Lindsay and Paris Apparently Out of Town, Bobby Flay Talks to TMZ While In L.A.

I'm beginning to think a bit differently about Bobby Flay! Often described as arrogant and a little too self-assured, Bobby Flay was out in L.A. shooting the second season of his Food Network show Grill It! when TMZ cameras caught up with him... and the Flayster was surprisingly kind and modest, offering up his own idea of a jazzed up PB&J for recession times and admitting that Gordon Ramsay could take him in a fight. (Mr. Nice Guy Flay even warns the pap to "watch [him]self" before walking backward into a car.)

In such a good mood, that Flay!

I love Bobby. Gotta admit the guy
is ambitious.
On ThrowDown, sometimes he doesn't really want to win and he can be flat out adorable to the older ladies

I saw one where he said, "My mom will
kill me if I win this."

Flay seems ok to me. He certainly did better with TMZ than Fieri did a few months ago! They all have huge egos; at least Flay deserves to have one.

I'm liking the NFNS commercials with Flay walking down Chelsea Market with stars on his heels. Thought that was pretty cool.

Not so fast Bobby. I don't think Gordon Ramsay played rugby. I think it was the far less dangerous sport of Soccer.

And I've met you. I think you could take a few rounds outta Ramsay . Ramsay thinks he is tough guy. He is oh so tough with Hell's Kitchen actors, and is well onto his way to creating himself a "ShockChef" but watch how he behaves around men bigger than he is. He isn't a tough guy.

I think you could take him. Seriously. You grew up in NYC. You're not pussy by any means.

Glad to see you don't resort to Ramsay's tactics and bullying ways though.

Bobby's cool. For some reason he seems to rub people wrong at first, but the more I see of him the nicer and more genuine he seems. Plus I think he's the hardest working person on the network. You can totally tell he HATES winning on throw down.

Jacob,

Why don't you do a story about the Obamas creating a veg garden at the white house? You live in Alexandria VA. You must have sources - I hear they are not planting beets because the Prez does not care for them! Who knows maybe they watch th FN.

Cheers!

"Why don't you do a story about the Obamas creating a veg garden at the white house?" I love that they're doing that. Maybe Bobby could come in and do an "organic garden vegetable" throwdown with the White House Chef!

I've always liked Bobby (though I never met him). I use his, Emeril's, Giada's, Ina's, Tyler's and now Anne's recipes the most. And I like Stephanie too.

I wouldn't call it working hard when you love what you do!

I think his food absolutely rocks. The recipes of his I've tried are better than any others from the FN. I ate at Mesa Grill once and it was phenomenal. If he is arrogant he deserves to be.
