I Still Miss Lisa Garza

This season's cast of The Next Food Network Star has got some interesting characters (did anyone hear that Debbie is Korean?) but no one really compares (in the wacky department, that is) to last year's Lisa Garza. God, I miss her.

Case in point, today Lisa posted a wordless, black & white video on her Facebook page called Lisa Garza Unplugged: Morning Me. The two-minute video consists of scenes showing Lisa waking up in the morning, washing her face, and generally doing things people do when they wake up... and that's it.

Also, such exciting things as Lisa spreading butter on toast:

Lisa showering:

Lisa buttoning her jeans:

And Lisa heading out for the day:

Soooo for all of you who were wondering what Lisa is up to, rest assured that she's still waking up, eating toast, showering, and driving. Thanks for the update, Lis!

Are you F-ing kidding me? Why is she so messed up in the head?

And I why do I wish her necklace was made of lead and snapped her spine?

I'll take it up with my therapist.

I really liked her. I thought she was a bitch in the first few episodes, but after she fell flat on her ass and cooked better and wasn't RoboLisa I grew to like her. I was hoping that she had won and to this day I am disappointed that she didn't (but oh well). Didn't she get a divorce?

I miss Lisa. She had cooking chops. She took chances. She was entertaining. Three things this season doesn't have a lot of.

I wasn't a fan but Lisa was at least entertaining to watch! She can cook, but she didn't appeal to most FN viewers. This season they seem to have realized that but they're looking for someone to dumb it down for us. Oy.

awww maybe a leadin for a new show ?

She was a year too late. If she was up against this pack of hacks, she'd win easily. The only person who might be a better cook is Michael, an it's pretty obvious he's reluctant to have his own show anyway (it might be hard doing three shows a day when facing a camera is like facing a firing squad). Lisa was a step above this year's contestants and last year's too.

This woman was ripped off bigtime.

If I was Tuschwipe,I'd be making her a deal for a show because it is evident she would be become a very successful personality on this station. I do believe she is a real chef too. Unlike many of the hacks at FN who like you to believe they are real chefs, right Giada ? Guy ?

I think her unorthodox approach would seem like a good change from the same old schlep that comes in the form of many of your gal pals Jake. Think about that.

A good looking woman that is chef that can cook and doesn't have an ass the size of a minivan.

But please keep on mocking her because Bob tells you to.

She's not a chef - she doesn't control the kitchen of a restaurant, does she? She's not the boss of several cooks, is she? She doesn't own a restaurant, does she?

She's just another loser of TNFNS that's trying to "get her brand out there."

I'm a friend of Lisa's on Facebook, and I was really confused by this video...

1. why so many shots of her hands, which look really bad in black and white

2. why am i so oddly attracted to her walking around in her little nightshirt and licking the jelly off of a knife

3. why was it ever made in the first place?

Hmmm. Alec Smart sounds just like Lisa had written the comment.

I really feel bad. I'm the one who asked Jacob why Lisa wasn't on the FN "where are they now" page and I hope that query didn't prompt her to wave for attention again. I was just mildly curious.

I think she is useless. She has an overinflated self image and was rarely able to communicate with the ordinary viewer. Falling on her ass was the most human I ever saw her. She was fakey and artificial from Day One.

I don’t care what you all say. I love her. I miss her. I still resent Food Network for not giving her a show.

I can assure I am not Lisa Garza. Just ask Jake & Jairod. They check everyone's IP addresses. Jairod is really good at it.

Anon 4:10, if you think Garza is fake and artificial, I think you don't get out much and don't know too many people. She may be a few things but one thing is for certain.

She would do a bang up job as a food personality and offer a real alternative to some of the mediocrity and nonsense they call FN programing now.

Everyone was picking on her for being a part of The Tuschwipe/Fogelberg Kabuki Turd Circus charade party, when all she did was follow their instructions. When they humilated her, she struck back. What's so hard to understand about that?

Seeing Chef Fried Luncheon Meat win probably made her blood boil and I don't think you will find too many people that would disagree with that human emotion.

I hope she does a "Valastro" and gets a show on TLC. btw, his show is far more enjoyable to watch than Ace of Cakes and Buddy's cakes look like professional bakers make then too.

I am still a big fan of Lisa, and I hope she gets her own show. But from what I have heard, she has been going through some rough times.

So if her little presentation is authentic--as in not done by some obnoxious hacker--at least she has retained her sense of humor!

I'm a fan too. She grew on me as so many others have. She is talented. Maybe if there was still a Martha Stewart Apprentice show she could have signed up. She has a clothing line to I think.

I liked Lisa Garza. She was sexy, too. Food Network needs to stop giving shows to ugly people. They've really become low class. They're like a Tee Vee version of the Lillian Vernon catalog.

As for IP tracing, it's impossible. Certainly you can block IPs. Except for the dynamic ones that change constantly.

This blog has Site Meter (see teeny, tiny icon at bottom of page). This tells Jacob our IP general locations, referrals, type of computer used, browser, hair color, sexual orientation, etc. If you don't want the information looked at, then disable your javascript and mostly you will be private.

Hey Jacob, how come you don't make your Site Meter information public? Inquiring minds want to know how many hits this little blog gets everyday?

I liked Lisa too, and had her pegged to win last go'round. That 30-second spot she tried to do in Vegas was tough to watch tho ....

Anyway, I wish her the best. Something of a nutball, yes ... but a nutball in a good way. She made me smile.
:-D

I agree that she is talented, well-versed in all things-kitchen (and in other realms), and very pretty. How come I then still didn't want her to win? Don't get me wrong - I CERTAINLY didn't want the blathering hospital 'chef' to win, either. But I didn't want Lisa. Why?
