Food Network Addict Mailbag: How I Can Email Bobby Deen?
Introducing a regular feature here at FNA: The Food Network Addict Mailbag! I'll be posting real emails I've received over the years, leaving out any personally identifiable information. Some are sweet. Some are funny. And some are just plain weird. Enjoy!

Bobby I'm not sure if I'm on the right email site to talk to you or not! I
just saw you on the food net work awards show and I thought you we're even
more adoreable than ever! I think you are such a cutie pie. My name is
Lisa and I am a dental hygienist in Minneapolis. I love animals
among many things and they are my fur children. I am 35 years old and do
not have any children besides my furry kids and a hairless cat!!!! I am
getting divorced, which isn't a great selling point, but I guess life
doesn't always happen the way we want it to. I have always thought your
mom Paula seemed so sweet and down to earth you just want to hug her and I
can tell you guys have a lot of love in your family! I would really like to
talk to you or send you a picture of myself to know you a little better. My
cell phone number is (XXX) 470-3590 if you would ever like to connect.. I
have never emailed someone like this before so it feels somewhat weird, but
I didn't know how else to say "Hi Bobby". Maybe we'll talk sometimp,s.
p.s. I loved your shirt at the awards show it was so unique and fun!!

At least Sandy, despite her "yi yi yi's," could tell I was not Bobby Deen before emailing me. Lucy actually attached a picture of herself with Bobby that she had taken at The Lady & Sons--bonus points for that!

Can't believe that first one is getting divorced. Someone grab her quick she sounds like a real prize.
Can's believe how desperate some women are. In a way, this is really sad, especially since Bobby Deen probably just laughs at them. I wonder how many love letters he gets a day?
If you think those emails are desperate you should see some of the things that women post to Bobby on Jamie's Blog where everyone else looking at the blog can read. Anything from a request for a date to an offer to have his baby. Someone even stated something to the effect that she goes after what she wants - seemingly meaning him. It's a heck of a way to try to make a connection with someone.
He is a very handsome (and muscular, yi, yi, yi,) guy and I can't say that I haven't thought "wouldn't it be nice," but......c'mon, realistically, I know it ain't gonna happen!
I'm sure he gets more than his share of love letters and propositions on a daily basis. He is probably partly flattered and partly freaked out by it all.
Ladies, I would lay odds that Bobby is gayer than brunch with Clay Aiken.

Well, Bobby certainly is a paradox, isn't he? If it is a known fact in Savannah that he is gay why does he keep doing interviews that speak to the contrary, ex.: http://www.connectsavannah.com/news/article/100664/.
Although, I do find it curious that his friend, Mike, no longer works for Deen Enterprises.
What was the point of blocking the area code on the first email? Minneapolis only has 3 area codes anyway. Simple enough to find this poor girl's phone number.
Who in the hell would find that mouth-breathing , knuckle-dragging , Mama's boy moron worth persuing ? Ladies and gentlemen you can do MUCH better !
Bobby gave the same comments in an interview with Good Housekeeping as he did with "connectsavannah". Still no girlfriend, never seen in public with a girl, no girls come up with stories, gay people, gay!!!!
Not really from Minneapolis... I changed the city, but you're welcome to go out and try and call her!
Damn I was hopping to call her she seems like a classy well balanced individual.

Agree with the anonymous comments on Jamie's Blog - there sure are some winners out there. And they wonder why Bobby doesn't blog himself - LOL! I do know someone who's current girlfriend had dated Bobby in the past. Feedback was that he's a really nice guy and definitely hetero.

I know you said you got rid of personal identifying info, but I think you could do a better job with Lisa. She's a dental hygienist in Minneapolis and you only exed out her area code. Minneapolis only has one area code.

Please can you get interviews? I am tired of the cut & paste. Also, I see the mags with FN people on the covers- WE ALL Do. We want behind the scene stuff- not what is print and churned out as original. You are more creative than that!
Bobby Deen is a mystery and will be until he comes out. One says he's hetero because she heard this from a distant girl claiming to have dated him, then there is the girl who found out he is not hetero from a person in the know. The stories go on and on.
One thing that is true is that his best friend left Deen Enterprises and moved away. He was living next door in the house that Bobby owns. He moved quite a distance away, this must be hard on Bobby. No one has ever said why.

Maybe Bobby's best friend got sick of the internet gossip about his connection to Bobby and wanted to attempt to stop the speculation about his own orientation. Can't say I blame him.
As for Bobby, according to a craigslist 'rant' regarding this, he was accompanied by a young lady to a magazine launch Thursday night -- there's a picture out there. And when I say young, I mean if she's all of 25 I'll eat my shirt! Cute GIRL though!

Well, if he's gay then there's at least one good thing to say for him.
They way that that family airs their dirty laundry and bodily functions in public if he had a serious girlfriend we'd hear about it.
If he has a boyfriend(not that there's anything wrong with that) it would be one of the few things that 'Momma' would actually shut up about.
The girl in the picture is around 23 years old. Looking at the picture you would never think they were together as they don't seem to be cozy. This party was a business situation, I suspect they may be just friends, after all, he is 16 years older than her.
I still think Bobby is gay and I feel sorry for him. It must be hard to be yourself with Paula as your mother.
You're right Jamie is the looker but I think he's gay too. Maybe he just doesn't know it yet.
Here's something I find tremendously annoying: straight people who say "not that there's anything wrong with that" whenever they talk about somebody possibly being gay. I know you think it's cute but it's really getting old.
Bobby Dean is gay. So fucking what. If you're a heterosexual female and can't figure it out, then I guess you'll just make an ass out of yourself.
So, so very tired of straight people for whom someone's gayness is some big deal event. Oh, and by the way, just because a gay person has at one time dated (or even married) someone of the opposite sex does not *prove* they're straight. Get a clue, you clueless straights!

Especially since, even if whacko #1 WAS actually contacting Bobby Deen, isn't "don't mention your divorce, your 'furry kids' or your 'hairless cat'" pretty much the first rule of dating?
Does it really matter that Bobby Deen is gay? What matters more is the enjoyment he gives to his audience, along with the recipes they demonstrate on there show, and the cookbooks they produce. Lets just let the guy live his life, even if he has to present himself as something he's not to please the higher powers.
It doesn't matter but it's fun to talk about. Otherwise what's the point of the blog?
Does a 16 year age difference really surprise anybody since Jamie married someone 15 years his junior?
Wonder if Jamie will still be with Brooke when he nears sixty and Brooke is only in her mid forty?
That's like your husband almost being the same age difference as you and your parents. I would not want to be married to someone close to my parents age, ugh!!!!

Poor Bobby can't come out of the closet just yet. He need the fame while it lasts. He sure is no cook and he is almose bald and to be his age and balding it aint pretty and your fans do not want poor Bobby to end up a spinster. Come out maybe some rich guy in SFO will save you. Or is Uncle Bubba still swinging on your spatula?
Are you kidding??? Bobby is still totally hot. Personally, I could care less about the whole celebrity factor - his look just appeals to me.
