Sandra Lee is featured in an awesome Out magazine spread this month... and she's loookin' kind of glam. Why do we get frumpy sweaters and tight mom tees on your shows?!
Besides the obvious connections (her love of dressing up as Cher & Barbra, color-coordinated cocktails, etc.), Sandra also talks about her reaction to her youngest brother Johnny coming out. "Of course you are! Everybody knows that!" said Sandra after he told her.
Even random gay men become friends, like Jeffrey Fegenheimer, who sat in with her during the interview:
"We met at a party," says Fegenheimer. "I looked at her breasts, and I said, ‘They’re fabulous!’ and she said, ‘Aren’t they?’ and I asked, ‘Can I touch them?’" Lee finishes the sentence, "And I let him and then we went and danced."
And even though there was no boob touching on my part, I found Sandra genuinely warm and funny when I finally met her this past February in South Beach.
I think the article is great, but it's coming out, pun intended, way late. The whole thing is about her show Semi-Homemade, which we all know is no longer being taped. It airs all the time, of course, but... come on Out. Get with the Money-Saving Meals programs. Guess that's not as fabulous.
