Promo for Sandra Lee's New Show: Money Saving Meals

I'm pretty sure Sandra Lee chose to include this beautiful shot of an "Armadillo Egg" being bisected in the promo for her new show since I made them for the recent Semi-Homemade Party.

Nothing like crescent roll, sausage, cheese, and jalapeƱo to wake you up in the morning.

Yeah, I would murder a batch of the Armadillo eggs if they were available when I woke up. Especially if I'd been drinking the Lush Lagoon Jalapeno cocktail the night before.

Without tablescapes and thematic kitchen decor I really don't see the point of this.

Whoa- nowhere in the extended video remix of Money Saving Meals was there a mention of cocktail time. I'm concerned.

OK - so we all know the cheapest way is to cook from scratch - no boxes, baggies or premade anything. So how's the Queen of the Semi's going to pull this off????

Why is there such a barage of sarcasm towards Sandra Lee. Her cuisine is not my cup of tea, but I find her entertaining. She was on the Today Show last week and did a fantastic job.

Obviously there's viewership. Her show's been running for how long? Years!

I think this show might breathe new life into Aunt Sandy. She needed a switch up from having to match her kitchen colors with her ensemble and I think she's tackled every tablescape imagineable. I'd like to see how her shopping differs from what I currently do, and maybe, just maybe, I can take something away from it.

A great grandmother from the cooking from scratch days.Dorothy

Armadillo Eggs, huh? Well, that's different take on them than I had seen. Being from Texas and having spent a bit of time in most of the regions in the state, I would have called that a quick Kolache. The Aramdillo Eggs that I make are Jalepeno prpper stuffed with cheese (or fresh Gulf Brown, dove ettoufee shrimp, Crab dip, or any number of other things) and then covered with breakfast sausage to form an egg shape. You can roll them cornmeal/panko mix or grill them on the grill for appetizers. I admit that most of those would take a bit more time than Aunt Sandy's version, but the basic jalepeno and cheese one is pretty quick.

I love you , Sandy! Kolaches are good too!
