobby seems like he's actually got a brain and a sense of humor too. I'd take that total package any day!
Bobby is the perfect southern gentleman. His mother raised him and his brother well. They both seem like respectful guys. I just adore Bobby's accent, personality, and his ability to cook (he gets that from his Mom, of course.) I would have a blast hanging out with him. Southern accents are HOTT, not weird. Hello Everyone! Are you all nutz! He is fabulous! Absolutely wonderful. When he drops the brother and dude, that's him. That's who he is and it is nice to see someone be themselves. As a single female of the age of 28, I find him really attractive! You get to see his Momma everyday and you can tell that her sons have to be as wonderful as she is. I am a southern girl and my daddy was from KY and grandmother from NC. I do say that Bobby is a true southern gentlemen and I love the life the boys have in them. The first time I visted Savannah was Thanksgiving of 2004. I had never heard of Paula Deen and had never attempted to cook my first dish. After visting and hearing (we could not get in to the restaraunt) what a success she was, I started watching the Food Network. I absolutely love her, now!!! She is on my TiVo every day and Friday night. Being from Ohio, I grew up on meat and potatoes and I love to find new recipes that impress people. I actually cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner for my family, including my brother that just returned from Iraq. He couldn't believe how good the dinner was!
At any rate....leave poor Bobby alone! He is absolutely adorable and is obviously waiting for the "right" person....whoever that is....to come along. I am in my late 20's and just broke off an engagement, and have already had to deal with stupid speculation and talk. Whatever he is orientation wise...is none of our business. He's a gorgeous guy, a great son, and a great brother. Mind your own business and just enjoy watching the show.

I don't know if this is a recent episode but Bobby was on w/ Paula and a young kinda pretty girl raised her hand when Paula asked him (Bobby) where is gf is? The girl was totally joking of course but she went up and sat with Bobby. The blond, Paula, and Bobby sat down talked while the audience watched it was really cute! Bobby is adorable I never got the impression that he's gay, but now that somebody mentioned it...hahahha....well...it wouldn't matter. I was in Savannah, Georgia yesturday and wen't and ate at Lady and sons. I think Bobby is going to be the "George Clooney" of the food world...the irresistible bachelor who will never settle down. He is awfully cute....but I have a feeling that he is more content "playing the field" than settling down with anyone. Like most men, he probably has a difficult time making a commitment. I just don't understand how anyone could ever have a negative comment about Bobby Deen. He seems to be truly a wonderful and very attractive man. As a single lady, he is someone I would like to meet and possibly have dinner with. Anything that is said about this man should be positive, not many men put so much interest in their family. I am a single mom, unfortately my daughter knows what is like to have a male family member turn his back on her. I'm glad that Bobby is such a wonderful person.
At the end of the day, does it *really* matter if he is gay, straight or - dare I say - BOTH?? Who cares...he's great eye-candy with a charming personality. I know a gazillion men just like him. His personal relationshiops are just that - personal and private. Who are we to speculate? To the girls out there, I'm telling you, I'm not only perceptive, but I'm fairly empathic. This guy is indeed a great guy who loves to play along on his mom's show. It's classic and fun.
But for those of you who are dreaming and were posting here, acting all starry-eyed of how it would be to marry Bobby, I'd have to say that dream - once started -would quickly morph into an acerbic, dark comedy.
I can picture the honeymoon, with you sitting there in your pink, silk nightgown with lace fringe... Bobby approaching the bed in his pale blue cotton PJ's... and then he gently kisses you on the FOREHEAD, walks to the other side, climbs in and goes right to sleep.

Bobby Deen is a great tv personality, and I'm sure what you see on the show is what you get in person. I've never met him, so I honestly wouldn't know.
As for being a mama's boy...there are two kinds of mama's boys: the kind who expects you to replace his mama, and do EVERYTHING his mama used to do for him, the kind who can't seem to cut the umbilical cord let alone the apron strings...and then there is the kind whose mama made sure he became a self-sufficient, talented, successful, and well-rounded individual. I think we all know which kind Bobby is.
As for marriage...it is overrated, and as someone else already pointed out, children of divorced parents already have experienced the downside of it.
And as for speculation...whether or not he is looking for someone to date or eventually marry, he is probably NOT looking for a squeeing fangirl. He has a great life going, so what could he possibly need with any of us?

I watched an episode on Paula's Party where she asked Bobby a question about girls and he was so uncomfortable. I believe the boy is gay and just wants to be left alone. I've read about the "gay" thing with Bobby and I just don't know what I think about that. Just because you are older and single DOES NOT mean that someone is gay. People who think that are by definition ignorant. What I do noticed is how Paula adores Jamie more than Bobby and acts like she likes Jamie more. To me it is so obvious which son she prefers over the other.

Well, I just heard it from Paula's mouth that really makes me now believe that Bobby is gay.... (not that there is anything wrong with that). On her show just today, she said that now she really has to cook for a big family - not only does she have her two sons to cook for but also for another son and a daughter. The "another son" must be Bobby's boyfried and the of course, the daughter is Jamie's wife. She did include Michael in the sentence too, so I think that may have been a slip-up from her. Who could be the "another son"? Oh well, I just noticed at every holiday mealtime, Jamie has his girl and Bobby is alone. He is too cute to not have a steady.
The other son and daughter that Paula was refering to on that show are Michael's two children, Anthony & Michelle. Although on a recent Paula's Party, Paula did introduce Bobby's best friend, Mike, who she says is like a 'son' to her. What that means -- who knows?

Bobby Deen is a very handsome southern gentleman. But he has a stormy side...I believe he has his VICES...maybe too much womanizing, smoking, or drinking. I have heard that he is a "Schnauzer" aka a hot head. Hopefully he'll cool off with a large glass of ice tea and marry a beautiful young lady.

His VICES are women, the bottle, and cigarettes! All he's got is his good looks, talent for putting his hands on phyllo dough, and that "over the top" chuckle. Bobby Deen needs to minimize those VICES of his....and just maybe he'll get a nice young woman at his side.

I heard that Bobby has webbed toes and saw on an episode of Paula's Party his toes while he was mixing up Chex mix with his bare feet and I really don't think they are webbed but that he may or may not have 2 big toes on his left....no maybe it was his right foot. Also, I noticed that his left eye twitches whenever there is cheese in a recipe so maybe he is afraid of cheese or cows or goats and that makes his eye twitch and also I was wondering who else out there has webbed toes? I have a polyp on my groin. It really hurts when I sit for a long time. It makes me get up alot when I am sitting alot. I saw that same episode of Paula's Party and wondered myself about the toes. I do think it was the left foot. I tried mixing the Chex mix with my feet after seeing this episode and it does work out much better than a spoon. I myself do not have webbed feet, but I have seen somebody who did and it was FREAKY....like a duck foot. Sorry to hear about the polyp issue you are having. I saw Bobby's foot on the Chex Mix episode and because I am a podiatrist, I noticed that he simply has a large distal phalange of the second toe of the left foot. No big deal....many individuals do. It was nice to see the foot used in the kitchen. It seems we often times forget that we can use our feet for so much more than just walking or standing. Kudos to Paula and her fine footed sons!

My guess would be that he's gay. But there are so many pressures on someone - particularly someone from the South - to hide their sexual orientation that he is totally in the closet. It would be hard for her to explain to her audience {a southern audience which tends to be quite right-wing} that they should accept non-conservative values, such as sexual difference. So he is in the closet, in part because so much of her million-dollar industry depends on a particular public persona. Maybe in years to come, the pubilc will be more open to such difference. But not right now, alas. So Bobby is in the closet.

Whoever thought Bobby has webbed feet is wrong! I have seen several pictures and seen episodes of Paula's show where he and his brother were either wearing sandals or were barefoot. Read a posting on another website put there by a man who was in the room next to Bobby's. It didn't say anymore than what you stated here. He did not elaborate as to why or what Bobby was ranting about. I have heard that he does have a temper which is probably amplied if he has had a few too many. Just another secret we will probably never know. And I guess it's really none of our business even though some of us (me, included) are nosy enought to want to know.

I would say he is about 5'10" or so. He looks short next to Jamie, but really he's not. I wouldn't say I got a gay vibe of him with a pink boa :), but I didn't really get a straight vibe either. All of the women were swooning, and the two men who showed up. If you read their new cookbook, they use a lot of ambiguous references. Now, I know they need to do that for book reasons, but you would just think he would say "the right lady" instead of "that special someone". I am not trying to get him out the closet, Lord knows it took me long enough to get out. :) But it just adds fuel to the fire.....
