Where I'm Also Blogging - Delish.com

(This isn't the big news, but it's still big news.)

Tuesday was the official launch of the new Hearst/MSN food site Delish.com -- and I'm blogging for it!

My blog there, The Secret Ingredient, covers Iron Chef America exclusively.

Thanks to all of you who have sent me info on the Iron Chef video game. I haven't mentioned it here, because I already blogged about it on Delish!

I've also posted about staying across the street from Mario Batali's Babbo, my theory that the Chairman really is "The Chairman", and a recap of the recent battle: snails.

So please: visit, read, and comment!

There is a lot of good stuff on the site. Let me know what you think.

And I'll still be here, of course. I'm not going anywhere. This is just going to be a fun opportunity to blog about ICA -- a show I don't always post enough about here -- on a brand new site with lots of other content.

*************

So glad it's Thursday.

Maybe that's why this site isn't being updated as often. It's gotten a bit sparse.

GIADA NEWS!!! didn't know where else to post this:

Giada de Laurentiis graces the cover of Page Six Magazine this week. Known best for being the seductive chef behind Food Network’s Everyday Italian and author of two New York Times best-selling cookbooks, Giada talked about her childhood in Italy, success as a renowned chef, her favorite food spot in Manhattan, and happiness as a wife and mother.

Giada admits she doesn’t wear the highest of necklines on her show, but denies an intentional sex appeal approach:

“Porn? I’m not doing porn! What the hell are people talking about? [It’s not] PBS-style cooking. I mean, I love Lidia [Bastianich], but [she’s] kind of boring. And Mario Batali [I] love to death…but he’s not romantic or sensual. Those are the things I bring to the table.”

Everyday Italian is now on a break, but that only means Giada found a plethora of other projects to fill her plate. Her new show, Giada at Home, a fourth cookbook, her dress-designing husband Todd, and Jade, her “peanut” of a daughter keep her more than occupied.

There was once a time where having children, or even marriage, didn’t seem to be on the menu.

“I never cared about marriage. I was more worried about working, and really didn’t think I’d have kids. Then Todd turned 40 and I guess he thought to himself, ‘I think I’d like to marry Giada.’”

Giada hopes to instill an appreciation for her home country in her daughter, by singing her the Italian lullabies that were once sang to her as a child. Her husband has other plans to throw into the family pot.
“He will always tell the story of how his grandmother would take him to McDonald’s and Burger King. And he says, ‘I can’t wait to take Jade.’”

For more on Giada de Laurentiis, check out this week’s issue of Page Six Magazine, free inside the Sunday edition of the New York Post and online on Monday at www.pagesixmag.com.

What a bitch Giada is. I'd like to see Lidia (a REAL Italian cook who actually KNOWS how to cook) kick her scrawny ass. Lidia is classy, Giada is uppity trash.

Giada looks like a bobblehead.

Lidia and Mario have forgotten more about food than Giada knows.

This broad is really starting to bother me.

I think she should stick to pastry and leave real food to people that know what they are doing.

Giada is all about creating images. Her insistence in referring to Husband as "fashion designer" when yes, he does work for an apparel company, but doesn't do much design. Maybe copies more than anything.

Lidia and Mario are ten times the chef Giada will ever be!

She only got her cooking show because of her last name, which isn't even her real last name. Her mother is a DeLaurentiis, I don't know who her father is.
