Is Food Network Getting PBS' Daisy Martinez?

I've never seen Daisy Martinez's show "Daisy Cooks" on PBS, but I assume some of you have. Not sure if it's the same Daisy, but who do you think could be the host of a show called "Viva Daisy," currently appearing on Food Network's 1Q 2009 schedule

Would seem to make sense. Daisy is an experiened Latina chef (something Food Network could use a few more of) and has TV experience. Here she is on Today.

Maybe possibly?

Daisy is what Ingrid Hoffman should have been. I watched Daisy on PBS and loved her and her food! I hope she is coming to Food Network!

How did you get ahold of their Q109 plans? Did Ina slip them to you during the special?

Oh! I hope it's true! Daisy Cooks is a great show! I watch PBS's cooking shows, more than FN now! They have a lot of talent on that channel! Thanks for the info J! :)

I like Daisy and hope she gets a FN show. Many Rachael fans may know her from her recipes in Everyday With Rachael Ray. I love Ingrid Hoffmann though and think FN is making a mistake by not using her more in their specials and other programming. The woman is hot and spicy. FN is only pushing Guy and Sunny over and over again.

I really like Daisy, so I hope it's true.
I have to agree with johnned regarding Ingrid. I like her too. I didn't at first because it seemed like FN was just using her as eye candy with no substance, but I noticed that in subsequent seasons her clothing was a bit more modest and the show was more about the food than about her. I think if FN featured her in more specials and shows she would be a much bigger hit.

Oh man, I totally did the gay inhale when I saw the subject line. I loved Daisy Martinez on PBS, both for her personality and for her recipes. She'd be a definite asset for FN.

I can't remember where I had read (maybe RR's magazine or her website?) but she and Rach were working on something "new" they were pretty vague. This could be just what it is.

She was a guest on The Rachael Ray Show and she mentioned that they were working something together but they weren't specific. I like Daisy too. Ingrid not so much.

I love Daisy, I'm so glad to see her on FN, her cookbook is amazing. BTW- she's Puerto Rican, not Mexican.

FINALLY! My fave Latina chef has been picked up and recognized by FN. Waaayyy too long, but well worth the wait in my opinion.
And while I agree that FN initially used Ingrid as eye candy, her style has changed to highlight the food. But NO ONE BEATS DAISY!
She's the real deal.
Sigue p'alante, hermana!

Whether she is or she isn't, you guys have convinced me to start watching Daisy on PBS.

LOL @ Pat 7:37 AM I did the inhale too. I love Daisy. I want to buy her book and make the roasted pork on her Christmas episode that looked gorgeous. I just hope FN doesn't flip-flop her show to various hard-to-watch time slots.

Por fin! FN wised up and landed Daisy. When I first saw Ingrid, all I could think was - "Why didn't they get Daisy?" I love her book, love her show, love her attitude and passion. Wepa!
