TV Alert: Ina Garten on Today show Dec. 18

Ina Garten will not stop making these morning show rounds until her new book Back to Basics is the #1 bestselling cookbook ever! At least that's how it appears.

She's already apppeared on Good Morning America twice to promote it, and this Thursday the East Hampton's Barefoot Contessa will be on NBC's Today show. Let's just hope Ann Curry and/or Natalie Morales doesn't try to take over the segment or say that they "love her show on HGTV" like they did a few years back:

I swear, it's like on every morning show cooking segment the host feels like s/he needs to talk nonstop to move things along.

****

Happy Monday. Can't believe xmas is next week!

Ina Garten is suddenly popping up everywhere.

I cannot recall Ina making so many public appearances.

Did she just make up her mind to "up" her exposure like so many other FN personalities ? I see her cookbooks everywhere now.

I just love Ina , but I must say that she looks like a short overweight version of Jackie Kennedy !

I hate these cooking segments. What the hell is the point? The host is rushing them along so fast that you don't actually get any info. They would run out of time if they were preparing a PB&J sandwich.

I totally agree they rush them along way too fast. It is rather insulting if you ask me. If I were Ina, I'd tell them to "rub salt" if they in any way hurry me during the cooking demo.

The point of a cooking demo is to provide fill time and since all the networks do it, they all follow along like clueless sheep.

The people who they select all seem to be pitching something, whether a cookbook or some new FN show or a restaurant.

I guess in this case, one does need the other, but the whole cooking demo spot is rather pointless. I thought Ina chose not to be one of "them" though. That surprises me.

Nothing good can come of this, especially if she is on the late hour with that disgusting pig Kathie Lee.

Ina is such a class act. Being on the Today Show must be exasberating. As mentioned above, they rushed you like nobody's business. Mario Batali was on this morning and he's used to the pace, but Ina's not as fast. Good luck to her.

You guys on the Today Show better treat her well!!!!!

I like Ina, but just once I'd like to see her in something other than the blue or black button downs that she always wears. Makes me wonder if she's self-conscious about her weight and is trying to hide it? I think she would look gorgeous in something more vibrant.

I just hope she doesn't go on "Regis & Kelly". Watching cooking demos on that show makes me want to relieve the pain by getting a tooth filled and asking the dentist to hold the Novocaine.

To be with Ann Curry on Today's Kitchen would be an additional NIGHTMARE!!!! She doesn't LET ANYONE TALK. She butt's in constantly to all the guests. She drives me crazy. No wonder she didn't get the job replacing Katie.
