Ace of Cakes: A Star Wars Slip Up?
After the massive Internet attack on Charm City Cakes after the gang there put SCOTTY IN THE WRONG CHAIR on its Star Trek cake, you'd think they'd be more careful when working on pop culture cakes, sure to be intensely scrutinized by the legions of dedicated fans.
That's why I could not believe the recent on-screen wording used for the Star Wars cake they did for a wedding episode. Specifically, Boba Fett's ship Slave I. That's B-O-B-A.
Who the hell is Bob? An overly eager spellchecker? (Truth be told, I had to look this all up and have only seen some of the Star Wars movies.)
At least this time it wasn't the fault of the cake designers... phew! Don't hate, Star Wars-peeps!

Who was the long brown haired cook/chef on FN this morning? Making some appetizers it looked like. Never saw her before- but usually I'm at work. Quite boring.
Who cares Jacob? This is boring zzz
By the way there is a new magazine called FOOD and Mario is on the cover/with an article about his plans for 2009-FYI.
That does it. I'm never watching Ace of Cakes again.
Jacob,
You MUST post about Ina and Jeffery in the tent!
At least SOMEBODY on the AOC production crew has better things to do with their time than memorize "Star Wars" details! ;-]
I can't believe I care enough to ask but if it wasn't the crews' fault, whose was it? Does Duff not basically put his name on every cake that goes out? Where does the responsibility aptly lie then? Or do they all stand around, step back, point and say, "don't look at me..."
And most of that crew could so pass for Trek fans. Trekkies or what ever.
Jenna - We don't create the graphics for the show, the production company that makes the show does. We make cakes, they make tv. So unfortunately I must point my finger at the editors of "Ace of Cakes". However I do so most begrudgingly, as I have met most of them in person and they are very wonderful people. But even the most wonderful of people make a typo mistake now and then. I am sure I already have in this comment.
Love,

Ha-- I loved that. Just caught it today. "If the tent's a rockin', don't come a knockin'"
****
Thanks, Malice for pointing that out. I should also mention that Duff and the crew always referred to the name of the cake correctly. I also think they had the right title card on screen a few other times. What I posted was really just a joke, peeps.
*snickering*
Typo's aside, it's a pretty awesome ship. If some guy named Bob offered me a ride, I'd probably go ....
So was it printed correctly on the cake? I was wondering if it was a TV production error.
Now someone will come in asking for a Bob Fett cake I am sure. :)
Do "Star Wars" geeks still exist? Are they willing to show their faces after that franchise became a joke and a total POS?
Umm, was that the real Mary Alice? Cool that you commented, but I wouldn't hang around here too much if I was you. For some reason, people who comment on web sites about the Food Network had an umbrella shoved up their asses and it was opened and now they're REALLY pissed off about... everything.
My nerd rage is boiling.
So beware. Because nerd rage is at least as formidable as normal rage. By about half.
And then halved again.
Jenna:
We get it - you hate the show. Do you really need to play Whack-A-Mole every time the show's mentioned and dump on them?
Ace of Cakes is on my list as well.. I wasn't too happy about the season finale! UGH!
