Foodnetwork.com Revamped; Bob's Blog Debuts

Foodnetwork.com has been completely revamped with a new look, bigger pictures, and (very annoying) videos (that autoplay when you go to the individual show or chef pages). Plus, Bob Tuschman's new blog (Bob's Blog) has launched!

Bob answers some of his most-asked questions in his first post--my favorite being the "worst pitches" he's received. Go read it.

While I agree that a silent cooking show would be a little tough to watch, I think a drag cooking show could be good (RuPaul, perhaps?) and even a puppet one might be watchable (puppets don't get to eat enough on camera).

The site is still a bit much... but it's getting better. What do you think?

I hate the program schedule enough so that I won't use it!

I don't think this site works for most of us. And, Jacob, I agree with you on those darn videos, how annoying! Your site is WAY BETTER!

The navigation is sooo poor that I can't even find when my shows are going to be on...so annoying, not to mention those lame videos that kickstart when I don't even want them to!!

Redesign again, please!

I don't like the new site either. I usually check out the scheules (recipies included) in the morning, but that is gone. It's just too much now.

HATE it. It's so hard to find what I want to find. But I think we all know what kind of boobs are running the site. And for that matter, what kind of boobs are running the network.

So far, I'm not liking it too much either. Always hate when I go onto a website and it automatically starts playing a video. I like to be the one to decide if I want to watch it.

The new TV schedule page stinks, too. I can't seem to get past the current week to view upcoming episodes.

And is it just me? I can't find Tush's blog. If I can find it, can I post to it and tell him what I think about some of his shows? -- Paula's Party comes immediately to mind.

I don't care for it either. I went to print a recipe and 3 pop ups came on advertising all these items I do not want. Just plain annoying.
I liked the old site.

Those darn videos are driving me nuts! What idiot engineered that and what b00b approved it??

Awful. I'd rather drink ketchup.

You're right Becca. Giada's. :>

I am surprised that Thushface can type with his head so far up his ass.

There is way too much going on the first page, though. I don't think it is a vast improvement over the old site. And the old site wasn't that great.

I do like that you can search resent episodes for recipes.

Everyone in charge of any aspect of FN needs to be fired.

Haven't gotten used to it yet - I like the old one better

Did you read all the comments at Bob's blog ?

It would appear these FN bloggers are using a few shills to plant favorable comments to Bob, such as Darryl Wilmuth's suspicious comment
about the Robert Irvine situation.

Nice try. Astroturfing at Bob's blog. What a hack organization . Insulting viewers intelligence once again by being deceitful.

I thought it was just me BUT the new site AWFUL. It's very confusing, it takes you for ever to find anything. All we want is to find a show (like the old site) go to it and get the recipie's. Your eyes get tired. AND those stupid video's everywhere. I MUTE them. Probably won't be going on much anymore only if I need a recipie. OH I do like the RED color!!!!!

Firefox plus flashblock extension = no more automatically playing videos!

Firefox plus setting the pop up blocker option = no more annoying pop ups!

Still doesn't help with making us jump through hoops to see the TV schedule WITH recipes. For that I just satisfy myself once a day to register a complaint!

Thanks, jackiecat for where we should write to register complaints. I always find it very difficult to write to these people. And I absolutely hate those videos that pop up, yuck! The new site is really hard to navigate and I'm all for trying new things as long as they work, but, whew! I was exhausted and frustrated and I used to use the FN site all of the time. Oh well, guess I'll just have to try something different.

"Why don’t you weigh 500 pounds? ... While all the food cooked on shows is 100% real, it’s also 100% off limits to staff. ... My lunch most days? A tuna or peanut butter sandwich while screening shows. So much for glamour."

Tuna sandwiches, this explains a lot about the judging on NFNS.

I just went in for the first time to get a sweet and sour chicken idea and.............crazy vids and everythings moved......I guess I'll get used to it, but for now I'm NOT HAPPY!!!!

Oh, the new site is a disaster!!! Navigation is terrible and they've relegated the TV part of it to some dark corner of the home page. Not nearly as inviting. The old site had its issues, but this one is 100 times worse.

Get rid of the damn autoplay videos! The old site was bad, but this one is worst! Too many hoops to jump thru just to get the frigging info you're looking for.

How BAD is this new site. I HATE IT. Check out FN Canada its great and easy to surf. The cooking show are great also.

Food network Canada has some good shows that aren't offered in the US.

Conforming to a law that a certain % of programs must be CDN content.

You think reruns are part of Food Network USA ? You ain't seen reruns like these CDN's do reruns. They will repeat shows several dozen times over a two month period, in primetime even.

And their blog lady,KAtherine, she surfs this site looking for topic matter. Usually the next day after Jacob breaks it, she will rerun it.
