Thank You, Bobby Deen

No, I am not involved in an abusive relationship with Bobby Deen. But I just had to write about sleepy-eyed Bobby again due to the massive amount of hits and comments I have been getting lately about Paula's single son (sorry everyone, Jamie is taken and has a kid).
Just like mostly everything and everyone on the Food Network, I am able to see the humor and entertainment-value of these two boys. I may joke about their show and their "brothas" and high fives, but I know they are pulling in a lot of viewers. So, cheers to Bobby and Jamie.

Bobby is the perfect southern gentleman. His mother raised him and his brother well. They both seem like respectful guys. I just adore Bobby's accent, personality, and his ability to cook (he gets that from his Mom, of course.) I would have a blast hanging out with him. Southern accents are HOTT, not weird. I mean, I'm only 22 and I know he's 36 but does age really matter these days? Nah. Bobby, if you read this, you can take me home to mama! I'm a total sweetheart and I have a great personality. Hello Everyone! Are you all nutz! He is fabulous! Absolutely wonderful. When he drops the brother and dude, that's him. That's who he is and it is nice to see someone be themselves. As a single female of the age of 28, I find him really attractive! You get to see his Momma everyday and you can tell that her sons have to be as wonderful as she is. Bobby you can call me anytime, Savannah is only a days drive from me!
Well I think that Bobby Deen is the hottest, cutest, boy from the South. I wish that I could meet him so we could hangout watch some football and chill. Maybe he could show me how to cook so good dishes. Maybe cook up some romance!
I'd love to meet & go out with Bobby. I've always thought he was the cutest of the Dean boys. I'm from SC & a little older but who cares.
I also get a lot of people searching for things like "Bobby Deen AND single" or "Bobby Deen, TV Show" and ending up on my page. DC blogger Jordan Baker has this hilarious Q&A section in which she comments on some of the weird searches people entered to get to her blog.
I don't get a lot of crazy search terms, but someone yesterday used "Nigella Lawson, bust" which I thought was nice. At least s/he used a work-safe term:-) Maybe just wondering if there was a bust statue of Nigella somewhere?

i never said if he was or wasn't. it's all about the mystery when it comes to the deen boys. maybe.
I tell ya, my gaydar goes off with Bobby Deen like no tomorrow. Read interviews with him, and he plays the pronoun game like many gay men (myself included) do when they wish not to go into the fact that they butter their bread on the other side. I was also watching an episode of Paula's Party, and a woman she called up was making it very clear that she was interested in Bobby. Paula made *no* jokes about fixing him up later with her, or any flirting like that. In fact, she appeared uncomfortable about it and quickly switched the subject back to the cooking at hand. Personally, I think he's gay, and would love for Paula to back him up in public. We'll just have to see.
Of course Bobby's personal life is just that personal. However, I get the same vibe as some of the people that have commented. My personal opinion, I think he should just come on out of the closet if that is the case. I don't know of a gay man that doesn't just love Paula.
Like I said though, that's just my opinion.
Good looking man, good personality, who can cook, loves his mom, and is intelligent enough to help with the business, and he's not married? It's a shame (for me, a single gal), but I have to agree with the other posts. I don't think he'd be attracted to my feminine physique. But I'm still holding out hope. After all, Jamie didn't get married till his late 30's. Besides, Bobby is still kinda pretty to look at.
Bottomline, Bobby is HOT! Love his low-key sexy personally, the way he talks and think he would look super HOT with a goatee and tache.

I am a friend of both Bobby and Jaime (I worked at the restaurant for several years)and have to say that seeing all these comments kind of makes me laugh and I just needed to set a couple of things straight.... Bobby is by no meens gay at all (sorry gay men) He is one of the most straight guys I know! Also he is an extremely nice guy and all the "brothers" and "dudes" is really how he talks even though he does fake it a liitle (as well as the southern accent). Also Jaime handles all the business while Bobby walks around and you guessed it...hits on the hostesses. And Bobby does like the younger women anyways. I dont want to get into either of their personal lifes with you I just wantd to tell everyone whos "Gaydars" were going off that in no way is any of that even close to accurate.
Good to know since this was the first I had even "heard" that some people were wondering if Bob is gay...or NOT! But my questions is: Who is he "waiting" for? Meaning, does he have a "type" like a young, blonde, thin (now that I think about that...how would she stay thin with all the cooking the family does?-never mind on that thought, but maybe that's the body type he likes), maybe mid-size boobies, smart, with a career of her own somewhat. Yeah, I'm just rambling!
Awwwww! I met Bobby at the 2007 South Beach Food and Wine Fest....He was sooooo SWEET, very friendly (sigh) and sooooo HANDSOME...he's awesome! =D
I'm kind of skeptical about him not being gay, be it real or not, I sense some detachment between him and his mom. It seems to me that she is closer to Jamie than Bobby (Cutie). No matter, Be He Straight or Gay, he is a beautiful looking person and that's all that matters.
He's a beautiful man with a beautiful soul--has utmost respect for women and his momma--can't go wrong with that. I believe God broke the mold when he made the Deen boys. Bobby rocks!!

If the anonymous above is such a good friend of Jamie & Bobby's how come he or she doesn't know how to spell Jamie's name. He/she spelled it wrong twice. Maybe he/she doesn't know as much about them as he/she claims.

I thought that Jamie was the gay one.....he has slightly twee mannerisms. But now he's safely married. Why do y'all think that Bobby is the gay one.
Why do we think Bobby is gay? Because, until a woman comes along to claim him, a lot of us really WANT him to be! And unless you're into bear-cub-types (Guy Fieri), there isn't much else pretty to look at on Food Network!

Ok Bobby, where have you been all of my life. Aside from being hot, you have a great sense of family closeness which is obvious, good sense of humor (I love the trick you and your brother pulled on Paula with the frozen fish) that was classic, how is it you are still single. I'm very outgoing, cute, 5'8, 124 pounds, long blond hair and while I can boil water, I do have some blond moments when it comes to cooking but no one has ever ended up in the ER. If any of this interests you, I'd love to hear back from you and take a chance, ya never know...the water in Jersey is not as bad as the say so we're not all crazy.

There is definitely a sense of detachment between Bobby and his mother Paula. You can easily pick up on her favoritism to Jamie. Of course, if Bobby is really the womanizer that some of you have portrayed, that could possibly explain that. As far as the gay thing, I think you need to realize that these boys live in Savannah. A really sort of decadent city where in society, everyone is exposed to gay culture by designers and artists, chefs, and the like. If you ever live there, you'll understand. The Savannah nightlife reflects this cultural ambivalence. Visit there during St. Patrick's and you'll definitely understand what I mean.
I just got done watching an episode of "Paula's Best Dishes." She and Bobby were grilling foods, and he was showing her how to make some fish fajitas. Well the made a reference to the fact that "Jack would like these," hmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!!!!!!!
Jack is Bobby's nephew -- Jamie & Brooke's son.

I was searching for info on Paula coming to Virginia Beach and came across this blog.. it is disturbing to read the cruel judgments some of you have clearly no issue sharing! To add my 2 cents, I met Bobby on a cruise last year and I did not get any of these "feelings" many of you seem to feel expert enough to judge based on gossip or from seeing him in picture, interview, televised or written media. He is incredibly handsome, witty, and a great ambassador for Paula. Although I do suspect he is a private person thrust into a very public life. I believe southern gentlemen may at times strike people as soft because they are more in tune to women and know how to treat a lady without having to “put her in her place.” Bobby was adorable and so easy to talk to ~ I certainly enjoyed his company.. Bobby you owe me a Martini ~

Definitely my gaydar goes crazy when he is on... I actually thought he was gay and just married out of convenience. When I read on the web that he's actually single, it was almost proof that he's definitely outthere.
I went to see Ellen in Orlando this year and the deen boys were there with ma'am...well it was stated that Bobby was to be on the Bachelor, but turned it down...
they cut that from the airring of the show, but still kept showing them making bloddy marys...when reading the brothers cook book, bobby states "what I like to do is take a "friend" down to the end of my dock and cook a bar b q for them...he doesn't say WOman or girlfriend...he used "friend"...
I think he's gay...and paula is just shameful for not letting him fly his gay flag...you'd think she'd be a better supporter...but guess not.

Bobby is totally gay, and Paula even had his boyfriend on an episode of Paula's Party.
Bobby is VERY straight and a ladies man. However, I will let you in on a little secret. He did mess around with a guy one time that I know of for a fact. Bobby was a bit younger, and of course his participation was more or less for his own benefit. He's very charming and very sexual.
It is so crazy how all the paula deen followers are completely in the dard and are totally swept up in the bobby deen thing. bobby deen is absolutely 100% gay! it is okay that bobby deen is gay except in the south! make no mistake, paula seems gay friendly but i doubt she would be okay with bobby's being gay! it is the south. so hello hello all you straight girls! he is gay!
I was just watching the lastest episode of Paula's Home Cooking (6/5/2009) and in it, Paula asked her boys how many parties they have in which they don't invite her. Jamie said they don't throw many and she said she knows they do because she hears about them. But Bobby said she probably would not want to come to hers and she didn't skip a beat when she said, "Probably not"
I think she is gay friendly, I really do. I heard her inverview on Derek and Romaine on the Sirius/XM gay radio station OutQ and she was very friendly to our community.
I think she is okay with Bobby being gay but leaving it up to him to out himself. They have money now and lets face it here in the South (I am in SC) it is not always good to be gay.
I would love for Bobby to come out. Like most of you, I think he is the cutest and most personable in the family.
As to being totally straight in the work place and hitting on the younger hostesses ... I did that when I was younger and in the closet. Only gay people suspected me and I was able to throw them off when I wanted to. I am in my 40's and openly gay now. So maybe he will come into his own soon.

Whether Bobby Deen is gay or straight is surely secondary to the Oedipal thing he has with his mother -- it's SOOOO painful to watch Paula's relentless emasculation of her youngest whenever they are onscreen together. As the dutiful son, Bobby is studiously respectful and doting, but I get worried whenever he gets close to a knife!!! Rest assured, Bobby Deen won't have a relationship of ANY sort until Paula says so -- her compulsion to control her "baby" is certainly the worst of her. Paula, let him go! Let him possess his own power. He needs that as a man. Ask any adult son.
Bobby's gotta be gay. I just hope he doesn't cave to societal pressures and marry a beautiful girl as a cover-up. That can be so detrimental to both individuals.

Bobby Deen is gay! All the speculations of him being gay all along are true! The actress he claims to be dating is only just a friend of his! She was ONLY just doing him a favor by going along with it! She's a sweet and caring woman who felt SO very very bad for him and only just wanted to help him out! She has nothing to do at ALL with his outing! Don't hold her responsible for this. Bobby Deen is gay! It was nothing more than just a cover up for the fact that he is gay and to hide it from the public eye and not hurt the Deen's family "wholesome" image!
