Jamie Oliver is Britain's Best Selling Author

This is kind of surprising, but still well deserved.

Jamie Oliver has surpassed Khaled Hosseini and JK Rowling as Britain's biggest selling author, having earned £11.5 million in 2008.

Britain's other big cookery star Nigella Lawson sadly saw a 35 percent drop in sales last year, going from £10 million in 2007 to £6.5 million last year. Gotta step it up, Nigie!

Tea and crumpets for everyone, Jamie! You can afford it.

The words used in the link are more accurate. Making the most money doesn't make someone the "best-selling" author. I guarantee he didn't sell more books than JK Rowling. It's pretty shocking that he's making so much coin. Is he their version of RR?

This guy put his name on the most useless kitchen gadget ever, the Jamie Oliver Flavor Shaker.

A class A huckster.

Does he have some kind of speech impediment ?

What the hell do the Brits know? They still have a Queen. He never made it over here. Who can understand his low class accent anyway.

Why well-deserved? Your considered opinion? In mine, his books are averagely written and very poorly edited. Way too many pictures and too few recipes. And that's apart from the general caliber of the food. The shows are entertaining, but the books don't reflect those qualities. Their sales are a mystery to me.

I love Jamie. Ever since the days of "Naked Chef" I was hooked. He does have a bit of a lisp in his
English accent, but who cares. He is a total babe, imo.

Go Jamie....

Dude was selected to cook dinner for the 20 heads of state in London for the G-20. Man will that piss off Gordon Ramsay.

Quite the honor. Looks good on him.

Probably eat at his place(s)rather than Ramsay's anyday because I think Ramsay is a raving lunatic.

With those kind of bucks, he could have some dental work and hire a trainer. He was soooo cute when he first hit the scene, but the years have not been kind to him.

What happened to him it`s right, the days of the naked chef are a distant memory of what once was.

His cooking technique it`s not bad, he always was very respectful of the food, not like that bitch flay that infuses every thing in chipotle and ancho chile.

His philanthropic endeavors are to be respected and applauded and yes i will eat at his restaurant every chance over Ramsey`s .His is real food not john dory risotto and shit with mushrooms and chipotle reduction of vomit and poquillo guajillo habanero cream, like flays.

Jamie Oliver is due to open a new restaurant in Guildford town centre on October 5th, bringing sought-after chef jobs to the area.

The sixth eatery in Oliver's Italian chain will serve up fresh pasta dishes made on site, alongside alcohol and live music, reports Get Surrey.
