Spelling is Fun!

I guess the people of Savannah are on a first-name basis with Paula Deen's sons "Jaime" and Bobby... at least that's what I think after reading this WTOC (a CBS affiliate in Savannah) article advertising a Paula Deen Gooey Butter Cake contest.

Let's count the mistakes:
WTOC wants to know who can put the most creative spin on Paula's Gooey Butter Cake and come up with the yummiest concoction.

We want you to jot down what you would add to Paula's recipe and send it to us, and at the end of the contest we will select 5 random entries, and those will become finalist in our contest.

Once you are notified you are a finalist, your cake will be brought to life and taste tested by Jaime and Bobby, who will then select a winner.

The winner will be notified by email and phone and the taste testing will be aired on Mid-Morning the following day.

The winner will recieve dinner for 6 from The Lady and Sons', which must be picked up by the winner from The Lady and Sons' between 10:00 and 10:30am and be prepared to be on Mid-Morning Live while you recieve your prize from the Deens.

Remember, we want to know what you would add to Paula's recipe. For Example, in Paula's Sweet Potato Gooey Butter Cake, Paula adds one baked sweet potato to the top. Its that simple.

***********

Notice how the TV station never even mentions who "Jaime and Bobby" are. Everyone must know those boys down in Savannah, right?

And while this isn't as good as my favorite article written about the Deens, it still gave me a bit of a chuckle.

What a bottom of the barrel-Kmart type of contest this is . Jeez this TV station must be hurtin real bad to have to resort to a Butter cake contest.

Maybe Bobby will find someone to butter up his butt and make him happy.

Uh, OK, so this is a "cooking" contest, and they are going to select "5 random entries" to become "finalist" in the contest? So what if the random selection is something really nasty? Can "Jaime" and Bobby pass on that one, or would it be against the rules? I can see it now: Paula's Vegemite Gooey Butter Cake - just slather the top with Vegemite! LOL! (My advance apologies to all you Vegemite lovers out there)

They do things ass backwards in some places, and Savannah isn't exactly an intellectual hotbed if yeah know what I mean.

The fact they can't spell is a dead giveaway.

Probably have several guys called Dwayne working at the station.

Yeah this is a pretty lame contest.

I can see some needy butter groupies entering for a chance of a lifetime buffet meal at The Slop Trough and meeting the Brothers Dimm.

Morning TV in general is sort of moronic, but I'd say this is cranked up for the Savannah crowd and for the blue people that follow the Deen family.

Hmm, must have been a slow news day. I don't see the point of this post.
