Food Network Nabs 8 Emmy Noms

It was announced today that Giada De Laurentiis, Bobby Flay, Ina Garten, and Nigella Lawson (and their respective shows) are nominated for Daytime Emmy Awards. Congratulations!

Ina, Bobby, Giada, and Nigella (and PBS' Todd English) are ALL up for Oustanding Lifestyle Host! I hope Ina pulled a few strings, as I'd love to see her win. Or even just attend the awards. I'll be your date, I! You know Jeffrey will be busy.

Missing from the nominations list was Paula Deen, who actually won twice last year. Gotta step it up, P!

And lest I forget, even Aunt Sandy managed to get into the nominatin' pool.... kinda.

That's right, Semi-Hommemade Cooking with Sandra Lee is nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Hairstyling--and she's competing against peeps at The View and The Price is Right!

I don't think they're working too hard on Drew Carey's hair these days, but I guess "Carey's Beauties" (just doesn't have the same ring as "Barker's Beauties") are included in the mix. Now that Star Jones is gone from The View, I'm sure the hairstylists' jobs are much easier.

Should Bobby take this as a jab at his hair?

Probably.

Congrats to all the nominees! I'm pullin' for yah, Sandra!

I would love to see Ina win (and LOL on Jeffrey being unavailable). Or Nigella would be great, too. Hate to say it, but glad Paula was snubbed this year -- her on-air personality is just such a caricature with the new shows. By the way, if Ina wins, do you think she will display the Emmy on a bed of lemon zest?

Actually, just "Everyday Italian" and "Nigella Express" were nommed. I guess the Daytime Emmy people liked Ina and Bobby Flay better than their actual shows.

Last year it was Paula Deen and "Paula's Home Cooking" for the wins, and the year prior it was "30 Minute Meals," and the year before that Bobby Flay and Michael Chiarello tied for the Emmy win (if my timeline isn't off). FN ain't doing too bad.

Did PBS garner only one nomination? That's odd because PBS culinary shows generally are much better than Food Network's offering. Trouble is they only air on weekends most of the time.

PBS would never grant airtime to some of the buffoons that FN feature.

Bobby kicks total ass, if they come up with a McGillicuddy haircut category.

What's a McGillicuddy haircut ? I thought that shit was peach schnapps.

Flay serves a good purpose. The man has good reason to be mega egotistical, but remains normal.

A total horndog, but pretty normal.

Oh, and I have never had a bad meal in any of his joints. Solid there too.

Let's hear it for the hairstylists!
Hip, hip...!

(Hey, an Emmy's an Emmy. P.S.: Drew Carey was in the Marine Corps Reserve...what styling do you need there? It's obviously for his "cuties.")

The hairstyle found on a stereotypical dolt. Think Puddy.
