TODAY Show Goes Inside Iron Chef

Nothing much in this that we haven't seen before, but still nice to watch. Plus, I know several people who think that culinary purchasing manager guy is h-o-t. So there's that, too.

Goat testicles, anyone?

I've enjoyed watching the original Iron Chefs on Fine Living Network. When you think "Fine Living", you think beating an octopus to death with a daicon radish.

I wish the American version had more fortune tellers and lower house members as guest judges. And Mo Rocca should be banned from all media, Iron Chef included.

Let's hope Jeffrey Steingarten takes a chill pill with his sarcastic attacks - why the digs against Jenna Wolfe? She didn't seem out of place, and such unprofessionalism cheapens the show and his image. Iron Chef America, Flay vs. Tinsley, 1/4/09

Anyone catch the last line of the video Jenna said "Some of it was edible". I wonder what she didn't like. I lusted after the egg dish Sabrina made and damn she was good to look at too.

"Whose cuisine reigns supreme?" Where in the world is Mario? Come on chefs pick the king, quit picking Bobby Flay who went 5 and 3 last season

Where do they find some of these judges for ICA ? Aside from little peckerhead dweebs like Mo Rocca, what about some of the other gems they let on the show to shamelessly self serve, like that Karine Bakoush broad or Cady Huffman ?

I think they are handing out pickle washes to Scripps execs.

Bring back Mark Ecko as a judge. He wasn't out of place at all.

I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who thinks Mo Rocca is useless.

I think he is one of the worst ICA judges ever.

Man does that Chairman bob his head alot.

Say why do you think he doesn't play a more active role in the adjudication process ?All those years of study in Japan must be worth something.I think he is an imposter.

Mo's puns are cringe-worthy. Not to sound homophobic or anything, but his lisp and fey personality makes me want to smack the shit out of him. They need to stick with people who have a legit cooking background -- even if it's a foodie celeb. Nothing drives me (and apparently the chefs) crazier than when you have someone like Lester Holt waxing his ego on TV by telling a chef that the secret ingredient didn't "permeate" the dish (twice!). The judging is usually the low point of the show.

And since we're airing complaints: this may sound odd, but they don't focus on the cooking enough -- at least in detail. I hate when they're explaining the dish at the judges' table and mention five things in the dish we never saw being made. I'd rather have less of Alton's amusement at the proceedings and more details of what is actually being made.

Wanting to "smack the shit" out of someone for having a lisp and what you think is a "fey personality" is homophobic.

Well, I'm not a homophobe. I don't think "having a lisp and a fey personality" IS gay. There's no "gay personality" -- there's only stereotypes. Of all my gay friends, only one comes close to looking or acting anything like that. I want to smack him because his personality and tics are annoying; not because they represent some homosexual "type." Trust me when I tell you you have the wrong person here.

Steingarten needs a high colonic

He is such a stuffy arse

Agree with many here. Jeffrey S. is basically on the show, imo, for the ass he becomes at the time of judging. He is an egotistical sob 95% of the time. I feel like Mo is only there for the free food, he is just annoying and adds nothing to the explanation of what he is tasting as a judge.

I actually love ICA and will even watch repeats to see things I have missed. I never get enough Alton and at least we get to see him in action on this show. I feel like I get to see a lot of activities, but maybe more cooking would be nice. It is just hard to pack it all in one hour.

The chairman is just an actor and basically does what they hired him to do -- act.

I miss Mario A LOT. We commented on that last night, why on earth did Mario not end up being the Iron Chef picked for Chef Tinsley. It made me worry that we are losing Mario, we see him less and less.

I love ICA too. I love the original and interesting dishes the chefs come up with.

I'd like to see them do an expose on why Alton Brown is still on this network. He must have pictures of somebody doing something with a raw chicken.

He ruins every show for me.

I enjoyed this look inside Iron Chef, especially the bit about stocking the kitchen. :-)
