Just Like Us: Ellie Krieger

Ellie Krieger was on Today this morning to help show Meredith Viera how to make a healthy salad when eating off a salad bar. Who knew those pesky bacon bits and ranch dressing added up to so many calories?!?

I know I'm nuts, but I must point out that—like Giada—Ellie is just like us!

They wear the same shirt twice!

Oh well. Ellie's great. I don't care if she wears that shirt every day.

Check out the clip:

Ellie is my health and diet guru, and no kidding about that. She'll do more for your wellness than a bus load of doctors. About that shirt -- my problem with it is not that she wore it twice but that its, er, kind of ugly. (Can I say that?)

I don't care what she wears. I love her. Let's see more of her shows on FN. I've been using Ellie's recipes as part of a weight loss program and I haven't made a bad one yet...they are all great! Let's lose some of those new shows (especially Chic and Easy) and more Ellie.

That looks like the shirt Lisa always wears during her confessionals in TNFNS. I used to think Ellie was boring, but compared to some of the crappy shows on FN now, she's fantastic.

Ellie is great but seriously, the salad Meredith put together gets so boring after a while. You need to switch it up and have the creamy dressing and the bacon bits and the croutons sometime. You can use crumbled turkey bacon and whole wheat croutons. A ladle of creamy dressing is not going to ruin the salad and send it into some calorie catastrophe especially if you are exercising. And at the end of the day, if you do the creamy dressing and bacon bits, it's still going to be better for you with the salad than had you chose the double cheeseburger. I'm definitely not trying to correct Ellie as she is the nutritionist. I can say though, from experience, that diet and exercise doesn't mean you have to skimp and eat a dry, bland salad.

Ellie, You are fantastic! I love to make your recipes. There are about 8 of in our office and one day I made a treat for them all. About 3 pm, sluggish time, I took your recipe of pumpernichol bread, spread it with light cream cheese, layered it with thin sliced smoked salmon and topped it off with red onion slice. Cut them triangle size and everyone loved them!!! I eat that a lot for breakfast or a snack. Thank so much for these great ideas!!!

Well actually many people it's stupid or just ignorant and they don't really now about how to make this stuff in the proper way, usually this happens in poor places.
