Alton Brown, Sexiest Man Alive

Well, lucky for Mary Alice and the many other Alton fans out there, George Clooney isn't the only "sexiest man alive."

That's right. Salon.com has put Alton Brown, 44, into its lineup of guys who are sexy... for other reasons.

"For a lot of us, the sight of a spatula in a guy's hand has the same libido-loosening effect as roughly two margaritas and a Barry White album. There's just something irresistible about a man who cooks." I'm not all that crazed by the idea, but I can see how the ladies would be.

"He's the rare man so comfortable being goofy, so confident briskly whisking roux, so intense when he gets going about oven temperature, you might be forgiven for overlooking that he's also incredibly attractive." I would agree that he's comfortable being goofy. That's good.

Other untraditionally sexy men on the list were Borat's Sacha Baron Cohen, Doogie, a.k.a. Neil Patrick Harris, indie rocker Sufjan Stevens, Jon Stewart and more!

Jared and I are on a mission to see many movies this weekend. So far we've seen Fast Food Nation (just all right) and For Your Consideration (pretty good; not amazing). I also want to see Shut Up and Sing, Babel, Casino Royale and something else I can't remember. No time!

Hope everyone's having a fun Saturday!

Sorry, honeykbee, but I find Alton stuck up and exasperating. I will, however, give him mad props for his episode on scallops. It was highly informative. However, I find him too arrogant to watch for long stretches of time.

I have to go watch more birthday shows now. I'm thinking some "NewsRadio." Thanks for the call today, jrs!
