If You Write It, They Will Come -- Just got Tickets to SNL!!

I swear I haven't been studying up on The Secret and I'm not in cahoots with NBC at all (in fact, I kinda bashed 'em yesterday), but I just got an email confirmation for TICKETS to Saturday Night Live... on my birthday!!!

This was the first year I tried entering the SNL ticket lottery. During the month of August only, you can send an email with just your contact info (no date preferences, no requests for more than 2 tickets, no extra-credit for reciting, word-for-word, "Gap Girls" or "Sweeney Sisters" sketches... no nothing) and you'll be entered in the lottery.

I'm so excited!

Wonder if they'll do another "Food Network: Porn for fat people" sketch.

Guy Fieri Attends SNL, Not Tyler Florence

I got an email yesterday letting me know about Guy Fieri being spotted sitting next to William Shatner in the audience of the Saturday Night Live season premiere, hosted by Michael Phelps. I was at a wedding at the time and was bummed I had forgot to set it to tape. (More so because I was dying to see if Tina Fey would impersonate a certain someone, less so because of Guy).

So I was very confused this morning when I read an article saying that "you also noticed Food Network's Tyler Florence, who stars in commercials for Applebee's, sitting next to Shatner."

Now that my beloved Redlasso is fighting for its life (thanks to NBC and other networks!) and the fact that NBC has not put up the Michael Phelps monologue, I wasn't able to check for myself until now.

Take a look:

How was there any confusion?

As of right now, there is a YouTube video up... but we know how that goes. NBC is surely trolling the net looking to take down all unauthorized content from this episode.

The article has since been updated.

FN: Porn for Fat People?

NBC reran the Tina Fey-hosted episode of Saturday Night Live last night. I missed the first airing, but had seen a few clips online here and there. Still, I had no idea that Food Network was parodied TWICE!

Ehhh... kinda funny. I think it's porn for a lot of people, regardless of body type.

If you haven't seen There Will Be Blood, No Country for Old Men, or Juno this sketch won't make much sense. Bill Hader's impression of Daniel Planview is right on and Fred Armisen is nearly identical to Javier Bardem's freaky portrayal of villain Anton Chigurh. And Tina Fey is, of course, great as Juno.

Rachael Ray was also parodied in the Celebrity Apprentice sketch, but it wasn't that good... or funny. Rachael is surprisingly hard to impersonate. People either try to exaggerate the scratchy voice or just use the catch phrases over and over. I'd like to see a high-quality Rachael impression by the likes of Maya Rudolph or Amy Poehler.

Rachael Ray on SNL???

Did you catch the Rachael Ray reference in last night's episode of Saturday Night Live?

It was quick and--as most mentions of RR are--not the nicest of jabs.

She is certainly proving her relevance, though, isn't she? Just a few years ago Zach Braffer would have said...umm... Hillary Clinton, perhaps? Monica Lewinski? Tanya Harding?

I'm sure Rachael loved it, though... even if the sketch (and basically the entire episode) wasn't all that funny.

Poor Zachie.

P.S.- When did Zach Braff get such a belly?
