Ace of Cakes' Hottie Geof Manthorne Featured

Geof Manthorne, executive sous chef at Charm City Cakes and deadpan comic genius on Ace of Cakes, got a special feature in his hometown paper recently. In it, Geof shares some exciting news about the longevity of the series and what else the gang has planned:

"We're lookin' at doing a few more seasons of the show, I think, and getting more and more opportunities," said Manthorne. "Duff and I are going to be on the last episode of 'King of the Hill' in August."

**************

Although Geof doesn't confirm anything, it looks like AoC will continue on after season six. It's still one of the most entertaining shows on the network, and one I make a point not to miss. Season pass on TiVo, you know.

Since I don't have cable, I only watch FN when somewhere else. The AoC I saw a couple of months ago was actually fun and entertaining to watch. Previously I did not have a clue why anyone watched it. I asked to change the channel when it came on unless I was engaged in conversation and didn't care what was happening in the background. Still....not sure I could watch it on a regular basis.

Hottie? Certainly a matter of opinion. More like disgusting and gross, but again, just an opinion. Could he do a guest spot if they revive "Cavemen" or "2 Dudes Catering"? Seems he'd fit right in on both of those shows.

Love Ace of Cakes. You'd think a show about cake decorating would get old after a while, but I still enjoy it every week!

Just wondering, I read the interview you did with Duff, Mary Alice and Jeff a while back, and they mentioned an Ace of Cakes book in the works. It never came out, any news about whether it's coming in the future?

Uh...totally NOT a hottie.

Well, I dunno about hottie, but definitely deadpan humor genious. Duff's amazing too - met him, and was just awesome. AoC is hilarious - I don't catch every episode, but when I do, I have yet to turn away from it.

Nice article, gives great background information. And well written, too. Kudos all the way around.

I wouldn't call him a hottie either, but he does seem super nice.

I guess he's a "hottie" the way Mary Alice is a "hottie" -- a normal-looking person whose normal looks suddenly become something they're not because they appear on a TV screen.

I'll admit to not being a regular viewer, but I did see the Make-a-Wish episode and he was a total and complete DICK to the girl who came to the shop. Duff seemed really excited -- almost nervous -- to be with the girl, but Geof wouldn't even look at her or speak to her. Duff came by and said "Hey, look who it is," and the little girl stared in awe, and the sonofabitch wouldn't stop working for two seconds to say hello. I was actually surprised they left it in the show.

Love Geof. Love the show.

I didn't know what the fuss was all about when I first tried watching the show, but after a few episodes, DH and I were hooked. The crew grows on you as you watch the show and learn more about their personalities. Now, it's one of our favorite shows on all of TV.

But since we had to cancel our cable, we are really frustrated that Food Network has only released season one on DVD, and it's overpriced at that. I wish FN would catch up with everyone else and offer the episodes on iTunes or Hulu, or at least put the rest of the seasons on affordable DVDs.

BE SERIOUS! Geof is NOT a Hottie...not even close. Simply sounds like another one of Jacob's crush's. Jacob darling YOU'RE the Hottie!

This show is such a HAS BEEN. Not even interesting at all. How many more "cake" shows can FN find.

Geoff is as hot as he is talented and that would be....TOTALLY!!!!

I am not getting the hottie or the "executive sous chef" part of the equation.

I can see Jake having impure thoughts about Geof, but I would love to know which culinary school Manthorne attended to attain this designation.

Hottie...ummm...no.

Ace of Cakes (I'm begging everyone to stop with the lame abbreviation thing) is one of those shows I quickly pass due to most of the people having as much personality as dry cake.

I think Geof's "hottie factor" is related to his persona on the show, more than his classic good looks or lack therof.

He seems like he'd be a great person to hang out with and get to know; someone who would be fun at parties. Someone with a good sense of humor, intelligent, etc.

Those are all qualities that make many people "hotties". I'd certainly take Geof over any of those vapid, useless wastes of space on that inner beauty reality show.

Sorry-

He is not HOT to women period. Maybe you gay guys like that or it was BLOG marketing to say he is hot-UGH To each our own own.

Mummy, I just don't feel fresh. Could you help me solve this equation ?

Looks like he needs a shower! Yuck!

I'm a married female and I think Geoff is adorable. It is his shy, quiet personality with the great dry sense of humor that is appealing, nothing to do with looks really. Looks alone mean nothing.

The show has really grown on me. I think the concept and characters, plus getting to see the satisfied customers are what makes the show. To me it is great because it is like watching folks with dream jobs, doing what they love with friends.

This show is just a show to watch for enjoyment factor, not that you want to learn something about baking/decorating cakes.

Geof is geogeous for a man, I would rank him as a 10! He also gains more hotness over other men because he is JEWISH!

Shit on them all you want - but when they go out their way to do stuff like this: http://tinyurl.com/cag9lx I can't help but like 'em...

Snoozefest. Where are you Guy? Emeril? Heck give me RR over this crap.

Mummy, Forget it.I got the equation.
I should never ever question the fabulous crew at Ace of Cakes because they are simply the best thing in the whole world. Especially the exec sous chef Geof who I still have dreams of wearing his little red fag shorts a few seasons ago.

Now that I know he's Jewish, I guess he can walk on water. Now if I can only have the same dreams about Mary Alice, I'll be fine. Thanks Mummy.

The success of this show baffles me as much as the success of Taylor Swift selling all these records. Granted, unlike Taylor who cannot sing, the crew at Ace of Cakes are quite talented at what they do. It's just soooo dull from the cake making to the cake makers. I just never got into this show, sorry.

TFN is so lame. Bob Tuschman is a hack because he doesn’t tailor the network’s programming to my personal tastes. PBS is my more cup of Earl Gray, right!

I sometimes like to touch myself and think about Christopher Kimball naked in a bathtub full if figgy pudding. Wait…that’s err, gay isn’t it ? Homey-phobic doesn’t play that game !

Maybe this blog thing ain't working out that well. Lot of work in return for the $73.00 a month that Google ads bring. Maybe I should just concentrate on my dayjob and ask for a raise. I'll bet I can cap em at 34 K a yr. Oh wouldn't that be sweet.

They might ask me to give up my schoolgirl crush on Ina and that would certainly make me cry. I get upset when people call her the Barefoot Contessa, so maybe I can call TR for some advice. TR would understand.

Hey maybe I can make a go of this food writing thing by doing a PBS Food Show Addict blog. Hmmm... I can adopt Mary Ann Esposito.. maybe Sara and Lidia... Bayless might like me.Always wanted to meet Mark Bittman. I better set up a meeting with their Programming people.

Man are my eyes ever tired from looking at IP addresses.I gotta quit this.

Is Geof and Duff dating? They seem to get all googly eyed over each other. Plus Duff is the Food Network's equivalent to MTV's Bam Margera...Please the whole Mary Alice thing is so fake, Duff is such a homofanboy of Clutch, he just hired her knowingly to get into her brother Neil's pants. If Clutch had a "heartagram' type symbol trust me it would be plastered with fondant all over CCC's walls. Duff needs to get over his ever expanding ego and his wasteline (nice man boobs Duffy, time for a bra soon)! Geof is a mute and is dickwhipped by his boyfriend Duff like you would not believe. Ace of Cakes no Ace of Cocks!

Geof, to me, is TOTALLY HOT. For my next birthday, I want Charm City to make a cake that is a life size, anatomically correct replica of Geof, posed as Michaelangelo's David...

Geof is hot to me, I like his voice and scruffy face. Very attractive :D

Geof is lovely, but I think a lifesize Geof as Michelangelo's David cake would be very confusing. Plus if he's Jewish, it couldn't be quite anatomically correct.
