Paula Deen and Co. Roll Into NYC, BK Style
Paula Deen and her husband Michael Groover are in New York City this weekend for the NYC Wine and Food Festival, which features some of the finest cuisine, pastries, and wine in the world.
Even so, Paula's just fine with a big ole' Coke from Burger King!
Does Paula make her fans sign the autographs for her? She can't be bothered to put down her bag or drink, you know.

But when you're at the top it always a good thing to conduct yourself well so that yo're a good example to those who are struggling . This woman is an abomination . The fact that Paula Deen's program's still exist on the Food Network is evidence enough for me that Bob Tuschman has no concern that his programming is tasteful . He's like Paula Deen . All that he cares about is profit .

My sister and her family attended Paula Deen's live show in Tunica . They were so appalled by the filth that she spewed during the show . And, they're not prudish people either. They were big fans but I can truthfully say that they're not anymore .
I think that she receives so much criticism from posters to this blog because people are just turned off by her . She used to be so nice to watch . But , now I'm sorry to say she is just disgusting.

My questions are: Where are her advisors? And, why aren't they letting her know to tone down the filth? I'm not just talking about employees (like an agent, manager, etc.). I'm also talking about her family. Have they grown so used to it that they are immune to how it comes across? Or is she just so controlling (have gotten that impression from things I've read) that she feels she's right even when she's wrong.
And, another question. Do these event planners ever invite her back another year? Might be interesting to know.
As long as she has fans that screech and scream after her like a rock star . And , fans who pay exorbitant prices for tickets to her shows , for her merchandise and her restaurant she will continue her act as always . Sad for a 61 year-old grandmother ...
Speaking of Paula,i went to Barnes&Nobles the other day and i saw a huge poster staring at me with Paula's face on it.It was an add for her new children's cook book full of "kind-friendly" recipies...So instead of using 3 sticks of butter in her food she uses 1 1/2??Gross.
Speaking of children and young people , I wish that she could be the sweet grandmotherly person that she once was in her earlier shows . Now that was a wonderful inspiration for a little child to come into the kitchen to learn to cook !

Coming from Alabama , I can tell you that the term " trailer trash " is used to describe those individuals exhibiting TRASHY or TASTELESS behavior . It has NOTHING to do with a person's station in life . I myself have been very,very poor almost to the brink of being homeless . But ,I have never been trashy . I have seen Paula Deen's Live show in person and I can tell you that woman is TRASHY . There is no need for that kind of behavior and NO excuse for it . That was the biggest waste of my time and hard-earned money that I can think of . If that offends someone so be it !

I like Paula Deen - however she's getting as overexposed as some of the other Food Network host/hostesses - that is the problem. How do you keep it fresh and the hype going when you are everywhere??? It's gotta be tough - need to change it up. Look at Madonna - this is how she's been successful this long. And BTW - I absolutely LOVE Paula's son Bobby. Rich or poor I'd marry him in heartbeat.

I like Paula Deen. I did prefer her first years of shows more than the newer shows. I do not like the Paula's Party shows, they are very annoying and just don't fit with what Paula is good at.
I found her early shows interesting because of her explaining her southern cooking styles. I still like the Paula's Home Cooking shows when it is just about the food and her family stories. I like when she has her sons or Michael on with her though, but beyond that I don't like guests on the show.
I don't understand nastiness towards her on this site. The cussing, etc., I have never seen that side myself. I went to a home show demonstration performance that she put on about three years ago and she couldn't have been nicer. I don't have a problem with someone coming from having nothing to making something of themselves.

You were fortunate NOT to see one of her Paula Deen Live stage shows . ENTIRELY different venue . And , I used NO profanity describing Ms. Deen's unfortunate performance . Just because you are not aware of or haven't paid an expensive ticket price to see a show of nothing but nastiness and TMI about her bodily functions doesn't mean that Paula Deen isn't guilty of these descriptions . I was incredibly disappointed .
I don't berudge anyone working their way to success ... But I do have issues with someone who let's it go to their head . They are then in the position of being obnoxious ... For many people Paula Deen has assumed that undesirable persona .

Ms. Deen, Ms. Deen, what are we going to do with you? It was leather weekend in the MPD, and for some reason, I was unfazed by the lady on the sidewalk in the leather bra, yet was fainthearted after Paula Deen’s appearance yesterday at Comix. Before I share with y’all (pronounced "YOWL") the nuggets that made Paula Deen’s the most offbeat event I attended at the NYWFF (and keep in mind, I saw Gordon Ramsay call the French cannibals and Ferran Adria’s liquid nitrogen slide show) let me just say: The audience loved Paula. They came in loving her, and probably left loving her more. There was a standing O when she appeared, they laughed at all her jokes, they let her sit in their laps and spray them with whipped cream. It was kinda sweet—and very creepy.
The Southern-fried belle, with a hairdo that Billy Joel told her "looks like feathers"—"You and Rod Stewart wear that shag and I sure do like it," she paraphrased—dished out a combination of back-woods vaudeville, Oprah-esque advice (from her own hard-earned experience—she revealed that she was agoraphobic for 20 years), and some unexpected humor. Out of her hour on stage, only 15 minutes were devoted to cooking. But the audience didn’t seem to mind one bit. Some highlights (or low points, depending on who you ask):
-Deen randomly announced that her husband and sidekick, Michael Groover, had done DIY surgery on a bone spur on his hand by using a pull tab from a soda can. Two days ago. On a plane. And it got infected. Now he’s on stage. Preparing food.
-Deen removed a couple of silver-colored extensions from her hair, and kept clipping them on and off while chatting with the crowd before eventually using one to cover an audience member’s bald spot.
-Another baldy that Deen really liked was used by her as an arm chair: "It’s not every day I get to look at y’all in the eye, and chat with y’all and"—gasp—"make out with y’all." Then she went in for a kiss—on the cheek.
-Called the Neeleys "the black Deens"
-Took a can of Reddi Whip (from her cooking demo, natch) into the audience, sprayed a rosette onto a man’s head and then ate it
When Deen finally made it into the kitchen, she relished every opportunity to infuse innuendo while making her "porky-pine meatballs." Though Deen was there plugging her new children’s cookbook, you never would have guessed it. Paula, the next cake you eat should be made out of soap.
Yay ! Thank You God ! FINALLY somebody sees this person for what she REALLY is ! HALLELUJAH !

Obviously the show is almost over for Paula. I think it might be considered a huge social faux pas if you admit to watching her talk show. I think some of the comments on here are cruel and mean, because obviously Mrs. Dean has worked hard to get to where she is today (since I am also a panic attack sufferer I know how hard it must have been for her dealing with that disorder). However, I do agree that she has certainly went down-hill from the good ol' days of Paula's Home Cookin. I don't know which personality is her real self. Is it the toned down, Grandmotherly version on Paula's Home Cookin or the obnoxious, overly sex crazed version on Paula's party? Whatever the case, I liked her way better when she first came out, and was more down to earth, and not so loud and dirty minded - now, not so much.
Wow......I just found this place and it reflects on the writers more than the FN "stars" Vile and endearing at the same time, Paula has fallen into exactly what regular TV is.........garbage ! Tischman screwed NFNS, wrecked the WEBSITE and is blowing the whole network away ! To Anononymous 7:20: How come so much attention has been made to Bobby Deen being gay? My question to you and all the others that swear that he is "gay" how do you know??? Did he ask you out? Expose himself to you??? I have read where others have said "my gadar goes off when I see him??" What kind of crap is that?? Just because the man is not married -- doesn't make him gay?? How can anyone watch Deen's shows? I saw her on a talk show and almost threw up. It's not just her vulgar behavior; she continually licks her fingers and then touches both cooked and uncooked food. I would never do that, even just cooking for my husband and myself. Yuck.
