Ellie Krieger's Got a Mustache... of Milk

I could stand having a bit more Ellie Krieger on Food Network. Right now, about 98% of the programming is dedicated to grease-eating Guy Ferrari and butter basting Paula Deen. Am I wrong to think America (and Food Network) might need a bit more balance?

Luckily, Ellie's still popping up here and there in appearances and endorsements. She's even become on of the newest milk mustache celebrities!

While I'd tend to think of "liquid sunshine" as some kind of Sandra Lee cocktail consisting of Sunny D and turpentine, Ellie's heart (and upper lip) appears to be in the right place.

**************************

I had a great, long weekend back home in Illinois. Hope everyone (who's reading in the U.S.) had a lovely Memorial Day!

I agree, it's time for less of Paula and Guy!! Guy just plain needs to grow up. Paula has turned into such a fool it's unbelievable, and she thinks it's so cute.

Food Network needs to get back to good programming with quality chefs that are both entertaining and instructional at the same time. No more Paula and Guy!!!!!!

Liquid sunshine can only be two things: either Mountain Dew, Mello Yello or some other golden yellow soft drink; or urine.

BRING ELLIE BACK! Is she going to film any new season?

I AGREE we need more of Ellie! It's to the point now where I can't even find her re-runs anymore. I have a suspision she maybe moving to a new network at least I hope so and I hope they give her the kind of respect she deserves. I am so sick of all the junk on the network now and not any Ellie - why not cut out Sunny Anderson everyday and do Ellie instead? Who's with me?

I agree--more Ellie!

Anon 9:03 - Going out on a limb here, but I bet Jacob knows Guy's real last name. He may have just been joking about Ferrari. Like I said, I can't speak for sure. Just guessing here...

I like Ellie, too, mostly because she's not sickeningly perky and over-the-top with crazy antics. She's pleasant to look at and listen to. Plus, her food is healthier than most of the FN's other chefs/cooks. FN seems to lack balance in that area. They need Ellie and more like her.

Guy Fieri/Ferry/Ferrari looks as greasy as his food!

Too much Paula and Guy? All I ever see when I turn to FN is cakes. Ellie is very underutilized.

Sometimes I think the programming people at FN are using meth when they dream up schedules and put people like Ellie on the back burner.
Seriously, she might be one of the few people left ( if she hasn't bolted already)that makes sensible easy to make nutritious food all at time when we need it the most.

While our obesity rate skyrockets to over 38% of the population, Herr Tuschman continues to bombard us with people that call themselves chefs that make stuff out of other's cookbooks. All in the name of just putting out a show.

What part of the picture don't you see Bob? Are you fucking blind or would you rather promote food that make our kids fat and jiggly and helps them develop diabetes ? Uh Bob? You don't think FN has responsiility to promote sensible eating?

You're a stain on TV.

I hope Ellie goes to another network where we can watch her make food that will promote a healthy lifestyle

I saw a Paula rerun the other day - a show from the early days and she was sooooo much more pleasant to listen to. I'm at the point I can not stand that cackling laugh. Ellie is great and I always learn something new/useful from watching her show.

I agree that they need more healthy stuff. Ellie's food is okay but someone needs to tell her that it's okay to stop smiling. Seriously, the smile never leaves her face. It led my boyfriend to say that she looks like someone who eats small children.....but please, I know I can cook something with sausage or pancetta or bacon and it will taste good. And I agree with whoever said the FN has some obligation to present food that doesn't make people obese and diabetic. Every show doesn't have to be healthy, but how about a few shows? Has anyone seen A Lyon in the Kitchen, by the guy who lost on the NFNS one season? I like him. Emeril Green is better than the old Emeril. Rachael at least sometimes has some healthy stuff. How bad could it be to have a vegetarian show?

I love her. I miss the old Food network with brilliant, professionally trained chefs. Keep Alton and Ellie and throw everybody else off a cliff and listen for a big loud splat.

I'm tired of the survivor type of shows at night. Where everyone is in a frenzy, making uneatable, 3 story cakes they can't move, and in 10 mins. That is a GAME show, not a cooking show . It's as if FN is bored with food.

Ellie is great, but healthy food doesn't bring in as much $$$ to FN as does , say the Cheese council. I'm guessing that's a big reason why you don't see her that much

I want to see more of Ellie too! We need to see more healthy cooking on Food Network and Ellie makes healthy cooking appealing and easy - not a bunch of foreign unattainable ingredients!

Not putting down my favorites like Ina and Tyler, but we need a break - This country has the highest rate of obesity! We need to see more healthy cooking - not just for one weekend after New Years! Hello this is bathing suit season!

On a mission to get in shape and eat healthier - doing good too. Unfortunately I watch much less Food Network. Bring Ellie back - and what's so bad about the smiling? Rachel does it too.
