Aaron "Big Daddy" McCargo Renewed for 13 More Episodes
Aaron McCargo Jr. (don't really understand why they cut the "Jr." from the show and now have that weird opening where Bobby Flay's voice just cuts off) got renewed for 13 more episodes of Big Daddy's House.
Let's hope Gordon gets his act together for this next bunch. [Source]

Thank goodness!! So glad we now have a wider variety of cooking shows. I love Aaron's recipes and cooking skills.
ALL of you that was so sure YOU just knew (or sounded like you knew) Aaron's show would flop, never make it, would be a disaster, well, I just love it you know it all's being so wrong :)
No one is going to like all the Foodnetwork shows. That's why it's great they have so many to choose from but think if I didn't like a show I would either just say so, or not watch it, not want it to fail, not try to predict it's gloom and doom, because in doing so just made those of you that wanted it to fail look like sore losers and whiners!
I am happy for everyone's success whether or not I like them.
CONGRADULATIONS Aaron! You did it even in the midst of all those so very jealous of you and your success.
By the way Aaron was also on RR show on CBS and he will be doing something at times on that show with some other chefs.
I am happy the show is renewed. I love watching him and his food looks good. The kind of food I call good homestyle food. I like varity in cooking shows and Big Daddy's house bring just that to the food network. He has a lot of supporters. I'm glad he "makin it"

When this site did a negative blog on Aaron's show last week (pretending it was about Gordon), you had over 100 posts praising the author forthe article.
Now they are all eating crow.There are only 9 posts. The haters are hurting this morning.
I have always said this is a personal thing with the Author of this blog.
This is what FN wanted. They just wanted a different personality to add different viewers (not based on race as the author of this site has mentioned before).
I hope now this author will just except Aaron or change the station.

The person who wrote this is obviously of low intellect, perhaps not even understanding the basics of free speech,but I would like to add a couple of things.
The post Jake put up might have been one of the more insightful pieces about certain aspects of FN programming and in most likelihood is being used as reference by a variety of mainstream media outlets who do not have the level of understanding or grasp of Food programming as the Addict does.
This is basic journalism in which the author presented hard facts.
I don't know why you have your apron in a knot Pal, but McCargo's show is a low budget Gordon Elliot piece of crap, designed to attract a specific viewer and to which I have a hunch many will choose to switch the channel.
All you doinks that think we hate MCargo or are jealous of his " success" should probably know the backlash is directed not only at him, but the fools at FN and Gordo Elliot who will prostitute themselves for a buck. Gotta have that diversity. TFN execs chose him over more qualified contestants to fill a spot and make their diversity target. So it just keeps a free time slot on the DVR and more time to read on Sunday.
I voted with my Nielsen booklet. Over last period TFN is down from 7.5 hours per day to 9 hours a week.
Just because his show got renewed doesn't mean it's GOOD, like some of you ridiculous posters using flawed logic seem to believe.
I believe the FN is still looking to "diversify" and Aaron fills that need.

Well, that is usually the case with many people that do not spell a word correctly when typing, they simply hit the wrong key, but you want to judge everyone that's not perfect and I agree, it's much more important how we treat others than if every word is perfectly spelled or typed!
I don't think all the comments defending Aaron is Aaron LOL Obviously, he could not be millions of people watching his own program which helped get it renewed.
Why can't you Aaron haters just be glad for his success even if you don't like the man? But it doesn't matter the man is successful like it or not.
There are many programs I do not like but I don't start a campaign to have the show removed or go around finding fault with those that like the show.

I believe the subject and verb in the above sentence do not quite match. It should be "You are calling" or "You call." The irony is wonderful.
Aaron's show sucks. It's nothing personal against him. The show sucks and I don't watch it and I'm disappointed that someone who can cook something a little different didn't win.
What it boils down to is that his show is disappointing.

Of course his show was renewed. TNFNS judges would look like absolute fools if the winner couldn't make it past six episodes. That doesn't mean his show is any good. IMO, his show stinks, and the recipes are pure garbage.
I take my hat off to Amy Finley for not wanting onto the FN circus merry-go-round and being one of their stooges.

OMG: I cannot believe people are arguing over a FN show.. Get a life. There are plenty of FN shows I don't like. I don't bash them I just don't watch. If you watch FN then it obviously means you have cable TV so turn the channel for 30 minutes. This is ridiculious
Congrats Aaron. You deserved to win. You have a lot of talent, skill, personality and a nice vibe. It was obvious that the judges LOVED the BIG taste and flavor in your recipes.
There is obviously a market for your good old fashioned, great tasting, comfort, SOULfull food.
I’ve watched your first couple of shows of “Big Daddy’s House” and the food looked good… too good! I believe it would work best for people like me who like to avoid saturated fats, carbs and the like if you would suggest the low-cal, healthy options for your dee-lish, down-home dishes.

I'm sorry, but the show does suck. When he smiles, he always looks like it hurts internally to do so, and from what I hear, and this is NOT confirmed... TFN supplies him with his recipes for each show, and he has to learn how to cook them. Apparently he has no real control over content, and why would he? He is just the front man, and Food Network is the talent.
Aaron obviously is great chef but I agree with he comments that wen he smiles he looks pained, and when he tastes his own food he looks absolutly disgusted by it. That doesnt mean he sucks just that a show on FN obvi isnt his forte. I mean I tried to watch a few episodes cuz some of the recipes looked interesting but then he tastes them at the end and looks like he's about to throw up doesnt make me want to hit their website to get that recipe.

Glad to know that "Big Daddy's House has been renewed. Love the variety in his menus. My grandson is watching his show and might be inspired to be a chef someday so I'm very appreciative of Food Network for giving Aaron another chance. Keep those monster recipes comin', Big Daddy!!

I know all you Neely and Big Daddy supporters are probably black just like the people still supporting Obama are black. And some of you reading this may even think I'm racist -- but it's the other way around. By supporting black people (if you're black) regardless of their skills and not supporting white people regardless of their skiils.... who would be the racist? Aha!
