Kelly Ripa Does Paula Deen

Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa -- going strong after all these years -- take their Halloween show seriously, despite being 95 years old and 95 lbs., respectively.

The talkshow duo made seven costume changes this morning! And everyone's favorite butter-using, Sugar-saying, Southern Belle with a penchant for Burger King -- Paula Deen -- was one of them!

Also, Regis dressed up as the potty-mouthed Gordon Ramsay... and seemed to have a great time cussing out his feelings. Reege!

GuyFeeYetti guested on the show, too. He came out as some kind of astronaut, with his trademark sunglasses on the back of his head. It's sunny in space, y'all!

Happy Halloween!

Hopefully Ellie Krieger will give up the healthy thing for one night and not pass out vegan soy crisps to the kiddies!

Thanksgiving on Food Network

Lots of November details to share, the first being the most important:

Ina Garten's Thanksgiving Desserts
Airs Wednesday, November 19th at 9pm ET

Not the same old pumpkin pie. Ina Garten hosts a special dessert hour featuring classic seasonal flavors plus modern confections to satisfy the Thanksgiving sweet tooth. Guest starring Alton Brown and Tyler Florence and Food Network Addict!

Iron Chef America
Sadly, there will be no outsiders competing in Kitchen Stadium this Thanksgiving. After 2006's Battle Cranberry with Rachael Ray and Giada and 2007's Battle Sugar with Paula Deen, Tyler Florence, and Robert Irvine, this year's special will pit Iron Chefs Flay and Symon against Iron Chefs Morimoto and Cora.

According to the press release, fashion designer Marc Ecko comes to Kitchen Stadium to present his take on new jackets for each of the Iron Chefs. A much needed change?

Dear Food Network
Thanksgiving Disasters
Premieres: Tuesday, November 18th at 9pm
Fans share their wildest dinner disaster stories and get great tips and recipes for a worry-free Thanksgiving. Hosted by Guy Fieri and guest starring Tyler Florence, Michael Symon, and Sunny Anderson.

Thanksgiving Turkey
Premieres: Monday, November 17th at 9pm
It’s all about THE BIRD. Host Alton Brown answers every question imaginable about the star of the Thanksgiving meal – the turkey. Guest starring Tyler Florence and Giada De Laurentiis.

Thanksgiving Leftovers
Premieres: Thursday, November 20th at 9pm
With fresh ideas for tired leftovers, Food Network stars show viewers what to do with virtually everything from the Thanksgiving table from turkey and cranberry sauce to sweet potatoes and leftover wine. Hosted by Bobby Flay and guest starring Guy Fieri, Danny Boome, and Sunny Anderson.

**************

I'm getting hungry from ready all that. I normally love Thanksgiving and the holdiays, but I'm just not feeling ready this year. The weather is turning colder. My time spent at the gym is dwindling, and the idea of going out in the cold just seems less and less exciting. This will also be one of the years I won't be going home to see any family on Thanksgiving, so the day has lost a bit of its luster right now. Maybe I'll be able to change that over the new few weeks. Until then, I'll try to drag my ass to the gym a few times before the cold really sets in. Wish me luck!

What Rachael's Magazine Tells Us About Who She's Voting For

This will surely stir up the blogosphere's collective feelings! (Let's just hope those feelings were left out overnight to come to room temperature, like Ina says, before stirring.)

The political party photo spread in the Nov. issue of Everyday with Rachael Ray mayyyyy slightly favor one candidate over the other, says TMZ.

The gossip site found the following items of note:
1) The first page of the spread contains two buttons -- the text on the Obama pin is perfectly readable, on the McCain button, John's name is cut off!

2) There are two cups bearing political stickers on the second page of the spread -- the Obama sticker is clearly readable, complete with a link to his website; the McCain cup is turned, so only the letters "McCa" are legible PLUS his website is blurred out of focus.

3) There are two more buttons on page three of the spread! They are both partially cut out of frame ...BUT the Obama pin is clearly identifiable; the way the light hits the McCain button, it's impossible to read.

*********

Hmm... kinda fishy, although could just be a case of a photo editor overlooking things. What I'm worried about is what to drink: Blue Moon or Red Stripe? They're both turned!

What's This?!? Full episodes on Foodnetwork.com

Has anyone else seen this? FoodNetwork.com now has a video player that includes, among other things, full episodes of Cooking for Real, Iron Chef America, Ask Aida, Diners Drive-Ins and Dives, Throwdown with Bobby Flay, and Ace of Cakes.

You still have to watch them in Food Network's inferior-to-hulu video player... but it's hard to compete with NBC Universal, News Corp, and $100 million in private investments. So, three cheers are still in order for Food Network and Scripps for taking the plunge and putting their content on YouTube and, now, their Website.

And just in case you're wondering, I don't really like watching full episodes online. They are good if they're sneak peeks before the episode airs on TV, though. Love how they did that with 30 Rock recently.

Soooo Food Network Interactive: how 'bout you put up that Thanksgiving Special with Ina Garten! ;-)

Would you watch full episodes online?

Morning Show Roundup: Ina, Tyler, Sandra, Nigella, Mario

So many Food Network stars are showing up on the morning shows these days. I can't keep up!

This morning, Ina Garten made her first appearance (according to Diane Sawyer) on Good Morning America.

I love how Ina says she "splits the difference" when trying to cook her Thanksgiving dinner in one oven by just using one temperature for everything -- this, coming from the woman who has three ovens in her barn's kitchen, two in her home, and about four more temporary ones in her garage when she's shooting her TV show. :-) Maybe she's saving energy and only turning on one these days, though.

Sandra Lee also hit up GMA recently. She made some kind of raspberry mustard-crusted chicken that sounds completely unappetizing to me... but she seems to enjoy it.

Sandra has been putting "internationally renowned" in her bio for a while lately. What exactly does one do to get "internationally renowned"? Does that mean you got a good book review in Canada? That the hotel staff in Mexico recognized you? I'm not sure.

Tyler Florence has two new books out now. Naturally, he appeared twice on NBC's Today show this week. Here's one:

Mario Batali promoting his new book and PBS show on Today.

Nigella Lawson on Today.

And my favorite fave Amy Sedaris ALSO subjected herself to Kathie Lee hit up the Today show to promote the release of her book I Like You in paperback.

Sandra Gets Queeny for Halloween

I honestly couldn't tell you one thing Sandra Lee cooked in her Halloween special this year... but I do remember the costumes!

In case you can't tell, that isn't Sandra's everyday hairstyle (altho if it gets her the Emmy for best hairstyling next year, I think she might start rockin' it a bit more) or costume but actually her take on Marie Antoinette. Kinda close? Maybe?

I'm thinking it's a bit closer to 1990 VMAs Madonna performing Vogue in Victorian drag, but good effort, Sandy Sand!

Aunt Anne Boleyn. Umm... all right.

Guinevere!

My favorite! Aunt Sandy as Queen Elizabeth I. Love the powdered face!

Again, I think food might have been served, cocktails were probably drunk, but I have no recollection of that stuff. Props to Sandy for really going all out. I love her, but I bet an orange button-up shirt is as much Halloween as Ina Garten gets.

Did you watch?

No Charm City Cakes in L.A. -- Yet!

Charm City Cakes' manager / Ace of Cakes star / Disliker of Isaac Mizrahi Mary Alice took to the bakery's official blog to clear something big up...

There is no Charm City Cakes in L.A.!

Just because in last week's episode of Ace of Cakes Duff and Mary Alice went to LA to "investigate the possibility" of opening a location there, doesn't mean there is one now.

Evidently, Mary Alice is already getting job applications sent to her.

But a west coast location would be nice, wouldn't it? How would that work? Duff goes there Mon-Wed, flys back to Baltimore for Thu-Sat, and then sees where he ends up on Sunday? Hmm...

Comfortable in her Own Home? A First Look at Giada At Home

Someone emailed me yesterday saying I was an IDIOT (actually they said "your [sic] an idiot!") for talking about candy instead of reviewing Giada's and Ina's new shows. They also went on to allege that since I was "partying with them in NY" I wasn't going to express my "real feelings."

Well, person who emailed me from their work account with their full address, telephone and fax number in the signature, this one's for you... idiot!

Giada at Home is Giada De Laurentiis' second cooking-focused show for Food Network. While Everyday Italian featured an apronless (oh the horror!) Giada staying primarily in the kitchen and cooking Italian/Italian-inspired dishes, Giada at Home bills itself as a "lifestyle program" and showcases Giada out in her community picking up groceries, throwing parties, and conversing with friends and family. It's not entirely groundbreaking (Ina Garten and other hosts have done similar non-cooking segments for years) but it is something new for Giada.

So does it work?

The answer is, I'm not sure... yet. I've only seen one episode. Shooting scenes away from the set (yes, it's a set people!) and in the real world certainly add a nice element to the show, but they can sometimes take away from one of the big reasons people watch: to learn recipes.

While some shows can easily transition back and forth between instructional cooking and lifestyle/outdoors spots (Barefoot Contessa, Healthy Appetite with Ellie Krieger, etc.), it didn't seem that smooth in the first episode of Giada at Home. With less time devoted to cooking, Giada appeared rushed--like she was trying to get out the same amount of info she would have in an episode of Everyday Italian but in 1/3 the amount of time. It also helps if these out-of-the-kitchen segments have a point. I know it sounds simple, but if you're just running out to grab coffee, do we really need to see that?

Another thing is this element of California and California cuisine the show is pushing. While I think it was pretty apparent in Everyday Italian that Giada lived in California and lived the "California lifestyle," GatH makes a point to really emphasize this... which can and can't be good.

In some shots, you see a bunch of surfboards propped up against the wall. To me, that's a little more California Dreams than real California. And while Giada claims that this type of lifestyle (eating local produce, eating light, eating seasonally, etc.) can now be enjoyed by all of America thanks to the great variety of farmers markets, I don't think that's entirely true. California cuisine is called just that for a reason. Consequently, that angle is going to be less relatable to the 90 million homes with Food Network than Italian food is, which is now about as American as the Big Mac.

The show itself is still beautifully shot. While I'm glad Giada has more room to move about now, I kind of miss the Everyday Italian homes she used when filming that show. My favorite was seen in only a few episodes where she was shot at an angle and there was a big table behind her. The new set just seems a bit bland.

The food looks appetizing and I found the non-Italian recipes interesting and worth trying. Giada just didn't seem all that comfortable in her new home... yet. Like I said, it was only the first episode. A new mom, Giada shot these episodes while still getting into the swing of motherhood. It's only natural that she might have a few other, more important things on her mind.

Soooo... what did you think? She still used pancetta, so that's a plus.

Michael Chiarello Promotes Braces-Friendly Halloween Treats; Kids Without Braces Laugh While Eating Snickers

Even though Michael Chiarello and his Food Network show Easy Entertaining is slowly fading into that region of very early morning programming -- sandwiched between an infomerical for Debbie Myers' green bags and an 8 year old rerun of Molto Mario -- the NapaStyle maven isn't slowing down.

Chi-Chi has teamed up with the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) to provide braces-friendly Halloween recipes for the more than five million children and adults in North America who currently wear braces.

"My family and I love to create special meals together, but when my
daughter recently got braces, we had to modify some of our favorite recipes,"
says Chiarello. The braces-friendly recipes we've come up with -- like Green
Goo Slimedoo and Black and Orange Bon Bons -- allow my daughter to enjoy the
holiday without causing harm to her braces. Plus, they are fun to make
together."

I never had braces as a kid, so I luckily never had to worry about these things. I also wasn't that big on candy, so my bag of sweets sat mostly untouched in a drawer all year long.

Still, look at all the things the AAO says kids with braces need to stear clear of:

- All hard candies
- All chewy candies
- Caramel
- Nuts
- Licorice
- Taffy
- Jelly beans
- Hard pretzels
- Bubblegum
- Popcorn (including unpopped kernels)
- Taco chips
- Ice

I'm fine without the licorice (yuck!) and jelly beans... and who is giving out ice on halloween!?! I guess in these tough economic times, that's what it's come down to.

"Alright kids, everybody gets one cube. You need help popping it out of the tray and into your candy bag? Have a happy Halloween now!"

I think I may try to give out ice just to see what the kiddies do.

Ina Shows Off Her New Barn

Ina Garten wanted a house, so she built a barn. Confusing? Well, not really. For years, Ina used her own home to film her TV show, develop recipes for her books, and do magazine photo shoots. That requires a lot of people in your house all the time.

After visiting East Hampton back in September and seeing the kind of production that goes on just while filming Barefoot Contessa, I definitely understand why Ina would want a little peace and quiet.

Just look at everything in her garage!

In addition to the three ovens, two refrigerators, and multiple gas burners that Ina has in her barn's kitchen, the garage is where culinary assistants work to prep multiple version of the same dish all day long.

They have another 4-5 refrigerators, 3-4 more ovens, and every pot and pan imaginable in there!

You can tell Ina is thrilled to have the barn completed. House Beautiful got a special tour of the place.

As you can see, the barn is just across the yard from Ina's home. When having parties, guests sit on the stone wall and roast marshmallows in the big iron fire bowl.

I'm not sure how high the ceiling is, but it's impressively high. That's why the newer shows actually have a bit more of an echo to them. I love the exposed beams, too.

We didn't go into the barn's bedroom while I was there (it serves as Ina's hair & makeup / sanctuary while taping), but from the look of it it seems like a great place to spend the night. Just look at the tub that looks out into the garden!

Not to be outdone, Food Network's Bruice Seidel took a tour of the barn, which you can catch on the latest episode of The FN Dish [link updated, should work now]. Ina is so sweet in it. Check it out!

Inside the Guy Fieri Taping

While at the NYC Wine and Food Festival, instead of going to the live taping of a Guy Fieri special called Guy's Family Feast, I chose to go back to the Grand Tasting for a 2nd day.

While I'm not the biggest fan of Guy on TV, I've liked him better when I've seen him in front of an audience. He was actually pretty great with the kids at the Kidz Kitchen in South Beach last February. So I was intrigued to see how this taping would be... but choose wine, food, and liquor instead... on a Sunday. Does that make me a heathen?

Luckily, my friend Katie (a.k.a. partysugar) over at YumSugar attended the taping and has full coverage and plenty of pics up on their blog.

Check it out!

******************************

I'm re-watching Giada at Home and Barefoot Contessa right now. We watched them yesterday, half asleep, after returning from New York. So, I need more time to think about them. I agree that Giada seems rushed and Ina's new theme song arrangement will take some getting used to. I'm just happy for new shows!

The Best Birthday at Butter

We had a wonderful time at Butter in NYC on Saturday night celebrating my birthday. Executive Chef and star of Food Network's The Cooking Loft Alex Guarnaschelli personally welcomed us and helped make the night extra special.

I started off with the romaine salad, which had a basil pesto and light caesar dressing. The romaine had been left mostly unchopped, so there was some pretty spectacular height to this salad. And the freshly shaved parmesan wasn't that bad, either.

Jared had a butternut squash soup that had a cute little side of freshly popped popcorn. "Elegant and earthy" as Ina would say.

For the main course, I had the olive oil poached striped bass. It was really good, but, to be honest, I could barely finish it! I was so full from the other courses Chef Alex had sent out to us. I remember a croquette of some kind, a creamy lemon pasta, and another involving some sweetbreads. (This is why I'm not an official restaurant blogger. I don't write things down!)

I am in love with the restaurant's design. A giant, sweeping arch of light wood and soft lighting encircles you above and really puts you in a different place (perhaps it's the forest photo [backlit to look like it's glowing] that does that too) and helps to set the mood.

We tried both red and white wines, plus the Butter martini which were all very good... and reasonable, for NYC.

A birthday isn't a birthday without cake, and even though we were stuffed to the max, we toughed it out and tried two different desserts (which I don't think are on the menu online). I even got a candle with, thankfully, no embarrassing song and dance.

We were really treated well by Chef Alex and the entire staff. I can't wait to return.

If you're in New York, definitely try to get to Butter. It has the fanciness you look for in a special night out and none of the pretense. We came straight from SNL in our jeans and Converses. Love those kind of places!

(PS- I'm still full. Need to do the 10-day detox or something now.)

Don't Forget -- New Giada and Ina Today!

October 18th has finally arrived!

New Giada at Home at 1:00pm ET
New Barefoot Contessa at 1:30 pm ET

And the worst part of it all? I'm on my way to New York right now and will be missing both shows! I have them set to tape, but it won't be the same.

Let me know how they both go down. I'll need a little preview before I'm able to catch them tomorrow.

Tyler Florence Book Giveaway

Yay for Friday giveaways!

Tyler Florence's two new books Stirring the Pot and Dinner at My Place are both releasing on Tuesday, Oct. 21... and I'm giving away five sets!

Tyler's people sent me the books recently and I can honestly say they look great. The pictures are beautiful and there is a huge variety of recipes in each book. Tyler's family and home and in Northern California are heavily featured, too. I haven't had a chance to cook anything from them yet, though. That'll be the next step.

To enter, email me at foodnetworkaddict [at] gmail [dot] com with the name of Tyler's daughter -- who was just born in August of this year -- in the subject line.

Entries will be accepted until 12:01am on Wednesday, October 22. I'll pick five winners at random that day.

Good luck!

Grand Tasting at NYC Wine and Food Fest

In my opinion, the Grand Tasting is the main reason for attending a food fest like the recent New York City Wine and Food Festival. The educational opportunities and smaller wine tastings are great, but it's the sensory-overload display of food, wine, and liquor--all for the tasting--that I love the most.

It can also be one of the most crowded events.

Luckily, I was pleasantly surprised by the crowd level on both Saturday's and Sunday's Grand Tasting. It's definitely been a problem the last few years in Miami, so it was great to be able to walk around freely and actually have some time to speak with the vendors.

Everyone entered through the "Target Welcome Area" and got their wristband, gift bag, and some chocolates and espresso (if you wanted it). You then had to wait to cross a very busy street to get over to the pier where the Grand Tasting tents were. Kind of a strange arrangement, but people seemed to deal okay.

A big thing to help ease the crowds seemed to be the event organizers' decision to break the public Grand Tasting into two separate sessions on both Saturday and Sunday. It was such a help!

Alex Guarnaschelli
from The Cooking Loft was there all day Sunday representing her restaurant Butter. I complimented her on the show and was excited to hear it had been picked up for more episodes.

AND I'll be eating at Butter for the first time this Saturday. I'll be going for my birthday before Saturday Night Live. Can't wait!

Seriously, if there is one event to attend at a festival like this it's the Grand Tasting. Do it! Your stomach will thank you... even if your head doesn't the next morning when you wake up and realize you drank about 10 glasses of wine and a few shots between the hours of 11 and 3. You might even meet a Dancing With the Stars castoff like we did!

Giada Joins Oxfam as Ambassador for the Hungry

Did anyone know that today is World Food Day? I didn't.

I was happy to read that Giada De Laurentiis has begun work with the relief agency Oxfam International as an Ambassador. She'll be focusing her efforts on fighting poverty and hunger.

"To a billion people around the world surviving on just a dollar a day, the question 'what are we going to eat tonight' becomes more about life and death, than about recipes," says Giada.

Giada's already raising awareness for the organziation. Every book sold on her recent book tour had an insert on rising food costs and the hunger crisis, according to Oxfam.

Good job, G!

Read more about Giada's involvement and see what you can do.

Macy's Party at NYC Wine and Food Fest

After the Duff Goldman-hosted dessert party SWEET (which I'll blog about later; I'm going in a roundabout order), I headed upstairs to the Macy's Culinary Council Star Party at The XChange.

But on the way to the elevator I saw Tyler Florence, who was getting mobbed by women (and some men) asking for pictures. He must have recognized me from our interview earlier this year, 'cause he actually stopped taking pictures to give me a hug! So crazy! Tyler is so nice to his fans.

The party was on the top floor of the building and right as I hopped on the elevator, Anne Burrell jumped in at the last minute. I think she mentioned something about waking up late that morning and barely making it to the CBS Early Show.

As we walked in, I told Anne how much I liked her show and was glad that it got picked up for more episodes. She thanked me for the "A+" review and even snapped a pic with me!

Food by some amazing chefs was being passed around, but I was too excited to eat (and pretty stuffed from all the desserts I had just eaten downstairs).

After briefly chatting with her downstairs, I got to talk (and dance and drink) with the one, the only, Susie Fogelson.

Giada De Laurentiis was there with her husband Todd. This was my first time speaking to Giada in person. She and Todd were both very nice and complimented me on the blog--Todd even brought up that "Birthday Idea for Giada" post. We talked about her new show and how the baby was doing (she was back home in L.A. with her family) and how it had been going back and forth.

I've seen her in person at a book signing before, but this was my first time up close. It's true, she is tiny! But very nice, people. I didn't get any "Princess Proscuitto" vibe at all. She certainly didn't have to talk to me for as long as she did; a million other folks were clamoring for her attention that night.

But the highlight of the night had to be dancing with some of the great people who work at Food Network (Carrie, Lisa, Lauren, Jannie and Susie) and help make events like these so much fun... and help a blogger out with content and pics all year long!

Even Iron Chef Bobby Flay got into the dancing spirit, although it looks like he lost a little interest halfway through. Watch for Bruce Seidel and Susie Fogelson, too.

P.S.- I didn't take this vid and can't be held responsible for bad dancing choices. ;-)

MSN has lots more pics from the event.

Rachael Ray Hosts Burger Bash at NYC Wine and Food Fest

They say the third time's a charm, but that old adage didn't hold true for me this past Friday when I missed Rachael Ray's Burger Bash... for the third time!!!

The celeb-packed event was one of the hottest tickets at this past weekend's New York City Wine and Food Festival. Despite the $200 ticket price, fans of Chefs/People Who Cook David Burke, Tom Colicchio, Katie Lee Joel, Al Roker and more packed into Brooklyn's Tobacco Warehouse under the Brooklyn Bridge for a night of eating and drinking (Blue Moon sponsored the event). The big prize of the night went to Mrs. Joel (ZZZZzzzzzZZZZzzzz).

Looks like it was a very fun time.

Serious Eats has some great coverage of the event. Check it out!

Food Network Addict Review: Food Network Magazine

The premiere issue of Food Network Magazine hits newsstands today, but I had a chance to check it out a few days in advance. The 148-page first edition will serve as a test issue, with a second test issue to be released in January 2009. Hearst Magazines has slated five subsequent issues in 2009.

While committing to seven issues might seem slim, the odds are actually in the companies' (both Hearst's and Food Net's) favor; food magazines are some of the only titles actually improving their sales right now. When the economy slows, people tend to eat in more and need tips on what to cook.

It's not a guaranteed success, though. Hearst Magazines is dealing with the tough realities of publishing (the company had to fold CosmoGirl last week) and unlike Food Network the cable station where it stands alone as the only 24-7 food channel, Food Network Magazine will enter the market with several high-profile direct competitors--two titles being helmed by Food Network stars.

And while the network has already proved it's "way more than cooking," the magazine has a tougher road ahead. It needs to prove it's way more than the normal food mag.

Here's what I think:

The stars
The premiere issue utilizes the network's star power to its advantage. ("Cook Like A Star!" the cover calls out). Some of the features include a behind-the-scenes look at Iron Chef America, a profile of Tyler Florence's new kitchen in California, Q&A articles with Ellie Krieger and Ted Allen, "Book Reports" on all of the Food Net stars' cookbooks coming out, and recipe features showcasing Ina Garten and Paula Deen.

It covers a LOT of stars--so many that I fear the subsequent issues will have less to utilize. And while it's definitely possible to keep new and fresh content coming from a relatively unchanging cast of characters (I feel like I've done that pretty well these past few years), it's not easy. I'm eager to see if the next issue will feature as much editorial devoted to the stars or if it was the intent to supersaturate the reader with content like this just to lure them in. We shall see.

The food
As some other reviewers have noted, the recipe index that lists both the name of the dish and a thumbnail photo, divided by categories like appetizers and snacks, soups and stews, meat and poultry, sides, etc., is a great feature. Some food mags seem overwhelming in their number of recipes, but the guide really helps you zero in on what you're hungry for. The food pages themselves are further categorized by weeknight vs. weekend cooking--another smart choice.

Overall
I'm not a food magazine expert, but after reading through it a few times I feel like Food Network Magazine doesn't give us anything new--nothing we haven't seen before. And even though it has the added advantage of being directly connected to a stream of profitable content (i.e.- the stars), it really needs to prove that its content is valid on its own and not just because Tyler Florence's or Paula Deen's name is attached. I need to feel like I'm truly getting an added benefit from buying this magazine as opposed to just tuning in (for "free") to Food Network.

But if Paula and Rachael can be successful in the food magazine biz, a magazine dedicated to the whole network should have a pretty good shot. So will you be subscribing?

Back from New York City Wine and Food Fest

I'm still a bit tired after getting back from New York very late last night, but have so many things I need to write about. It was a very fun festival and I got to meet a lot of people. A bit different from the South Beach Wine and Food Fest, but still enjoyable.

For now, enjoy this video of Paula Deen (plus bodyguards) getting nearly mobbed at her book signing yesterday.

Be back soon!

Paula Deen and Co. Roll Into NYC, BK Style

Paula Deen and her husband Michael Groover are in New York City this weekend for the NYC Wine and Food Festival, which features some of the finest cuisine, pastries, and wine in the world.

Even so, Paula's just fine with a big ole' Coke from Burger King!

Does Paula make her fans sign the autographs for her? She can't be bothered to put down her bag or drink, you know.

Just kidding, Paula! Hope to see you this weekend and hear more crazy, dirty jokes!

Thanks Daniel for sending!
