Cat Cora Is ALSO Pregnant! Partner Jennifer Due in April, Cat in July

Congratulations are in order for Iron Chef Cat Cora who is 4 1/2 months pregnant with a boy. This is her first pregnancy. Cat's partner Jennifer, who has already given birth to the couple's two sons, is also pregnant with a boy. Jen's due in April and Cat is due in July.

(Mainstream media: please refrain from using any "double buns in the ovens" kind of headlines... although I'm sure you already have.)

"Jennifer and I are thrilled to go through the wonderful experience of pregnancy together. We started the in-vitro process 5 years ago," said Cat who is due in July. "This has been a miracle for us and we'll now have 4 beautiful children."

And if you're very interested in the biology behind the couple's soon-to-be four children, Cat's pregnancy is a result of in-vitro fertilization with Jennifer's embryo. The couple's sons were both carried by Jennifer, who was artificially inseminated for her first pregnancy, but carried the second to term using Cat's embryo. In Jennifer's current pregnancy, both women's embryos were implanted, so the biological mother is unknown. Each of the couple's children was conceived through insemination or in-vitro with the same anonymous sperm donor, making the children biological brothers, according to a press release.

Phew! However it happened, congrats to Cat and Jen! You're going to be an even busier family very soon!

Two people who love each other and who have the means to provide for the welfare of their family wish to bring children into the world and make a family. What is so weird about that?

This is the USA- and I am happy for this couple. They can afford these kids on their income. The Octomom is not resposible. What was she thinking? Sponsers/ $$$$. Maybe she wants a bailout. I know she will be on Dr. Phill today- but please people, what do you think?

Congratulations to both of them. I think it's sick that this is a country where lots of people (ignorant..mind you) think that it's better that a child be in an abusive home with a hick mom and dad than in a loving home with two moms or two dads. I hope the California legislation is overturned and all other states follow. Who are we to say who is able to get married and have kids and who isn't? Ugh...

Right on Natalie. These kids will have it better than at least half the kids in this country.

As much as I support them in their decision to raise a family and be good parents, this gives me pause. Not because I care anything about either one of them (although I appreciate that it points out how drunken straight people can procreate biological siblings without a moment's thought, and get married if they want, or not). I understand the desire for biological children, and don't object to in-vitro if there's otherwise infertility. But given that it doesn't appear to be the case here, would they have loved their children any less had they not undergone in-vitro? They could have had the same father without it, and they could each have had pregnancies too.

I wouldn't otherwise comment on their reproductive choices, but since they put them out there for us all, I have to say it strikes me they're playing house, doctor, and scientist because they can. Fine, free country and all that, and not all that remarkable if it were just the two of them involved, but the world now knows all about their children's parentage before the children are able to understand it themselves. Not very nice.

Well spoken TEN. An intelligent, thought provoking comment that sees both sides of the scenario without being mean or coming off like your 4 years old as the prior post to yours so "eloquently" stated.

I do have to say, however, that ChristopherM said it best. When it all comes down to it, the scientific aspect of it aside. Ya know?

I'm not much for getting into the personal lives of television personalities or their lifestyles. However, after reading about about Cat Cora's lifestyle with her wedded partner and family situation, this is just too much of an "URBAN DELIVERANCE". I liked watching Cat Cora's performance but, I just don't believe I can get over thinking "Burt Reynolds" or "Ned Beatty" will suddenly appear. NEW YORK INCEST at it's best!!!

Natalie, you paint with a very harsh stroke by spewing the ubiquitous "abusive"/hick versus "loving"/homosexual analogy. Has it ever occured to you that a "hick" family can be loving and a family with two spouses of the same sex can be abusive?

Poor kids.Having to grow up knowing one of your mothers actually birthed you but not your sibling.

Are we normal people expected to accept this cockeyed arrangement ?

You want acceptance, but you do stupid shit like this.

I think it's wonderful. They can both afford to have 4 children and that is at least responsible.

Cat Cora is a beautiful and smart woman, whom I have a lot of respect for. If only I could cook like her!!!

Rock on girl.
