Anthony Bourdain's Worst Nightmare? Food Net Parent Company Might Buy Travel Channel
I had to laugh after I read this short article indicating that several private equity firms, including Scripps Network Interactive (Food Network's owner), are interested in purchasing Travel Channel!
Anthony Bourdain must be praying this doesn't go through!
A majority stake in the channel has been up for sale since June, according to the Financial Times. As many of us have seen, Travel Channel has proven to be a good competitor when it comes to food-based programs.
It would make total sense for Food Network to buy it!
How hilarious would it be to have Bob Tuschman making Bourdain's programming decisions... again?!

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! For the love of the last, best food program to watch, this Must. Not. Happen.
Wait - maybe it will make Tony snarkier?
Well........hm......
I survived Project Runway moving from Bravo to Lifetime, I can get through anything.
This should be good if they allow that ectomorph Tuschwipe to bugger around with their programming. I can hardly wait to see the Neelys in Africa hosting their own new show.
Hey maybe Susie FogelBrand can think of some brandingideas like logoed Travel Channel safari suits for Zimmern and Bourdain.
If this happens, and I hope it doesn't, I will urge every sane individual capable of reason to support PBS to support any culinary or gastrominc viewing requirements.
One more thing. Don't think Bourdain is losing too much sleep over this. The guy has worked hard to earn the respect of the true "culinary elite" and should Bunghole or Susie start messing things up,watch a for real network to rescue him and put him in the mainstream. The guy has Mike Rowe appeal and Mike Rowe has become mainstream. He is in that league.
I think if this happens Bourdain will make the right move. He is so smarter that FNW. PBS here we come. They have great shows.
If it did happen and Bourdain didn't stay with the network, I wouldn't be surprised if he took the show to Bravo.
