Sunny, Officially Crazy, Eats World's Hottest Pepper

I like spicy food a lot, but after watching this video of Sunny Anderson take a bite of a bhut jolokia, certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's hottest chili pepper, remind me to never eat anything she says is a "little hot."

I can just picture my tongue bursting into flames. Sunny is a trooper!

What's crazy is I'm not even sure if this was also shot for the show (How'd That Get On My Plate?) that Sunny was on-location for during this superhot taste test. It must have just seemed like a fun thing to do!

Wow... I'm gonna go eat some "Medium" salsa now, tough guy that I am.

2 minutes into the clip and I'm totally bored. Kinda like her "Cooking For Real" show. Enough of this nonsense Jacob. How about an update on my girl Anne Burrell. Where did her show go? Is she coming back? What's new with her?

I agree with Charles. I am not at all interested in Sunny's shows but would love to hear about Anne Burrell's show as well as the new Cooking Loft show with Alexandra Guarnaschelli.

I've heard unofficially that Anne Burrell's show was renewed for more episodes, but have not seen anything about it directly from Food Network. I'm hopeful, though. A post about the cooking loft is coming up shortly.

Real classy, take a bite of food, smush it around, try and swallow some of it, and then open your mouth wide for the camera so we all can have a good gag.

next.

FN sure can find the dummies
to populate their shows.

Aren't her 15 minutes up yet?

I just don't understand this. Ok. Some varieties of Habaneros can easily reach 500,000 Scoville units.
This pepper is 10 times the potency. Blisters the tongue(and anything else) upon contact.

So the point was ? Real dumb.

I do like Sunny. She's cute and relatable and, well, sunny. But, dang, I am also fast approaching overload with this one.

Man, when FN latches onto a concept they want to sell they will beat relentlessly to death. To the point that Jacob's posts about Sunny make me roll my eyes.

I mean, I'm still hearing "WE'RE NOT GONNA BE READY!!!" in my nightmares...

TY Jacob! I hope I didn't come across to harsh in my previous post but I just thought the clip was really stupid. Soooooo glad to hear about Anne Burrell I hope more episodes are coming!

She's pretty stupid for touching the pepper, and then putting her fingers near her eyes, and then back in her mouth.

Well, that's 4 minutes I'll never get back. Sorry, Jacob, I don't understand your fascination with Sunny.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: I love Sunny!

(But girl, you crazy for that pepper business!)

I agree with rachel. I could not BELIEVE how close her finger came to her eyeball after handling that pepper. This video clip would have gone another 30 minutes and ended up in the ER if she had gotten that in her eye. How stupid.

What is it about Sunny that entertains people? Because it escapes me. I've tried watching her several times, just can't make it through an entire show. And no, I don't have a miserable existence and I don't hate her because I have no life myself and I'm not jealous....for all you arm chair Frasier Cranes out there. hah.

I tried watching her show on Saturday at noon. 12:02 I shut the TV off.
