Giada De Laurentiis Cooks With SJP and Letterman

I'm not sure how long ago this segment aired, but it was just put up on YouTube. It's kind of funny watching two size 0 celebrities cook up some veal for Dave. Well, Sarah Jessica Parker doesn't really "cook" per se... more like look at the food with confusion and bewilderment, almost like she knows what food is, but can't recall what one would do with it. (Describe this whole "eating" thing again, I imagine her asking.)

I love how surprised she is by Giada adding cream. "WOW! That's nice to see real fat!"

SJP is skilled with the lemon, though. Someone's been putting that in her water to make a healthy meal, I think! ;-) Get Tracy Gold on the line; we need an intervention.

OUh real fat indeed :-)
Isn't that scary? This segment should have been PG13.

lol @ Babeth, PG13 indeed!

Guy Fieri's gonna be on David Letterman next week. Jan 28. You know, it's funny. Sometimes Letterman is a total sweetheart to his guests, and other times he gives 'em a pretty hard time.

It'll be interesting to see how he deals with Fieri ... it'll be worth tuning in just to see the fireworks, eh?

SJP's hair looks like crap, and she needs to stop swinging around the food. Now David was very funny.....

I hope Letterman asks Mr Fieri what was behind the name change.
Pretty dramatic going from Ferry to Fieri to Fee'etti.

My guess is that he will tell Dave he uncovered evidence that he stems from Italian royalty and at one point his family controlled Friuli until their expulsion from Italy many centuries ago. Expect him to add the title Count to his name during his intro on Diners,Drive-Ins and Dives.

I love Giada, but did anyone notice her big mistake. Dave actually had the info on saffron coming from the crocus and attempted to verify the info with Giada. She kind of tried to laugh and joke around, but when he point blank asked her if the saffron comes from the stamen of the crocus, she did not say yes. Is it possible she didn't know???

If she doesn't know exactly where saffron comes from, she's a hack who can't cook! Take her off the network. I mean, it's not more important to know how something tastes and how to use it -- if you can't fully explains its origin and go all Alton Brown with puppets to show it on a microscopic level, you have no business cooking!

5:00 Where have you been. Giada ALWAYS repeat ALWAYS makes mistakes.

5:30 The biggest open secret around is that this egomaniac can't do anything that is in anyway live or unscripted and heavily edited.

Anyone know what's Italian for 'talentless hack'?

Oh my GOSH she didn't know the answer!!!! Just saw Daisy's show, she is pretty good. Need to LOOSE the jewelry (it's a cooking show lady). I wonder why she doesn't use Rachael Ray's EVOO and her broth on the market. Ha of all the things that BUG me about RR is her producing EVOO and broth, please what the heck does she know about --especially EVOO. The REAL producers of EVOO have to be livid!!!

I was enjoying some wasted time and watched a few other sjp clips on letterman and came across a segment where she was promoting her film the family stone (which i loved) and also her fragrance 'lovely. it just reminded me that i loved that scent and i want to get some more. yeah nothing to do with food network. just a random comment complete with a spectacular run on sentence. yay me

If she attended a real chef's school she would be instructed as to where saffron comes from. Any neophyte chefs knows this.

The saffron flower ? Nice try Giada.

Giada is a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu in Paris ...

All of the cooking segments on Letterman are weird & wacky ...

They run through the segment during the rehearsal ... Did anyone think that maybe this was something Dave & Giada had planned out ahead of time???

Wow, hate to leave a repetitive comment, but seriously... she doesn't know that saffron comes from a crocus flower? That peeves me since they give people on TNFNS so much crap for not being "authorities" on every single question they are asked. C'mon Giada!

And is it just me, or did she really seem annoyed to even be there in the first place?

Leave Sarah Jessica Parker and David alone, they are Jewish!

The word for "talentless hack" in Italian must be "Giada" of course.

And SJP obviously doesn't know much about cooking, but SHE EATS. She's one of those people who eats EVERYTHING and never gains an ounce. So says the former crew of Sex and the City, and of course, SJP herself.

i think it's funny...and a little sad...how bitter some of you get over something so benign as an appearance on a late night talk show.

many qualities go into being a celebrity chef. and if any of you had them...you'd be on letterman.

I bought Giada's first cookbook and it has more pictures of her than her recipes.
