"Aaron needed this so bad for his family in a way that I don't." -- Lisa Garza

Watch this video of Lisa Garza at her finale viewing party:

"Aaron needed this so bad for his family in a way that I don't. This is something that can change his life and bring his family to a level that I'm already at." -- Lisa Garza

I'm convinced that Lisa Garza is the perfect reality show contestant. She's got a strong personality, she's pretty good looking (a hairdo fix would do her good, though), she doesn't overthink things, and when she says crazy stuff like the quote above it's like she doesn't even realize she's saying it! In fact, I honestly believe she believes what she's saying is coming across as honest, true, and heartfelt. I love it!

It's amazing how Lisa can give such a backhanded compliment about how winning the show will somehow bring Aaron and his family to a level she's already attained... and then get applause! Huh?

AND NOW, some translations:

Lisa said: "Ultimately, my goal wasn't necessarily to go in to win."
Translation: I'm trying to justify my losing. I was competing for a "higher" purpose in a land where there are no winners or losers. Ultimately. (Also, please forget all those times I repeated I was "there to win!")

Lisa said: "My ultimate goal is that I want to give back."
Translation: I need a job.

****************************************

Hahaha... just kidding. Well, kind of. Not really. I only got a few more days to talk about Lisa!

i would totally collapse under this kind of scrutiny.... after i beat someone to death with a cast iron fry pan.... (and I was booked and fingerprinted I mean......)
then again even the slightest chance of me being in any kind of spotlight freaks me out totally.... i could never understand how people could do reality TV.... you are so all out there and its just crazy....
obviously there is no lack of folks that need and want kind of attention....... you sign up for it, you take the whole package I guess......

i don't care what anyone says. i j'adore lisa. she's the only one who's actually inspired me to get off my rump and actually cook something. someone better snatch her up quick and shove her back down our throats.

till then i'll be crying in my zabaglione, running my fingers through my newly styled page boy 'do...

no amount of network editing could alter that backhanded compmliment into anything ruder than it already is. i'd love to see her get own show one day, but please...just accept your loss and move on. you're making yourself look bad.

Yeah, that is definitely a backhanded compliment. However, I do like Lisa and think that she has what it takes to do a good show.

Can't we leave Lisa alone?? She is a super strong woman, and I don't see how this is offensive. It is a nice and true statement. And sorry, but it does come off as nice and heart felt.

If Aaron isn't offended, than why should anyone else be? I think it was very tactfully put.

I didn't watch the show but I think she has handled this very classy. As for the comment, she was playing to the audience. She was in a room of her family and friends so she builds them up. It's all good.

Lisa being Lisa. People will continue to adore her and others will continue to hate her. I for one am not surprised by her comments. She is one of the most arrogant and selfish person I have seen on reality TV.

Someone should tell the Norma Desmond of Dallas not to spit in the drinking water for some day whe might have to drink it. Yes, Aaron's one son ran away, but we don't know the circumstances. Aaron does have other children and a wife, how does Lisa know that they don't have the bliss she does?? Smug arrogance is never pretty. I am so glad AAron won!!!

Listen to what she says. I mean she worked closely with all of these people and for all we know ,Aaron might have been on the verge of financial ruin for all we know. Lisa might be a better one to judge.

That comment sounds like a direct response to something Aaron said to Lisa that reflected Aaron's need for a win , otherwise it might have been back to a real bleak situation back home.

Maybe now Aaron can achieve the socioeconomic status that Lisa has achieved.

Whether Aaron gave her inside information about his financial situation, it's not HER place to announce it to the world.

Perhaps if she wants go "give back to the community," she could have an auction selling off some of those designer clothes and donate the proceeds to the local women's shelter.

Besides, didn't her husband say, "Despite the fact that she’s appearing in this show mostly in nice clothes, most of her clothes come from vintage shops and/or gifts from retailers as a result of jobs well done. We don't have the financial means to afford the type of look that everybody seems to have decided that Lisa can afford. It's not something within our means."

Several people have left comments on this blog trying to make a point about Lisa Garza not being a real chef or owning a restaurant. In my job I do some working with eating & drinking establishments. I regularly have to research the ownership of businesses. So I did a little research…

The Texas Secretary of State and Alcoholic Beverage Commission shows Lisa Garza’s “husband’s restaurant” to be owned by Suze, Inc, its officers are listed as Gilbert Garza AND Lisa Garza. This means they both have ownership of the corporation and DBA Suze.

Exactly, and she said in the clip that she was given clothes by Carolina Herrara, etc etc.

I do not like Lisa but I don't judge her or anyone else by their clothes, hairstyle, shoes, or things like that!

It is her own comments to the other contestants, her own actions, that made me dislike her from the start of the show and if she got any better it was only because she knew she had to atleast act nicer if she didn't want to get eliminated. All my opinions for sure but when I heard her comments (this is not her exact words but this is what it meant to me) that she is better than Aaron so Aaron needs to win the most! Then I heard someone say about Lisa reprimending some others for drinking soda drink? I eat healthier than most people I know and if they ask me I let them know but I don't go around reprimending others for what they eat and/or drink! Bobby said something about he would hire Adam to cook and Lisa to be bossy and that again tells why so many do not like Lisa! Even most of the other contestants said they wanted Aaron or Adam to win. It was obvious they did not like the way Lisa treated them. I would had never watched a show with Lisa but I am not so blind I can't see she is talented, she is.

Lisa sure didn't inherit that lazy gene that I did. LOL. I heard about the lazy gene on the news this morning. I wasn't crazy about her at first but I do admire her work ethic. She's into alot of different areas like a Martha-type person.

Adam was a joke even though he did have the best finale. Aaron seems like a nice guy. Lisa should have won overall though. JMO.

I didn't care for Lisa at the get-go but must admit she did grow on me over time. I don't care how she dresses or where she got her clothes, the girl can cook. But her "concession" to Aaron was nothing short of arrogant. How about just a "congratulations" to the winner instead of "you need this more than me"? It would have left her in a much better light.

Jacob, this is the first time I've ever disagreed with you! I thought she came off as gracious and classy. Besides, what Lisa said is 100% true! She has already made a name for herself as co-owner of a fabulous restaurant and catering business where she hob-nobs with a fashionable and well-connected crowd.
Aaron, on the other hand, constantly reminded viewers that he was just a regular guy from Camden trying to make a better life for his family, was unknown due to being a hospital caterer, and had some family issues due to his son running away. He played that card quite eagerly, but Lisa is attacked for coming to the logical conclusion that he needed this more than she did!

To the person that asked about Lisa reprimending the others for drinking soda drinks, you need to watch the behind the scenes videos. I can't remember which one it was on but it was one of them! At the web site:
http://foodnetworkaddict.blogspot.com/

Scroll down until you see Lisa's Video and there is another video further down, Behind The Scenes At the NFNS Finale. If it is not on one of them then it was on one of the NFNS videos at the Foodnetwork. I have watched so many can't remember which one and I cant watch it again right now because I am on Dial up which won't play the videos but I went to a Wireless Hotspot and was able to watch them all there. When I can I will go and watch them again if the videos are still up and post exactly which one it was.

i saw the video in which she said she's the tree-hugger of the group, and she reprimanded others (facetiously, i'd think) for drinking soft drinks. i see nothing wrong with that.

on the other hand, as a gay male, lemme just say that i absolutely DROOL over lisa. i ADORE her. she's fabulous, fashionable, artistic, and has SUCH a lovely voice (she sings in the FN dish interview video). i'm basically gonna be lisa for halloween.

This is in response to Jenna's comment. Lisa may have made a name for herself with the local Dallas crowd, but she's just as unknown to a lot of us as was Aaron. So she's a co-owner of an "alleged" fab restaurant. If it's so whoop-dee-do, why have the majority of us never heard about it or her? I guarantee the average FN viewer had not heard of her. And how could she possibly host a show that involves talking to the audience? Everytime she smirks with a fake smile she squints and you can't see her eyes. Since she won't have a show now maybe she'll have time to get surgery on that bad case of crows feet she has going on. In addition, if you think she came off gracious and classy after a remark like she stated, then you are one dumbass beeyatch. Having money doesn't make one classy you ditz.

There is much blogging about lisa because she is self serving, There are so many other ways to describe her but, you get the point.

To me she is insecure and narcisicstic. She's not arrived, she's not humble, not sincere, not the dallas diva, not classy....

What does it matter if she knows her way around the kitchen,( beleive me there are others) she's NOT generally likable, turns people off, would not be watched.
She comes across as so full of herself that I lose my appetite.
Please d magazine , be DONE with lisa.... move on to the next new thing

I'm a straight female and while I don't drool over Lisa, I do indeed adore her. (Won't put it with a capital A, though!)

I think Lisa's honest answer was not the politically correct one, but she clearly meant no harm so why view it with such malice?

(Oh and fellow Mr. or Mrs. Anonymous, regarding that restaurant you haven't heard of, to answer your question: you haven't heard of it because most people haven't heard of most good restaurants outside our area. Most of us only know the ones headed by celebrity chefs unless they are local. The restaurant in question, though, has been featured in both USA Today and on the cover of Bon Appetite so it's probably safe to say that it isn't allegedly fab but indeed, to many at least, is fab.)

I'll further point out that what she said was already stated in more diplomatic ways by other folks associated with the show including Aaron himself. One other thing to think about: if Aaron didn't really need this win to help his family up in the world, then why the hell did he stay on a reality show when his son ran away from home...and why would the judges and folks on forums sympathize with that decision rather than criticize it? Someone upthread said it was unfair to bring this up because we don't know the circumstances and the latter, at least, is true, BUT I think it's quite fair to say that if Aaron was already doing well financially - hell, if Aaron was female for that matter! - that decision to stay would not have been viewed as charitably as it was. Instead, precisely because the judges and audience had already been given a glimpse of Aaron and his family's struggles, that decision was viewed with sympathy. I.e. "of course the guy is staying; if he wins this he can really change his family's life around, including that of his missing son." By contrast had Lisa's son gone missing and she had announced it on the show and stayed on the show in precisely the same manner that Aaron did, can anyone here honestly deny that the reaction of nearly everyone would have assuredly been along the lines of "That heartless fame whore of a mother! Caring more about a reality show than her own son!"

At 8/01/2008 5:59 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

We do not know exactly what point Aaron's son came back home! The next day, the next week? So no one can know that Aaron would not had left the show if his son had not returned home very soon.

I am happy Aaron won! He was the only one on the first show that the judges like the food and he won several of the shows on his food. So what he bombed on the buffet when he had done great most of the times. I agree Adam should had went home the first time he served raw food and then low and behold he served raw food, AGAIN! And was not sent home! I couldn't believe it! When it comes to cooking serving raw food is absolutely the worst and for sure if someone had gotten sick there would had been more commotion about it. The ones getting upset over Aaron's buffet food when he had cooked the best foods on most of the shows and when all cooks can have a bad day, but to compare him not going home for that to Adam's raw foods and no doubt Adam should had went home more times than Aaron should had.

The way Lisa treated others is inexcusable! The producer told Lisa he did not want her coming off as a smarty pants! Too late, she already had. She is talented all right, but not enough for me to over look her rudeness to the other contestants!

That is what I call the epitome of an ironic statement. THIS, folks, is why reality television is what it is today. "Klassy" folks making statements such as this.

Makes ya proud to be an American, doesn't it?

What is up with that rude anonymous commenter several up in response to Jenna? With that language, I don't think he/she is qualified to determine what is or is not classy.
I would like to vouch for Lisa (and Jenna) and corroborate that the restaurant is indeed FABULOUS. I'm not from Dallas, but have eaten there several times while on business. And Suze has been featured in Bon Appetit.
If the majority of FN viewers are in fact like rude anonymous above, then there is no question as to why the network is dumbing it down. We can't have Lisa making stupid people feel stupid.

Regarding Aaron's son, I should think it reasonable to assume he returned after the finale was taped as he was conspicuously absent from the finale family footage. Perhaps not, though. Regardless, it doesn't negate at all the point I was making, which was about audience perception, not necessarily the same as reality. I am thoroughly convinced that if all the particulars we do know about this (which is to say very, very little) had been the same save one difference - make it one of the female contestants making that confession and still deciding to be on the show - and the reaction by the judges and by folks in the forums would have likely been quite different. There is a double standard at play between what it's ok for a mother to do and what it's ok for a father to do. A father could stay on with the show and be seen as helping his family; a mother would have been trashed as a fame whore.

I.e. Big Daddy got a free ride on such perceptions; big or little mama wouldn't have.

In any case, I'm not unhappy that Aaron won; I just would have preferred to watch a show with Lisa. And I am unhappy - if rumors are true - that apparently 2 of the 3 finalists actually got shows and Lisa is not one of them...which seems unfair to me. I hope Lisa shows up elsewhere; any bone the FN throws her way at this point will probably not be worth picking up.

This was RIGGED! there is no way that Aaron was better that Lisa and Adam... truth of the matter is... have you seen the new FN lineup? A lot of African American shows.... I think that has A LOT TO DO WITH the decision. Until this "win" I believed that FNS was about true talent both in the kitchen and on camera but I don't believe so anymore... I think Lisa was good... I think Adam was great... he has EVERYTHING. The committee said they were all good, but the question was... Who could start taping their own show "tomorrow"? and we all know that Aaron was NOT READY to start.... Adam certainly was... Lisa was almost there... SHAME ON YOU FOOD NETWORK for deceiving us...

At 8/02/2008 8:19 AM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

Foodnetwork did not deceive me or anyone else which includes the majority that voted for Aaron!! All the sore losers must not had realized Aaron won the Foodnetwork poll out of the three remaining contestants by a BIG MARGIN!! Kelsey was the only one ahead of Aaron and on her exit interview (not interview at the final show in which case she said she wanted either Aaron or Adam to win) she plainly stated she wanted Aaron to win!!

Adam did awful on the foodnetwork poll. Way down the list he only had 5 or 6 percentage of the viewers so I guess I am not the only one that thought he should had been eliminated the first time he served raw food and then when he served raw food, AGAIN, why wasn't he gone then? I like Adam but he is no where near as good of cook as Aaron! Look at Adam's creditials! They speak for itself. Adam's restaurant failed and he is no chef. Aaron has been a chef at several restaurants and has his own restaurant, too!! In addition to being the chef at CATERING at the university hospital. No comparison between the two so if you don't like Aaron you don't need to be a sore loser about it. Just don't watch his show!

Most of the viewers called it correct and most of the contestants and viewers saw Lisa's real personality which is being mean and rude to others!

Foodnetwork did not deceive anyone.

(Lots of Dallas PR people at work here.)

You missed the best quote she had, where she states the she is not creating an image for herself but by dressing so high end she is in fact really helping others. How many versions of the wardrobe issue have we heard?

Did anyone else notice her 'new' accent.

I watched the video before I read anything about it. My draw dropped at the shear arrogance and rudeness of her comments and all said with such a 'warm' smile on her face. And if she honestly meant no harm that simply shows her lack of judgement and poor taste.

The fact that shesome how had the nerve to try and convince people that she never really wanted to win is proof of what a real fake she is.

It was obvious from day one that Lisa was the best person for the job - SHE WAS ROBBED. Maybe FN feels that they have enough white girls...

This is NOT about being a sore looser... it's about the fact that Aaron is NOT READY to have his own show... and as stated... I WON'T be watching his show... not because I am sore about who "won" but because I don't think Aaron is a good chef... he works in a hospital for God's sake... and he is sooo nervous in front of the camera... but like I said... they Gave Him the Show because Food Network is starting a new lineup with minority hosts to try to increase their viewer-ship. I stand by what I said and I know that many others feel the same way. I also like Kelsey too... she has a lot of charisma and I know she will be very famous regardless of being eliminated. Lastly... Food Network: If you want to incorporate a more diversified lineup in your network... I am all for it... BUT not by deceiving your viewers and giving Aaron a show that he clearly did not yet deserve.

At 8/02/2008 1:19 PM , Anonymous Anonymous said...

I really think some people are trying to be the deceivers (NOT Foodnetwork) the way they make it sound like Aaron ONLY worked in a hospital just as a cook! He catered for pete sake AND HE HAS BEEN A CHEF AT SEVERAL RESTAURANTS as well as OWNS his own restaurant!!! Much more qualifications than Adam even comes close to having, period! Adam was waiting on tables after his restaurant failed. Guess that would impress some of his cooking skills! I would have watched Adam just for entertainment but not for cooking! Aaron was much more ready than Adam who was pratically admitting on one of the videos that he wasn't ready! Kelsey did NOT want Lisa to win! And as so many have stated the only poll that all the viewers knew to vote at had Aaron winning hands down over both Lisa and Adam. What part of that is not being understood? Foodnetwork chose the winner that most of the viewers wanted, period!! So yes that makes all the whiners sore losers. Don't want to watch his show, fine, but no need to bash the winner or foodnetwork just because your favorite didn't win. I am sure they will all get great opportunities!

Yes, many viewers felt Lisa or Adam should had won, but plainly the MAJORITY of viewers wanted Aaron to win, plain and simple!!

WOW... talk about someone feeling that they have to "defend" why Aaron won... that in itself shows that you also feel he wasn't the TRUE WINNER... but you go ahead and keep "convincing" yourself that Aaron deserve to win, hey... -Whatever gets you through the day- right?

Not sure which poster you are referring to since alot of people are defending Aaron against the Foodnetwork bashers for choosing him but where do you come off that is to convince us Aaron deserved to win? That's sad that you think someone that would defend others is simply because they are trying to convince theirself. I guess if you ever defend yourself or anyone else for any reason in life that would mean you are trying to convince yourself that you are right. Wow, whatever makes you want to make it look right for you to bash foodnetwork's decision.

Racist to the core a lot of you people are on this site and it definitely doesn't just reflect under this one topic. "I won't be watching his show"....who cares? To Dalis and Patricia C and (make me laugh whydontcha), voiceofreason....why don't you 3 snots climb out from under Lisa's dress and stop licking her A** and just DEAL with the fact that your girl is a LAWHOOOO---SaHERRRRR! And esp to Dalis, you say your for a diversified line-up but your a LIAR! Making excuses like, "FN deceived us" & that the contest was "rigged". Puh-leez! Lisa was no more ready for her own show, (or television for that matter), than you haters are ready to see another black person on FN and you know it. Maybe you Lisa supporters could send her a consolation prize of different sized mixing bowls. Not to use for cooking, but to fit over her head for her "stylish" hairdoos! Uh, she's so chic! And those bangs are HEAVENLY! They truly are.

Love the blog here, but while you're slamming Rachael for being a money-grubber, how about Bobby? Now he's got a new one that smacks of Kitchen Nightmares. How many danged shows is he going to line up? Not that I don't like them. Same with Guy... I'd watch him ALL DAY. And let's be honest. If you could make more money, wouldn't you? Especially if you can do good in the world. I'm an un-ashamed Rachael fan - I bought her cookware and I adore it. I cook her recipes all the time, as well as those of the rest of the FN stars. (I even deep fried bacon last weekend - it was GOOD! Thanks, Paula! And the Neelys BBQ rub is a staple in my kitchen. Ina's Pavlova was dinner on Thursday. YUM.) If the food looks good, I'm off to the store for the ingredients and then I invite the neighbors over. THAT is what the Food Network is all about. Rachael is a bright spot in my day. I don't understand where this animosity came from.

Wow... someone's bitter... I guess you didn't watch the show and you didn't see how nervous Aaron was everything he had talk and cook at the same time in front of the camera... he would stop cooking to talk... HELLOOOO!!! it's called multi-tasking! and HE CAN"T do it... everybody else was able to... so what does that tell you mr or mrs Chicken (Opps I mean Anonymous). But not to worry, Aaron will have his 15 minutes (make that 5 minutes) of fame... there... you happy now?

I have read negative comments about ALL three contestants on how they did on camera. None of the contestants had ever been on TV before (except for I think it was Kelsey?) and so many have to bash the contestants for not coming off as pros in 8 weeks. Amazing! I have read how many re-takes MANY famous stars take during their filming and they are pros. I, too, watched the behind the scenes and I feel from what Adam himself said that he was unsure if he could do it!!!! The multitasking that is. Sure he was good on camera (not as a cook) but he even sounded like that would be too hard for him to talk and cook at the same time and during his re-takes I could tell he was struggling to talk and cook at the same time. I think the Foodnetwork wanted someone with cooking skills first and then they would work with them in regards to camera appearance like SO MANY STARS have to be worked with to start with.

I JUST WATCHED THE SHOW.... it's should be called "Big Daddy's Grease Show" wow he did a great job making GREASE with some additional ingredients in it... Oil here... Oil there... Oil everywhere... hey all you people that defended him... you should have waited to see the show... now you can see that we were right... HE DID NOT DESERVE TO WIN... he barely had any sponsors... his hands were all shiny dripping with grease.... YUCK!!!

Grease? Aaron used Grape Seed Oil which is one the best oils there is, period! While I am not sure about cooking with it as far as lowering cholestrol, I use it to make homemade mayo and after years of high cholestrol, grape seed oil was the only thing that helped lower mine! I think Aaron also used Olive Oil but mostly he used grape seed oil. If you don't like it, fine, but it's great and I love it! I do make sure I get a all natural, preservative free, Grape Seed Oil with no synthetics in it or anything else that can be harmful. I feel sure other chefs use Grape Seed Oil, but Aaron is the only chef I've seen use it.

Gooooooddddd.... you go ahead and have a nice glass of good old Grape Seed Oil and drink to your health.... have you ever heard that you should NEVER USE ANYTHING IN EXCESS???? Food SHOULD NOT be shinning with loads of oil just because it's "grape seed oil" that's just plain ignorant....

Some people that are so quick to be judgmental as if you want Aaron to mess up. Yes, Grape Seed Oil is very healthy! But for sure you can use something else and why in the world would you people that don't like Aaron or feel he should not had won, why are you watching him?
Go ahead find fault it seems to make your day. And make sure you exaggerate how much oil he used.

All the talk about the oil so thought I would look to see how much Aaron used. 1/4 cup Grape Seed Oil for 2 pounds of potatoes is not excessive by far. And then taking into account how many people are eating the potatoes makes it not that much oil at all that each person consumes!

I guess the critics would had rather Aaron used some really unhealthy grease so their complaint would had been more legit. It would not take much oil to make potatoes look oily.

And for someone's health to improve and for their cholesterol to come down deserves to be commended not criticized! That's a wonderful accomplishment and I don't think it would had happened if they were using too much.

Yeah ummmmmm....Dalis....after venting in your blog, you are CLEARLY a headcase. At least that explains all the negativity you unleash in here and it certainly explains why you are mad a MAN won. Since you like to bake so much, next time you preheat the oven, stick your head in it next time!

LMAO! it's not about a MAN winning... it's about the WRONG MAN winning.... as far as sticking my head in the oven..... well you sure sound mature by that comment... And I do LOVE to bake and it's nice to talk like you just did without showing your name so go ahead Mr or Mrs Coward and keep defending your hospital line cook under ANONYMOUS.... If you saw the show... you know what I am talking about.... we all know the show was NOT GOOD AT ALL.... let's not kid ourselves... he kept talking about how his son came up with one of the recipes and his son was right there and he wasn't even able to bring him in to show how he "helped him make it before" (LIAH!) And then his other son.... what's with just showing the picture? it was a poorly made show... maybe he is not to blame, maybe it's the producers fault for not directing him properly... who knows? but he is NO GUY FIERI! that's for sure.... that's a true winner, his show is entertaining... helpful.... and his food looks incredible... which is far from Aaron's "Big Greasy (I mean Daddy's) show....

I just wonder if Dalis is critical of all the other chefs on the Foodnetwork that use unhealthy ingredients? I know so many of them including Aaron use butter, butter, butter (even though Aaron did not use butter in today's episode) I just have to wonder if it's all the unhealthy cooking with all the chefs that Dalis would be critical of, or just some of them or just Aaron!?

Well I have to say that I do like MOST Food Network Chefs like I said before... it's NOT using unhealthy ingredients... it's using TOO MUCH of them! Read before you type....

Lisa annoyed me at first, but towards the end I thought she was getting ripped for no good reason: Some folks on the internet saying she's a "strong woman" as a negative? Why is that a negative?

That said: agreed, Jacob: she's just trying to justify having lost.

If you think more Grape Seed Oil is more unhealthy than using less butter you sure don't know much about eating or cooking healthy!

And I have seen many of the other chefs use LOTS of butter. Oh, yes, they say, and add a "little butter" when you can see very clearly they are using more than a little butter! There is a lot of unhealthy cooking by the chefs on Foodnetwork, in restaurants, other cooking shows! No need to pick on any one of them for doing something that most, if not all of them do!

It was great seeing Aaron use something that is definitely more healthy such as Grape Seed Oil!
1/4 cup of Grape Seed Oil for 2 pounds of potatoes is NOT excessive!

Butter in any amount never lowered anyone's cholesterol!!

Anonymous @ 8:43 said that some on this post are racist for saying that Aaron won because he is black. NO - what is racist is a hiring practice that favors a less qualified individual because he/she is a minority. In MY OPINION, FN was racist for hiring Aaron because he was not the best person for the job but he got it anyway to serve FN's agenda.

BTW, why did they choose the Neely's show (which I love) to have Aaron appear on???? Coincidence? I think not.

I saw none of the competition, don't have personal opinions of the competitors, so I'm saying this without an axe to grind. Objectively, that comment of hers was smug and condescending - in no way do I interpret it as kindness or generosity of spirit. It came across as indiscreet and patronizing, and if I were the winner, I'd be offended by both.
