When Food Network and D.C Converge
While not as prestigious as Garrett's or Madeline's article in their local paper, I'm always appreciative of any publicity this lil blog gets.
Woot! This is my 2nd time appearing in the print version of Express, D.C.'s free daily. If only I had more Food Network news that related to D.C.!
For you grammarians out there, you'll notice that they changed my original "Farmers'" (with a plural possessive) to "Farmer's" which, I guess, implies that it's every farmer for him/herself!
Giada's visit here got some pretty good press in a town that's typically dying for gossip that doesn't involve politicians or prostitutes (i.e. - former CIA director George Tenet spotted getting coffeee at a Dunkin Donuts!).
I spoke too soon...
Turns out the Food Network will make its presence in D.C. again soon. Kind of.
Food Network's Warren Brown (owner of the D.C. institution Cake Love) will make an appearance June 2 at a PNC Bank opening. Free cupcakes that normally cost $5 a piece? I'm there.
True, Warren already lives here. And I don't think he was even billed as a Food Network star in the ad I saw (see "Dead Shows" post from yesterday). Does it still count?
Hope everyone enjoys the long weekend, whether you're "grillin' and chillin'" or just doing nothin'. Fun times await!

Just curious--Did you enter the Food Network's Ultimate Recipe Contest? I think the deadline was on Friday. I squeezed in a couple of entries, soo....I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Yeah, but only if the cupcakes are worth eating -- something you can't say about cakelove. Never thought anything made with butter would be so mediocre, and the price just makes it worse.

Random girlie question...what shade & brand of pink nail polish does Giada wear? It's absolutely peeerfect and I want that shade! (Sorry, I think she's talented & skilled & nice, but I can't watch her for more than a few minutes...the head & the over-enunciation get to me.)
