Those Definitely Look Like Heels To Me, Lisa
Despite some comments saying otherwise, I'm pretty sure Lisa Garza's Pucci shoes were indeed high heels, which may or may not have contributed to her much-publicized stumble in the kitchen on last night's episode of The Next Food Network Star.
Take a look:
Not being a stiletto wearer myself, I choose not to comment either way on their appropriateness in the kitchen. I think there are much worse things to be wearing... or not wearing, for that matter (naked cooking doesn't really work, for instance).
I do, however, give Lisa some credit for picking herself up, literally, and doing a good presentation. She coulda been a big baby about it and slapped herself in the head, yelling "IDIOT" for example.
(And Jennifer still somehow made it through?)

Uh, yeah...those were heels. I am a heel wearer, but I certainly don't wear them while cooking!!! Props to her for taking her saucy self out there and presenting to the Guard!
And, although Jennifer is still in the running, I think she MORE than deserves to be over Nipa, who hardly showed a desire to compete for the last few weeks!
I haven't had the chance to see the episode yet(there's always "On Demand" on cable), but I think Lisa is trying way too hard to be everything at the same time. If you attempt to blend the qualities of three or four different TFN stars, it could get bloody. (Like hard-boiled journalists advise when writing, keep it simple, sweetie!)
Well, when she was trying to present her shtick the other week, she did say she does everything in heels.
I like Lisa and think she will probably win, but I'm torn. The show is Next Foodnetwork Star, not America's Next Top Model. So girlfriend should've dressed accordingly. Hello...sensible shoes!? But that fashionista-ness of hers is what I like about her. As I said, I'm torn.
Setting the inappropriate attire and footwear aside, doesn't anyone remember that she tried to sell raw fish as a menu item to Red Lobster!?!? Yikes...
She did not impress me yesterday. Maybe if she could have left out the name brands and how much $$ her shirt was worth. The little blond (sorry forgot her name) stole the show yesterday.

Listen - I cook in heels but not ON A SHIP! Hell, there's a reason Mario wears crocs, right? (Not that I'm advocating those shoes)
Also, I have to see the whole ep but I think those might have been Gucci, not Pucci only because of the shading on the shoe. Pucci shoes are bright as all hell. I still wouldn't have dropped the name of the designer tho. It looked like she was trying a bit hard. (Just my opinion, Ms. Lisa).
I'm still torn - I'm rooting for Aaron and Kelsey and Lisa are tied for a close second.

Sorry for the double post, but watch Susie's vlog on fn.com - it's very good. She tears some of them apart (esp Adam). I am really starting to like Suze.
Tough episode for Aaron. He didn't check the oven temp before placing the Cod down and it was downhill after that :(
Not a big Kelsey fan but I still really enjoy watching Lisa (heels up or heels down).
Hope Aaron can put it all together during next couple of episodes - cooking and camera - especially since the weak are almost all gone and it's going to be a dogfight when it gets to the final 4 (Aaron, Kelsey, Shane and Lisa)
I know Lisa will leave a comment soon or you'll catch the SideDish blog, Jacob, but she says she wasn't in high heels and that she would've slipped regardlessly in high heels or out.

Perhaps those AREN'T high heels, but rather boots with high heels...maybe that's the technicality she's basing her denial on!!! And she has a point--a flip-flop can be really slick on a wet surface...she really may have slipped regardless of footwear!
I think the fact that she fell on her ass helped her presentation. I think the Coasties were more receptive to an "imperfect" Lisa than the slick version she would have come out with.
Lisa will not win. "My $300.00 shirt boo hoo". Ugh.
Kelsey was more tolerable this week. She's growing on me..
Why doesn't anyone remember Giada's comment regarding shoes during last season????
What was Giada's comment? I didn't watch last year?
Sorry Lisa fell but thats the breaks sometimes. By the way nobody cares what your clothes cost. You suck no matter what you wear.
