Rachael Ray Hosts SoBe 2009's Amstel Light Burger Bash
I'm four-for-four when it comes to missing the Rachael Ray Burger Bash, held annually at both wine and food festivals in South Beach and New York City. This year would have been extra special for me, since DC's-own Good Stuff Eatery (Spike Mendelsohn's joint) took the top three prizes: People's Choice, Judges Award and the Best Dressed Burger, with his Smokehouse Burger.
Rachael Ray and husband John Cusimano look pleased as pie to be there!
And even though I could not attend, my girl Sunny Anderson has covered it well on her blog and even provided this lovely quote to the Miami Herald:
"Bobby Flay just popped my cherry with this burger,'' said Food Network star Sunny Anderson, a self-proclaimed South Beach Wine & Food Festival virgin. "He's got the texture thing going on."
Sounds fun! Lots more updates to come.

Rachae,l looks adorable and happy - John, who has to always look like a homeless guy who has not had a shower or shave in months -- looks not happy. Maybe he is worrying over the fact that his wife is sick and he is fearing for his 'gravy train'? When is Rach going to get smart and dump this loser and be with a man who will not embarrass her at a public function? C'mon Rachael!
Cusimano looks like he should go thru a few carwash cycles to clean up uh ?

Okay, there's an unkempt, scruffy look and then there's the "Robert Downey Jr after a 170 day bender look". Anyone wanna guess which one John has achieved? Why the gray pallor?
He really is GREASY looking, but why does he think it looks good. Maybe because he is so SHORT it makes him feel BIG, I don't even know what I'm saying. She will figure it out.
They both look drunk and stoned, IMO.
John does look gray - I agree - it is probably all the salted pork and fat he eats - Rachael is the one who is suppose to be sick and she looks heaps better than him... Poor Rach, she does have the bloat from the steroids- I do hope she gets better - she is just a doll.
Rach is sick??
She seems to be dealing with a cyst on her vocal cords - which was suppose to be removed in Dec - I guess Rachael cancelled the surgery - and now the cyst has grown - or at least that is what I read. She is on Steroids which looks to be true as she has gained weight and is all puffy in the face. She never stops but I do hope she does long enough to save her voice and potential serious health issues down the line. Seriously I agree with anon who said why doesn't her husband act like a husband and get her to deal with her health rather than pumping his band... First SOBE and then Austin Tx next month. John you should be ashamed of yourself dude - and you are way to old for that grung look!
It wouldn't be smart to dump him. She would have to cough up ALOT of money.
And don't blame him for her not dealing with her health problems. She needs to take care of herself. It's not up to him.
I would love to go to this. Skip Sunny and Aunt Sandy crap and go to Rach's Burger Bash.
Yea, but Rachael does not know how to stop -- so maybe the love of her husband can help her convince herself to stop... I think that is what the above person was trying to say - it is not John's fault she is sick - but it is his fault to not try and help her stop... for her own health.
Geez Rachael & John, don't let your hair down and have fun at your OWN shindig. Heaven forbid you are allowed to throw back a few and not be dressed to the "T" at a burger bash. You guys on ths board suck. Why don't you try going out and having fun sometime? Do any of you even remember what that was??? And why all the hatin' on Cusamano? Ya'll ain't the ones f**king him.
And Thank God I am not F**king him!! GROSS! It really sucks that he gets to play in his mid-life crisis band while his f'n wife works 5 jobs and she is sick! I, like everyone else on this board cares about Rachael - not her 'doesn't have a real job' husband!

She chose to work 5 jobs. Sounds more like fun than work to me. Vacations and all. And if she loves John you need to respect her choice. They are BOTH in mid-life crisis. Ain't it fun...you go guys.
Rachael is a Rock Star! And she LOVES what she does- Her passion for what she does is why I adore her so-- but when your health is becoming compromised as hers is - she MUST stop and take care of herself - and if Rachael will not have the sense to do that herself someone who LOVES her should- ummm I don't know - maybe her husband ?? If she was my wife - there would be now question about me swooping in and making sure she is healthy. It is not rocket science! It's called LOVE.
Them two don't look all too happy together.
