Lisa Garza Speaks! Ep. 2
Well well... I'm going to have to set up a little corner of the blog for Lisa Garza! =) The "Diva from Dallas" left a comment about episode one last week, and now the contestant on season 4 of The Next Food Network Star has reached out once again to Food Network Addict.
Check our Lisa's latest post. It's kinda long, so I'll let you click through to it. Lisa's also blogging (the same text she's been leaving here, apparently) for the Dallas-based D Magazine blog Side Dish.
An interesting tidbit:
"Anyone that knows me, knows I come with a warning label, ADHD, unmedicated, managed holistically by a Whole Foods diet, exercise, music and art. Without these things I am unable to control my 'leg shaking' hyperactivity and the anxiety that derives from the nonstop stress hormones and adrenaline being released due to the symptoms not being addressed. I was honest about my disorder from the beginning. I want to be an advocate for hungry kids, whether its hunger in their hearts, their minds, their spirits or their bellies. I have my 15 minutes in the 'EYE' of the media storm, in front of 2 million people. I'm going to use it to help somebody, no matter what anyone thinks."

Talk about being a fame whore. This just proves she is hankering to leave her life in Texas for the bright lights of anywhere else.
That garbage about being an advocate for hungry kids is such a crock.
Something is wrong with this woman. Mark my words.Something is very wrong.
And I can tell you ahead of time she doesn't last too long on the show, as why would she be here trying to garner exposure and further her fame whoring ?
Heidi Montag comes to mind. Ugh.
Give me Lisa from Top Chef anyday over this one. OMG.
I really think she should stop writing so much. Just let us see you on the show...
While I appreciate Lisa's caveat about not knowing how to spell, I am a little concerned that she is writing a blog for at least 2 publications and cannot take the time to proofread her writings.
I understand not knowing basic grammar rules, Lisa, but if you can figure out the difference between Oscar de la Renta and Oscar De La Hoya, you should be able to figure out the difference between "there" and "their."
Education is an important part of ending hunger and poverty in this country (you know, issues important to you); please value it, and set an example!
Just remember - she knows how it all turned out and we don't.
Just some food for thought, if you're reading this, Lisa. Your post comes across as "me, me, me, me...pity me and my "unaddressed issues",...me, me, me..oh yeah, and some hungry kids." Perhaps that is not how you mean to come across. Also, who doesn't have "unadressed issues" from their past? A plethora of people reading this and watching you could probably fill volumes with stories of their horrific past and present. My heart goes out to anyone having a hard time but it's called life. We learn to cope and we move on, especially if we have the resources you seem/appear to have.
I was impressed with your peformance on episode 2, I'm less impressed when I read your thoughts/pov. You may be creating more collateral damage than you realize.
4 words for this chatty cathy:
DUCT TAPE OVER MOUTH. needing to explain this much this often to strangers is really really sad and annoying.
guess what lisa? NO ONE CARES....and I am sure you already wore out everyone you personally know so you are preying on all of us.
stop it. please.
take some Valerian. that's natural and maybe it will calm your yappy ass down.
just what we need........this incessant yapping now that Pandora's box has been opened......too much information, too much unnecessary information. too much unasked for information.....TOO MUCH.
she may know how it all turns out but she obviously does not know when to STFU......
As my dearly departed great-grandma would have said, "That girl has more issues than National Geographic".
Whatever... I adore Lisa. I hope she wins, gets her own show and smacks that annoying tooth grin off of Giada.
Robert, love your grandmother's saying. I'm going to have to remember that one. There is no way I would watch her show and from reading a couple of blogs, looks like most people would not either. FN has only had 1 of 3 seasons have success (and I can't watch him either). Seems like with that kind of success rate that this show is a waste of time and money. Or, someone at FN is not doing their job. I've been watching less and less of that station, where as my TV use to stay on it all day long. Seems that women and men that are at home during the day would rather watch instructional cooking programs, rather than "Challenges" Mission Impossible or DDD. Of course there is the slim possibility I am wrong.
I like the way she refined her challenge for the second week. "Beautiful Basics" could actually work as a show. I don't know what will happen - watch, she'll probably get tossed the next episode - but she listened to the criticism during the first week and responded in a way that made sense. I found that admirable.
She looks like she has no eyes and that's very distracting. She's just a set of eyebrows on a head.
The truth is out! Lisa Garza played Laliari in Galaxy Quest. See for yourself:

In the pic below, Lisa's husband Gilbert looks the same 8 years ago, but Lisa has changed!
