Dave Lends a Hand

I'm glad that with all the book promoting Dave has been doing (although he's snubbed D.C. in that area for now) he's still taking time to do some charity events.

Next Wednesday, November 15, Dave will be co-hosting Capital Food Fight along with Mark Silverstein (who?) of the Food Network, here in D.C.

I've never heard of this event before, but it sounds really cool. I guess there's going to be an iron chef-like competion with Anthony Bourdain as a guest judge.

It's all being done to benefit D.C. Central Kitchen, an organization that has been "Feeding the Soul of the City" by "recovering unused food, providing free, nutritious meals to shelters and other local social service agencies, training homeless men and women in the food service industry, and offering hope through empowerment. DC Central Kitchen uses the existing ingredients of our society to satisfy hunger, promote self-sufficiency, and change lives."

I've been to several of the resaturants whose chefs are battling, so it's sure to be a delicious time. Tickets start at $125, so I'm not sure I'll be able to make it this year (South Beach or Capital Food Fight? Hmm...)

Way to go Dave!
