Nigella Done Being "Domestic Goddess"???

How can this be?

Her cookbook may have been called "How To Be a Domestic Goddess," but international cookery queen Nigella Lawson is over the phrase so-often associated with her.

"Either you are a bitch who spends too long in the office and never sees your children, or you're some little throwback wanting to make things nice in the kitchen. And, of course, in real life women are both. Or neither. You have to find a way of integrating those two sides of yourself. Otherwise you go mad," said Nigella in an interview with The Radio Times and reported by the UK's Telegraph.

"You don't have to do the whole domestic goddess thing to revel in the solace of the hearth," she said. "If you want to put up fairy lights everywhere and then get pizza delivered, that's absolutely OK by me. I'd never say no to chips and curry sauce - I have very low tastes. Just that, a nice drink and some nice friends and I'd be happy."

So, chips and curry sauce instead of ham for Christmas this year, everyone?

She's 100% right.
She's got a sweet tooth and a beautiful figure.

She really has it all!

She's a beautiful woman who hasn't always had an easy life - she is truly a Goddess of domestic origin!!

What do you mean she hasn't always had an easy life ? Are you nuts?

She was a sponsored child from Day 1. She lost a husband to cancer, but quickly remarried another man.

This woman has had it rather easy.

Funny after having so much provided for her and having opportunities provided by her lineage, last year she told a UK paper she wouldn't leave a cent to any of her children. Look good on her.

She didn't say she wouldn't leave her kids a cent. She was interviewed after that and said she'd never leave her kids destitute, but wants them to know the good feeling of earning money for themselves.

Love that! We all need to teach our kids about money/management. Does anyone remeber your family teaching you a lesson at the grocery about what your family could afford?

Can anyone confirm if Nigella did indeed sign a contract to play middle linebacker for the NY Jets?

That's one sensational title, Jacob!
She's just ruminating on the way women get stuck in stereotypes. Nigella's a great chef with warmth, wit, and beauty. I wish she was on Food Network.

Even if she had re-married quickly, how can anybody use that to say she's had it easy? We don't know the degree of heartbreak that was there. Let's please reserve such cold-hearted judgement.
