More Sandy Sadness
First Sandra Lee gets brutally rebuffed by her own network, and now this!!!
A special sign at Barnes & Noble discounting only her cookbooks?!? You don't see any Rachael Ray cookbooks being discounted. Outrageous!
Granted, I don't know anyone who's ever bought a Sandra Lee cookbook, but that's beside the point.

I know some people who randomly stumble upon this blog assume that I'm completely straightforward and sincere in every post. In case you were wondering, this post was an example of sarcasm... as are about 99% of the other posts on this blog:-)

I was at Target this morning and saw that Auntie Sandie is on the cover of Southern Lady magazine. Isn't she from Wisconsin or something?
You can probably find her faux-moir in the 75% off bin.
I made my very own Sandra Lee cookbook by photocopying the backs of all the Tuna Helper boxes & taping them to a Boone's Farm catalog.
gen: i believe she was born in LA, moved to Wisconsin, moved back to LA, and now resides in the dark corners of one's mind.
anon: i read all i needed to read at an airport borders while delayed in Chicago.
timotheus: LOL! Please do that and send me some pictures.
I saw several of her cookbooks at Borders in the clearance section for $4.97 a piece.
Maybe FN will get the hint and move her to an off-time slot or off the FN all together.
Totally agree. I don't like that she uses so many boxed and pre-made ingredients. I want a cooking show not something that I don't want to do. I want from scratch and will to take the time to make a good meal and healthy.
Ok--you know I don't defend Sandra, ever.
But as a former B&N employee, I have to tell you all that it's probably not a bad sign for her--it might actually be a good one.
Rather than reflecting failure, it's much more likely that she has a new publisher or new cover design/branding for her forthcoming books (since I've heard she has 3-6 coming out before fall) and that the old ones are being reissued to match. So B&N (and other retailers) will sell off the old ones at as low a price as they can and still turn a profit before they get recalled to the publisher.
A ha! That tricky Aunt Sandy! How does she have time to think about rebranding when she's onto her third Burgundy Bubbler of the morning?
I really have to wonder if this is only happening here in the DC area:
Comcast Cable Company doesn't list "Semi-Homemade" in the little cable guide box -- you know, when you're scrolling through the channels to see what's on?
The name of Sandy's show, according to Comcast Cable, is:
"..."
I'm not kidding. They list the names of the shows in the 1/2 hour time slots both before and after Semi-Ho's show. But not hers.
Interesting.
Could be the work of some programmer/pissed-off home chef, who's insulted by the "Let's spend a fortune and pump the family full of chemicals" recipes.
